Market Impact
Corporate characters, when properly marketed, are powerful images. Today's consumers are
bombarded with images and messages from all directions. Even the Internet has escalated the
quality of design work, raising the bar on how graphic design pushes through the crowd.
Though Disney was built around what is now the most recognized character in the world,
companies from Michelin Tire to Planters Peanuts, have pivoted their marketing around characters for many years that have become highly identified with their products. From Major League
Baseball, to the NFL, and college sports, the characters stand out, able to generate strong
emotional responses in customers and fans around the world. Radios stations across the country,
in an extremely competitive market, rely on characters to excite their customer bases and help
define their positions within the hearts of their listeners.
Customer Case Studies
KRFX-FM, Denver (103.5 The Fox) A very successful Denver
radio station, The Fox needed both a logo change and a
pivot point for its marketing programs to support the
format change to classic rock in 1991.
Starting with their new logo,
we designed a character to
give the emotional punch.
103.5 The Fox has effectively used the character for print,
billboard, and TV advertising. We have also designed a
number of large inflatables of the character which have
been used at many station appearances.

The Brelko Man is another example where Stu Wyatt clients visually
stand out in a competitive market.
Brelko Products and Services
Brelko is a service company which sells and services conveyor
products for manufacturers. As you might imagine,
Brelko wants to project an image of strength and reliability
but the logo alone, while attractive, falls short of a good
emotional response.
The new logo, while incorporating the old graphic, comes
alive with the Brelko Man. The company now projects an
image of strength and service in its graphic presentations
(ads, stationary,Trade Booths, other marketing material).
Now meet "Shannon", the new symbol of Shannon's Hope Maternity Home.
While the old logo was basically a symbol, Shannon creates a
positive emotional response very quickly.
Shannon's Hope Maternity Home has been helping young pregnant women
in the Denver area with no place to turn for the past 22 years. The organization was looking to create a marketing symbol that would assist in funding
efforts. The desire was to create an image that could be used in many areas
of marketing and promotion and would convey a feeling of positive warmth
and to put a happy face on what can be very challenging issues.
Here is the organization's old logo.
Designed nearly 20 year ago.
Meet Pastor Chad!
Agape Media Group Incorporated
Agape Media is a group of businesses serving the media needs of
churches, ministries, and other non-profits. Agape was looking for
a friendlier way to market a technical product, its web services,
to church pastors, where most senior pastors are over 40 years old
and not comfortable with the new technology. The idea was a
relatable character that could be used for web sites, email marketing, and other marketing programs.
Pastor Chad is used in a number of areas to soften the complexity
of technology. As part of an email marketing campaign, a series of
cartoons were created within an email marketing the services.
