I remind you that the present brochure is part of your holiday contract and it contains all useful information
on our resort, its facilities and the entertainment activities available.
To help us constantly improve the quality of our services and our standards of hospitality don’t hesitate to
share any suggestions and/or ideas with us through the satisfaction survey form you will find in your room/

By car
If you are travelling from Northern Italy: follow highway A12 Genoa – La Spezia – Livorno south till the end of the
highway in Rosignano Marittimo. After the tollgate, continue on the freeway “Variante Aurelia SS1” direction
Grosseto-Rome and exit at “Follonica Nord”. If you are travelling from North-East: follow highway A1 until Firenze
Signa and continue on the S.G.C. FI-PI-LI freeway towards Livorno. When you reach Collesalvetti take highway
A12 southbound (Grosseto-Roma) and exit at Rosignano Marittimo. Continue on the Aurelia SS1 freeway towards
Grosseto-Roma and exit at “Follonica Nord”. If you are travelling from South: take highway A12 Roma-Civitavecchia
all the way to its end. Continue on the “Aurelia SS1” freeway north (Grosseto-Livorno) and exit at “Follonica Nord”.
Once you exit in “Follonica Nord” continue on the main road Aurelia towards Follonica. After about m. 150 then
turn right at the roundabout and take Via Isole Eolie (towards “Prato Ranieri”) and follow the signs to Golfo del Sole,
about 600 meters on the new road Via Don Sabastiano Leone. Once you reach Golfo del Sole, park in the short
term parking area by the entrance and proceed to the reception. We remind you that Viale Italia is a no traffic area
therefore the only entrance to the village is through Via Don Sebastiano Leone which runs parallel to the railway.
General Information
Check-In
Upon arrival at the Reception please present the following documents:
1) A copy of your holiday contract or voucher; 2) Check-in form duly filled (unless you already sent it by mail, fax
or e-mail); 3) The sum of € 50,00 as compulsory deposit (for the room/apartment-key, the parking lot access badge
and the TV remote control). By law, all individuals must be registered upon arrival. Rooms/apartments will not be
assigned before 5:00 pm therefore we kindly ask you to refrain from asking your room-key or entering the lodging
prior to the official assignment by the Reception staff. You may use the self-service trolleys available in every parking
area with a € 2,00 deposit.
Please note that Golfo del Sole s.p.a. follows a satisfaction guarantee procedure on cleaning:if you are not satisfied
with the level of cleanliness at arrival you can get a free second cleaning by contacting the Reception desk within
Sunday at noon. Refunds are therefore not granted in case of dissatisfaction in the cleanliness of the apartments.
The hotel reserves the right to apply the government tourist tax.
By Train
Whether you are coming from Northern or Southern Italy, you may use the train along the Tyrrhenian Coast.
Follonica railway station is about 100 km. south of Pisa and 200 km. north of Rome, and just 4 kms from our
resort. We provide free transfer service from/to the Follonica train station (to be booked in advance and subject
to availability).
Taxi
You will find taxis in front of the Follonica train station but we advise to inform us if you need a taxi when you book
your vacation and/or on the day before departure.
Check-out
Please return your room/apartment key to the reception desk before 10:00 am on you departure day. In case of
delay, the management reserves the right to charge you for the cost of an additional night. Those who have rented
apartments in “residence” formula are kindly requested to leave their apartment clean and tidy at departure. Please
carefully wash-up, put away the crockery, clean the toilet and sink properly, empty the refrigerator and remove all
garbage.
If your flat is equipped with oven and dishwasher, kindly empty the dishwasher and clean the inside of the oven.
Please note: you can leave dirty laundry in the apartment; our staff will collect it after your departure. Please don’t
move any furniture in the apartments.

