We are pleased to welcome you to the HomeStyles Home Show in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan
from March 10 – 13th, 2016. The Saskatoon & Region Home Builders’ Association is very
pleased that you have chosen to exhibit in HomeStyles 2016. We look forward to making this
show a successful experience for you and your company.
This guide has been designed for your convenience and contains the necessary information for
your participation in the show. We strongly recommend that you read this manual carefully to
familiarize yourself with all of its contents to help you in preparation of your exhibit space. In
addition to this guide, please use the appropriate forms listed on the HomeStyles website to make
direct requests to our official show contractors: Prairieland Park and Handy Special Events.
It is important that the Exhibitor Guide be given to the person directly responsible for
participation in the show as it contains time-sensitive material. Your assistance in meeting
deadlines is greatly appreciated.

HALL DESCRIPTIONS
Hall A – EcoStyles is the newest addition to HomeStyles in 2016! EcoStyles has been designed
to educate our attendees in making cost effective home operating decisions that reduce their
homes’ impact on the environment. EcoStyles is situated next to the main stage that features
HGTV celebrities and local experts, making it a prime location to attract attendees.
HALL C – Marketplace is designed to provide our attendees with a boutique retail experience.
This hall features the Decora Homes Bistro with chef inspired creations and wine pairings.
HALLS D & E – Features over 400 booths occupied by over 200 home building, home
renovation, and supply industry professionals that make it possible for our attendees to Dream.

FINE SCHEDULE
Soliciting
The cost of soliciting is equivalent to the booth price. If fined, an
organization will be unable to participate in the show until payment is
received. Soliciting includes any literature distribution or marketing
material outside of the assigned booth(s), soliciting for employees
from other companies, soliciting business in the aisles outside booth
area.
Early Dismantling
Dismantling and moving any part of booths prior to 5:00 pm on
Sunday is prohibited. Any dismantling, movement, or disruption prior
to 5:00 pm will result in a fine. Exhibitors and the show producers
look unprofessional when booths are dismantled before closing on
Sunday.
Parking
Any vehicle parked in an unauthorized area will be ticketed and towed
at the owner’s expense.
Garbage Disposal
Garbage must be contained within exhibitor booths or properly
disposed of. Spaces are to be kept tidy and adhere to Show
Management expectations.
Default of
Participation
Any exhibitor that is registered for the home show must be moved in
Aisle Restrictions
Exhibitors must remain within their booth space to hand out marketing
material. Exhibitors may not be more than two feet from the front of
their booth to avoid solicitation fines and aisle congestion.
Carpet Removal
Handy Special Events will be removing aisle carpet in Halls D & E
beginning at 5:00pm on Sunday at close. Exhibitors must remain in
their booths or leave the hall while this is happening. Show
Management reserves the right to fine exhibitors if Handy Special
Events finds it necessary.

Any violations of the Rules & Regulations will be dealt with as
Show Management (The Saskatoon & Region Home Builders’

CHECK IN: Exhibitors must check in at the Show Office at Prairieland Park to receive their
exhibitor passes, parking passes and loading bay passes for move out. Companies with
outstanding balances will not be allowed to move in until payment is made.
The show office is located in Hall D by the main entrance.

Overhead doors in Halls A & C close at 6:00pm. Aisle carpeting, vacuuming, and finishing

contained within the booth space by that time.

An Exhibitor Rest Area is located in the main Hall E in the back North West Corner.
COFFEE: All Weather Windows is our coffee sponsor. The coffee cups that you have received
include free coffee when they are presented by an exhibitor at: Concessions A, E & the
Terrace Concession. (Not Available from the Main Concession or Cart Vendor.)
Free coffee refills are available to exhibitors with their All Weather windows cup and exhibitor
pass only.

Forklifts and sign hanging will not be available on Thursday, March 10, 2016, however any
exhibits that require simple set-up (i.e.) materials that can be transported by foot, must set-up
before 12 Noon
A Move-in Coordinator will be on site on March 10 -12, 2016. Exhibitors must comply with the
rules and regulations of the Coordinator, Prairieland Park staff, and Handy Special Events staff.
Verbal abuse will not be tolerated. Any exhibitor that does not comply with staff may not be
allowed entry.
MOVE-IN DEADLINE: 100% complete by 12:00 PM THURSDAY, MARCH 10TH
Each year the Saskatoon & Region Home Builders’ Association recognizes a select number of Exhibitors
for their high quality presentation, enhancement of the visitor’s experience, and exceptional booth design.
Judges will select the best booth presentation in the following categories based on overall attractiveness,
clear signage, organization, cleanliness, and innovation (20 points per): Total 100

SUNDAY, MARCH 13TH - MOVE OUT SCHEDULE
HomeStyles ends at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 13, 2016. Exhibitors in Halls D & E must clear
the aisles of personnel, dollies, crates and equipment between 5:00 pm and 6:00 pm while Handy
Special Events removes aisle carpeting. All exhibitors are invited to Hall A for a complimentary
appreciation dinner (Meal Voucher Required).
Removal and dismantling of exhibits or exhibit materials will NOT be permitted before 5:00 p.m.
on Sunday, March 13, 2016. Early dismantling of your booth will result in a fine from Show
Management. See HomeStyles Contract:
“Under no circumstances shall any portion of an exhibit be removed from the exhibit premises during the continuance
of the exhibition without prior written permission of the Licensor.”
Red and yellow parking passes will be provided to exhibitors upon check in at the show office.
These passes are only required during move out for vehicles parked in loading areas. All
Exhibitors will be provided with parking passes that must be displayed at all times in the exhibitor
parking lot during move in and show hours.

