JULY 2012
A T5040 FOR THE WESTONS - John & Jenny Weston have been
long term customers of Goodwin Kenny and have owned a number of
New Holland Tractors so when it came time to upgrade their tractors for
their farming and contracting business they discussed their needs with
Goodwin Kenny Tamworth Salesman, Tony Housden, and decided to
purchase a new New Holland T5040 tractor with Challenge AP35 Plus
Front End Loader. The T5040 is 86 horsepower and will take the place
of a New Holland TD80D with Front End Loader that John has traded.
John & Jenny also decided to fit a new Challenge AP35 Plus Front End
Loader to their other/newer New Holland TD80D tractor and have traded
a New Holland TD60D with Challenge Front End Loader. Pictured are
Con Smit, Tamworth Service Technician, John Weston and Levi Alley,
Tamworth Service Technician.
ECOBLUE SCR TECHNOLOGY AT WALLABADAH - Inglewood Wallabadah
Pastoral Co have recently purchased a new New Holland T7.185 tractor fitted with
a New Holland L4200 Front End Loader for their Wallabadah properties. The
T7.185 features New Holland’s Tier 4 ECOBlue SCR emissions controlled engine
for exceptional fuel economy, 40km/h Eco version Range Command, 19 Forward
x 6 Reverse Semi Powershift Transmission with
Auto Road and Field modes to name a few. David
Caslick sought ‘Guidance’ and received it in the
form of a New Holland FM750 lightbar for his
new T7.185. The FM750 will be invaluable during
spraying and planting operations. Pictured left is

TT75 UTILITY TRACTOR TO YARROWITCH - Ian & Belinda Colwell of
Oakhampton, Yarrowitch were looking for a utility tractor to assist with their farming
duties such as slashing, fencing, feeding and sowing. Belinda spotted the Goodwin
Kenny advertisement in the newspaper and suggested that Ian have a look at the
TT75. After inspecting the tractor and discussing his requirements with Goodwin
Kenny Tamworth Salesman, Tony Housden, the New Holland T75 with Challenge
AP32 Plus Front End Loader was ordered. Pictured right at installation of the tractor
are Susan Goodwin, Ian Colwell and Tamworth Service Technician Levi Alley.
CHEPY PASTORAL TAKES DELIVERY OF TD95D - Ashley & Leah Rees and
family are pictured, left, at the recent delivery of their new New Holland TD95D
Plus tractor. Delivered to their property at Chepy, Boggabri the tractor has an
air-conditioned cab, FWA and 20x12 transmission and the tractor will become
the ultimate ‘All-Rounder’ on the farm. Ashley & Leah decided on a Howard
Quicke Q45 level lift front
end loader with bucket and
pallet forks to complete the
package.
ALCE MULCHER FOR PETER JACOB - Peter Jacob chose a Howard
Alce mulcher for his Loomberah farm’s pasture crop stubble mulching
requirements. The aim is to mulch the material without windrowing to aid in
their farms soil management program. The mulcher will leave a fine layer on
top of the soil to aid in moisture retention and assist in building up the soil
organic matter levels, thereby increasing pasture production.
Pictured right at delivery is Peter Jacob, Peter’s father and Goodwin Kenny
Salesman Tony Housden.

As I have looked back at our staff records I am pleased to acknowledge some staff members who have been with us for many
years—I think this goes unnoticed by us—as the Goodwins (Susan 24 Years) & the Kennys (Mark & Peter 33 Years) all seem
to have been here for ages, but I would like to commend:
Merv Leard—16 Years, Con Smit—28 Years, Keith McPhie—10 years, Ken Mack—12 Years and Glenn Furner—10 Years.

Jim Vincent started his 57 year Spare Parts Career at the age of 15 when he was employed at Cornish’s Tamworth. He
worked there for 9 years, and this was followed by 25 years with Repco, then 4 years with Cox’s Machinery Service. Jim was
employed by Goodwin Kenny in November 1993 and he worked full time at Tamworth Branch for 13 years until deciding, in
2006, to ‘kick back’ a bit and spend 3 days a week at work, at Tamworth and Gunnedah
branches for the next 6 years. Jim has decided to retire and will leave us on 18th July 2012.
He has been a wealth of knowledge for Goodwin Kenny and I
have commented to him that this is the ‘end of an era’. So many
customers tell me that if Jim or Ted (Sippel) were behind the
counter they would know exactly what the customer wanted
(before they asked!) and go to the shelf & get out the part
without looking at the computer. We are grateful for Jim’s
expertise and dedication and wish him well in his retirement—
we hope he and Marg enjoy their garden, travelling and the
grandchildren. Best Wishes from all at Goodwin Kenny.
Susan Goodwin….