RISTORANTI & BAR
Gastronomy is the distinctive point at Golfo del Sole. During the entire season various
restaurants and bars offer a choice of food & beverage specialities which reflect
the uniqueness of our Maremman region. Fresh ingredients are used to offer the
most demanding palates authentic tastes of Tuscan cuisine. In addition, an array of
refreshments for a quick snack on the beach and fresh cocktails for the evenings with
your friends. And for couples, the unforgettable candlelight dinner with the enchanting
view of the Gulf and the islands of the archipelago.
La Pergola - Tuscan Trattoria
Located in the main building, this restaurant consists in a typical and informal Tuscan trattoria ambience offering the
local traditional cuisine by the renowned Chef Pierluigi Marani. The recipes in the à-la-carte menu are created using
the flavors and aromas of fresh seasonal ingredients from a territory which, as to food and wine, has only few rivals.
In addition, daily tasting menus with creatively appetizing dishes are available together with an extensive wine list
accompained by a wide gastronomic offer.

La Terrazza sul Mare - Snack Bar & Restaurant
Located directly on the Gulf of Follonica, it offers a spectacular view of the entire bay magically giving the
evening a romantic atmosphere. During the summer months La Terrazza is also open for dinner offering
a variety of fish dishes and more. The bar becomes the ideal spot from where to watch the sunset on the

The Golfo del Sole is the ideal destination for those who wish to improve shape, free their mind
and recover balance and serenity thanks to an environment that involves all the senses thanks to
the sea, the sun, relaxation and nature. There are many water sports available: sailing, catamaran
sailing, kayaking, windsurfing, swimming and even more numerous traditional sports:
tennis, swimming, fitness, 5-a-side football, table tennis, minigolf, beach-volley and cycling.
Our staff is dedicated to make your sports holiday fun – they are ready to teach you the secrets of different
disciplines and assist you through courses of various levels and with the help of modern and reliable
equipment. For more information please refer to the programs exposed in the programme boards in front of
the Hotel main entrance and in Reka Square.

Swimming Pools
Golfo del Sole boasts three outdoor heated pools equipped with temperature display. A main pool of 25
meters lenght, a medium-sized pool equipped with a slide as well as a whirlpool with geyser jets for wellness,
and lastly a childrens’ swimming for their first approach to swimming.
Opening hours and rules are exposed just outside of the pool area.
Swimming courses for children
Swimming courses are held regularly in the larger pool from mid-May to mid-October, both as individual
lessons and group lessons with a minimum of 3 participants.
We offer packages of 5 lessons of 30 min. each, spread over the course of a week. Registration must be
carried out on Sunday evening at the reception.
Beach Volley
The Beach Volley courts are located on the beach. Volleyballs can be purchased at the mini market.
Minigolf
A botanical garden that surrounds a recently renovated 18-hole minigolf course is located in the middle of
our resort at full disposal of our guests.
Opening hours and regulation are posted in the bulletin board outside.
Table Tennis
Available for our guests, they are located next to the minigolf area and by the south border of the resort.
Rackets and balls can be purchased at the minimarket.
Fitness Corner

A real haven for fitness lovers. The new area is located directly next to the simming pools and is equipped
with new equipment Technogym like Cardio Wave, Run Excite, Chest Press, Shoulder Press and many others.

Playground areas
Several playground areas are available for children: next to the minigolf area, in the South side of the resort
(by the 280 apartments) and on the beach.
Entertainment
Bicycles Rental
The site of Golfo del Sole is ideal to discover the surroundings by foot and/or by bike. For this reason, we have
designed a bicycle rental service for both adults and children. Conditions of hire and information are available
from the information board in front of the Hotel.

Thanks to recent agreements, our sport offer includes also from this year green fees at Golf Club Toscana “Il
Pelagone”, a 18-hole golf course only 15 minutes away from our resort, at confidential rates for our guests.

Water Sports
Our Boat Club is located in the northern side of the beach.Here you can rent windsurfs, kayak, sailboats,
catamarans and canoes.• Rental, individual lessons and courses • courses for beginners and/or training for
groups (min. 3-max 7 persons) packages of 5 hours to take place in the mornings, during the holiday week.