Parking procedures have been implemented for exhibitors to minimize parking shortages for consumers,
and minimize congestion in the loading areas.
 Exhibitor trailers must be parked in “Exhibitor Trailer Parking” by 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday,
March 9th, 2016. Please ensure that all materials required are unloaded by this time. NO
TRAILERS ARE TO BE PARKED IN THE FRONT PARKING LOT OR PUBLIC
PARKING AREA.
 Exhibitors must have their vehicles parked in the Exhibition parking area North East of Hall E by
11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 10, 2016.
 Parking and Loading Passes will be given out at the Show Office when you check in. If your
company needs more than 2 passes please advise the show office.
NEW: These passes are required to be displayed during all show hours.
This parking arrangement will be enforced throughout the weekend.
Exhibitor vehicles found in the visitor parking area will be
towed to exhibitor area at exhibitor’s expense. ABSOLUTELY NO TRAILERS OR VEHICLES
WITH VISIBLE SIGNAGE ARE PERMITTED IN THE PUBLIC PARKING AREA.

RULES & REGULATIONS
Show Management reserves the right to make such changes, amendments and additions to the rules
and regulations as shall be considered necessary to properly conduct the HomeStyles Home Show.
Alcohol Regulations
Pursuant to the Saskatchewan Liquor & Gaming regulations, alcohol is not permitted on the
premises except where under license.
Booth Design
& Construction
A) HEIGHT – If any booth display will exceed 12’ in height, the exhibitor is required to
submit a design and layout to Show Management for approval.
B) DRAPE – All booths will be supplied with 8´ draping at the back, and either 8´ or 3´
draping on the side depending on the location of the booth. Nothing is to be pinned or
stapled to the drape.
All solid walls must be neatly finished on both sides. It is the Exhibitor’s responsibility and
expense to order draping to cover any unfinished walls. Show Management reserves the
right to inspect booth construction in the interest of public safety. If any element of an
exhibit poses potential for harm to the public, the exhibitor will be asked to rectify the
situation by eliminating such potential for harm.
C) FLOORING – Appropriate floor covering is mandatory and must cover the entire
surface of exhibit in Halls D and E. This could be carpet, interlocking stone, ceramic tile,
linoleum, etc. Exhibitors wishing to lay tile or other floor covering, or build any structure,
may not adhere it directly to the building floor. It is required that building paper, plastic
sheeting, or some other suitable protection be laid on the building floor. Where two-sided
adhesive tape is used, it must be completely removed by the exhibitor while dismantling.
Floor covering must not extend past the perimeter of your booth space. Carpet can be
ordered through Handy Special Events. Affordable rubber puzzle flooring pieces are
acceptable.
D) SIGNAGE – Exhibitors are responsible for providing proper wire or chain links to
hang signs before they are given to Prairieland Park to hang.
Price signs pertaining to competition are not permitted. Where price must be advertised,
signs must be small, neat and inoffensive and the Saskatoon & Region Home Builders’
Association shall have the right to prescribe the character and number.
Banner Hanging – Please contact Prairieland Park well in advance of the show to
arrange for banner hanging. Banners cannot always be hung over your exhibit due to
the limitations of the ceiling beams. Any banners or signage deemed inappropriate by
Show Management will be removed at the exhibitor’s expense.
All other signage must be incorporated into your exhibit and not exceed overall height of 10
ft and may not be double sided where it faces directly into a neighboring booth. Any sign
displayed above the uppermost edge of your booth walls must be tastefully finished on all
sides.
All signs must be delivered to the Prairieland Park help desk by 11:00am on
Wednesday, March 9, 2016. All signs must be hung by 7:00pm on Wednesday.

Cleaning
Exhibitors are responsible for cleaning their exhibit or having it done through Handy
Special Events, which includes vacuuming, dusting, garbage removal, etc. Aisles in the
Hall will be cleaned prior to the show opening each day. Cleaning Services can be ordered
through Handy Special Events by filling out the Handy Cleaning Services Form enclosed,
Electrical Services
Prairieland Park provides each booth with 1 – 110v, 15 AMP electrical outlet.
EXTENSION CORDS ARE NOT PROVIDED. Additional electrical requirements must
be pre-ordered through Prairieland Park. Please use the Electrical Order Form enclosed.
Exhibitor Passes
Exhibitors will receive the following:

Exhibitor Contract
The online booking form you completed to book your exhibitor space is considered your
signed contract. As of the moment you checked the, “I have read and agree to the terms
and conditions” you entered into an agreement to adhere to the terms and condition set by
the Saskatoon and Region Home Builders’ Association for exhibitor participation in the
HomeStyles Home Show. The agreement confirms your booth rental and outlines the terms.
In the event that the Terms and Conditions are not followed, Show Management reserves
the right to re-sell any booth space to another exhibitor. No refunds will be issued.
Fire Regulations
& Flame Proofing
Neither your booth, nor the gas connections, may infringe on the booth behind or beside
you. Gas connections must be accessible at all times, in the event of an emergency.
Highly visible signage must be used on each burn unit to warn parents of burn hazards to
children, including the outside drape if facing the aisle.