Pedalo
Pedalo boats can be rented and paid directly at the main beach Snack-Bar La Terrazza from 09:00 - 17:00.
International, day & night, discreete, ideal for both adults and children. The weekly schedule of our
entertainments begins on Sundays at 10:30 in Reka Square with the welcome drink and presentation of
programmes which include following activities: soft exercise sessions, water aerobics, water polo, gamecocktail, soft tournament, beach volleyball, aerobics, group dances, kid’s disco and evening show.
Our entertainment team, made of young and perky staff, will take care of the smaller guests with recreational
activities both within the Miniclub and in the Baby-Parking area within La Pergola restaurant. Romantic dinners
and evenings of relaxation are even possible for parents who can entrust their children to the attention of
our staff certain that they will entertain them in total safety and offering our Baby dinner menu if requested.
Always available to our smaller guests are our minigolf court, the well-equipped playgrounds areas on the
South side of the resort as well as on the beach and the special activities programme “Rekalino” directed by
our staff with games, sports, snacks, themed mini-shows and Kid’s Disco.
Junior Club Every week, based on the number of children present, the entertainment staff will contact
you to explain a programme designed for juniors from 12 to 18.
Live-music at the Pizzeria Every Thursday and Sunday (also Tuesdays during high season): live music
entertainment. Every Friday: award ceremonies for the weekly sports tournaments. Live music, Kids’ Disco.
We recommend you to reserve a table in order not to miss the show.

The Beach
Blue flag – 4 sails
The Golfo del Sole is located on a stretch of coastline directly facing the sea of the Tuscan Maremma and
extends along a sand dune shaded by age-old pines that descends to the center of the Gulf of Follonica. This
sea and this beach are awarded year after year with the prestigious quality mark Blue flag – 4 sails.
The Blue flag label is an international award which was established in 1987, European environment year. It is
annually assigned in 41 countries, initially only in Europe, more recently also outside Europe, with the support
and participation of the two UN agencies: UNEP (United Nations Environment Programme) and UNWTO
(World Tourism Organization) with which the FEE has signed a protocol of partnership
Blue flag is a voluntary eco-label for tourist resorts that meet quality criteria related to sea water parameters
and service offered, taking into account for example cleanliness of beaches and marinas. The main objective
of the programme is guiding the managements of local coastal areas towards a process of environmental
sustainability.
Sea-Urchins and Seaweed Due to tidal currents, variable quantities of seaweed (species: Poseidonia) may be
present on the beach. For environmental reasons these cannot be removed. Please mind the sea-urchins in
proximity of the rocks.
Safety on the beach
In case of accidents please immediately alert our lifeguard on duty. For your safety: a rescue boat is available at
the front beach. For safety reasons, the use of private beach umbrellas is not allowed.
Please note: a red flag means bathing is dangerous; a yellow flag means no surveillance is present.
To allow the proper cleaning of the beach by our staff, please refill any sand-holes and flatten sand castles or
moulds you might have made close to the umbrellas before leaving the beach.
Please note that, as by Italian regulations, throwing cigarette butts or other garbage on the sand is subject to
fine by the local authorities.
Hawkers The management declines any responsibility on items sold or on services rendered on the beach by
illegal sellers. Please note that purchasing of counterfeited items is against the law and can be fined by the
local authorities.

GENERAL INFORMATION
Reception The Reception is open every day 24 hours (ext. 9)
Changing Tables, Baby Cots and High Chairs
Baby-changing facilities are available in the ladies’ washroom by the hotel lobby. Baby cots and linen
(80x120/140 cm.) must be ordered at reservation or at least 2 weeks before arrival. For every baby cot you
order, you will also receive a high chair in your lodging.
Credit Cards We accept the following credit cards: Visa, MasterCard, Eurocard and American Express
(minimum amount: € 50,00). Reka cheques are not accepted in Italy nor at Golfo del Sole resort.
Electricity Current voltage: 220 volts. Electricity is included in the rental cost. Please help us save energy by
turning off unnecessary lights. All lodgings are equipped with standard EU plugs. For foreign guests: please
bring EU plug adaptors with you. New Bungalows are equipped with both CH and EU standards.
Environment & nature
Our village is located in an area of Mediterranean bush. You can come across squirrels, hedgehogs and seagull
but also insects, snakes, rodents and other less likeable animals. Please take all this into consideration while
you can be assured that the management uses the most modern treatments for environmental disinfestations.
Extra Beds Extra beds are available with a supplement and must be requested at reservation. They can only
be placed in rooms in which this is permitted by the official licence. The maximum number of people that
each apartment or hotel-room can accommodate is indicated on the holiday contract. Please note that all our
beds are single, sofa-beds are double where presents (in Bungalows, one-room or two-room apartments).
Some queen beds are available in hotel accommodation. Please verify that the number of people on your
contract is correct – if otherwise, please immediately contact our booking office. Any last-minute addition
must be reported to the reception desk upon arrival as every individual must be registered and have a bed.
For security reasons, the use of inflatable beds, camp-beds, etc. is strictly forbidden. Extra-beds which exceed
the maximum capacity of the lodging indicated in the certified hotelier authorization will not be accepted by
the management. For security reasons visiting guests must register at the reception.
Fire Hazard / Grids & Barbecues If you spot a fire please contact the Reception (ext. 9) immediately. Extinguishers
are present in marked points all over the entire resort. For security reasons the use of personal grills and/or
barbecues is strictly forbidden. Please refrain from throwing lit matches or cigarette butts on the ground.
The entire resort is subject to the protection against Fire laws (D.M. 9/4 1994).
Garbage disposal Golfo del Sole s.p.a. is certified UNI EN ISO 14001:2004 for efficient garbage disposal and
respect of the environment. In proximity of the lodgings unit you can find garbage bins for your garbage.
Additional waste bags can be found at the minimarket. Please use green bins for glass and plastic.
Heating and Air-conditioning All lodgings have heating system, whereas renovated bungalows have
automatic air conditioning (cold/warm). Hotel and dependence rooms have air-conditioning. Additional
blankets can be requested at the reception desk on request.
Info-Point The Info-point is open Sunday thru Friday 09:00-12:30/ 03:00-07:00 pm (ext. 460).
Internet Point – Wi-Fi Zones Internet Points can be found in the hotel lobby and the necessary prepaid Wi-Fi
cards can be purchased at the reception desk. By law surfing is only permitted to adults and a valid identity
document is required. The WiFi card costs € 7,00 for 3 hours and can be recharged for 1, 3, 10 or 24
hours. Also available through pre-paid card is the WiFi zone which covers the hotel lobby and Reka square.
Renovated bungalows have direct access to Internet – you can find rates and instructions of use on spot.
Inventory Every apartment or bungalow has a detailed list indicating all the equipment present. In case you
find any objects are missing, please promptly inform the reception desk. On the table of the dining-room you
will find a form you can fill in case you find any missing objects.
Laundrette / Iron
Located next to the swimming-pools, our laundrette is open daily 08:00 am-8:00 pm.
Price for each washing token is € 4,00, washing powder not included. Drying token: € 3,00. Please sign up
on the booking form before using the launderette. Washing powder and/or softeners can be purchased at
the minimarket. Laundrette tokens are not refundable. In the laundry area during opening times you will also
find an ironing board and an iron.
Linen
Every registered guest in “residence” formula receives the following items: 1 duvet cover, 1 bed sheet, 1
pillowcase, 1 small, 1 medium and 1 large bath-towel, 1 dishcloth, 1 placemat. It is forbidden to take bathtowels to the beach. Every additional linen change costs € 5,00 per person. For long stays (over a week)
the linen change takes place on Saturday. Please leave the dirty linen outside the door so that our staff can
replace it with a clean set.

Lost&Found
Lost items will be mailed at addressee’s expenses. If not requested they will be kept in our lost & found
deposit until the end of the current season, after which they will be disposed of.
Mail & Press Mail can be collected in the early afternoon at the reception desk.
The Management declines any responsibility in regards to the time and manner of delivery. International
newspapers and magazines can be purchased at the mini-market.
Medical assistance/Hospitals/Defibrillator The assistance of a doctor is available on request. Please ask our
reception desk by 12:00 noon if you need an appointment. This service must be paid directly to the doctor.
A supplement is applied during holidays and on weekends. In case of health emergency please contact the
Reception. Please note a defibrillator device is available in the infirmary.
Money Exchange You can change foreign currencies and travelers’ cheques at the reception desk with a fixed
commission.
Pets For hygienic and security purposes pets are not allowed in the village.
Private parking
A covered and numbered private parking is included in the rate. You may request an extra parking space for €
20,00 per week (subject to availability). The daily rate for visiting guests is € 3,00 (subject to availability). The
management declines any responsibility for damages, acts of vandalism and/or thefts suffered by the parked
vehicles. Please remind that short-term parking area is only available for a short time until the lodging and
permanent parking space is assigned by the reception.
Satisfaction Questionnaire/Complaints
A customer satisfaction survey form is available in every lodging unit. We kindly ask you to fill it in and
forward it to the Reception upon departure. We remind you that no refunds are granted for complaints on
cleanliness. Guests are required to avoid damaging the apartment and its equipment and will be responsible
for any damages or losses during their stay.
Starting-kit in apartments and bungalows
Upon arrival you will find the following equipment in your apartment: 1 roll toilet-paper, 1x1,5 l. mineral
water, 1 box of matches (except new Bungalows), 2 bars of soap.
TV and Telephone All lodgings are equipped with TV set and telephone.
Renovated units have Sat-TV, VoIP telephone and direct access to Hi-Speed Internet for a charge.
A deposit will be requested at check-in for the TV remote control. This must be returned to reception desk
upon departure.
Phone calls and Internet charges must be paid at the end of your stay.
Values and Safes Every lodging unit is equipped with a safe operated by a 4-digit personalized id number.
Upon arrival you will find the safe open. Follow the instructions to operate your safe:
1) on the keypad press “R” + the chosen 4-digit pin 2) insert your 4-digit pin once more – the safe closes
3) use the same 4-digit pin for all further uses 4) leave the safe open at departure.
For any other problem regarding your safe please contact the reception desk. The management declines any
responsibility for thefts and/or losses suffered by guests. We therefore highly recommend closing all windows
and doors when leaving the lodging and locking all valuables in the safe.
Water At Golfo del Sole tap water undergoes regular quality tests, however we advise you not to drink it.
Kindly avoid wasting water at all times.
Surroundings
At the center of the Gulf of Follonica, between Punta Ala and Piombino, the Golfo del Sole boasts an ideal
location in the Tuscan Maremma that allows for an array of activities. Nearby you can discover some of the
most breathtaking Italian medieval villages such as Massa Marittima, Suvereto and Campiglia Marittima,
the art cities of Siena, Volterra and Lucca, the Abbey of San Galgano, the Food & Wine Routes for lovers of
gastronomy, and finally nature and archeological parks. The islands of the Tuscan archipelago, Elba, Capraia,
Giglio and Giannutri, are easily reached by ferry from Piombino or with other ferries from Castiglione della
Pescaia. Not far you will also find the Parco dell’Uccellina, an area of beautiful unspoilt nature with the
vegetation and local fauna of the Mediterranean maquis and “Il Giardino dei Tarocchi” by renowned artist
Niki de Saint Phalle.

For its guests Golfo del Sole has drafted a special brochure containing a wide range of excursions nearby and
far (Rome, Florence, Siena, Elba Island, and many others) all at convenient Reka prices. The departure times
are specified in the excursions brochure that you will receive upon arrival or will find at the Infopoint, along
with further information about our surroundings.