Food Restrictions
Popcorn and peanuts in the shell are not permitted at the show.
Forklift Services
Exhibitors requiring the use of a forklift must move in prior to 5:00 pm on Wednesday,
March 9, 2016. Contact the Move-in Coordinator upon arrival to arrange forklift services.
Insurance (Please

As per the exhibitor contract, transfer of liability is a requirement of show exhibitors.
Please name The Saskatoon & Region Home Builders’ Association as a co-insured on
your policy.
Pursuant to a request from our insurance carrier, all HomeStyles exhibitors are required to
provide a certificate of public liability insurance of $2,000,000. Certificates of Liability
must be received by Show Management no later than February 26, 2016.

Internet
High Speed and Wireless Internet is available through Prairieland Park. Please use the
enclosed order form to purchase.

Microphones
The use of microphones is NOT permitted on the show floor unless pre-approved by Show
Management. Show Management reserves the right to request the volume be turned down
at any time during show hours.
Propane, Helium,
Natural Gas,
Compressed Air
Flammable, combustible, and/or compressed gasses including propane may be used or
displayed with approval of SFPS Fire Marshall. Any such installations may be subject to
gas inspections by the Gas Inspector. Propane must have an approved restriction device and
be no larger than 5 lb. With regards to aerosols, pressurized containers (not exceeding 500
ml capacity of each product classified as a flammable liquid) may be exhibited.
Restrictions do not apply to non-flammable products.
Security Services
Exhibitors are responsible for their own booth security during show hours. Be sure to
secure your product each night at closing. Security personnel will be on duty 24 hours a
day. Show Management and Security are not responsible for any losses incurred.
Shipping/Material
Handling
Advanced Material Handling: Contact Handy Special Events (1‐306‐933‐2727) to arrange
for advanced material handling. All shipments are to be prepaid and clearly marked.
Show Management will not accept C.O.D. shipments. The booth number(s) must be clearly
identified on the bill of lading.
Shipping Directly to Venue: If you wish to ship your materials directly to Prairieland Park,
they will only be accepted between Monday, March 7, 2016 and Friday, March 11, 2016.
All shipments are to be prepaid and clearly marked. Show Management will not accept
C.O.D. shipments. The booth number(s) must be clearly identified on the bill of lading.

Soliciting
The set up and tear down of an exhibit floor is defined by law as a construction zone. As
such, safety shoes and protective eyewear and headgear are strongly recommended in most
cases and required in others. Keep your work area safe, clean, and tidy. Unsecured wires,
trip hazards, and sharp edges are everyone’s concerns, and the responsibility of each
exhibitor. Companies not adhering to safe practices may be prohibited from participating in
future HomeStyles shows.

Prairieland Park is a non-smoking building. Smoking is permitted outside the building in
designated smoking areas only.
Soliciting by an exhibiting company is not permitted in the aisles, in other exhibitor’s
booths, at any building entrance/exit, or anywhere on the property
of Prairieland Park.
Soliciting of business and distribution of samples, souvenirs, and literature, including
solicitation by costumed personnel, must be confined to the exhibitor space.
Soliciting of exhibitors and visitors by non-exhibiting companies is strictly prohibited and
should be reported to Show Management immediately.
Sound Systems
Home Entertainment, music and other exhibitors producing sound must keep sound to a
minimum within their own exhibit. Show Management reserves the right to control sound
levels or in the event it becomes a nuisance to other exhibitors.
The use of live bands, recorded music, public address systems, etc. is not permitted on the
show floor or within the grounds of Prairieland Park unless authorized by Show
Management.
Storage
Limited storage will be available on site and IS NOT guaranteed or available for the storage
of product or marketing material for the show.
Subletting of
Exhibit Space
Exhibitors are not permitted to sublet their space. Exhibitors may not promote another
company’s name, product(s), or service(s) unless the other company is contracted to exhibit
in the show, or the other company is a usual supplier of product(s) to the exhibitor for the
purpose of resale. Management reserves the right to deny any application where the above
conditions have been breached. If a company wishes to share their booth space, all
parties must sign a contract and provide liability insurance.

TRADESHOW FIRE PREVENTION
1. The Saskatoon Fire and Protective Services will be inspecting each booth prior to the show opening.
2. Saskatoon Prairieland Park has portable fire extinguishers, in conformance with the National Fire Code of Canada,
throughout the facilities and are available at all times.
3. Fixed fire extinguishing systems are required for temporary commercial cooking venues.
4. Saskatoon Prairieland Park has fire alarm systems throughout the facilities that are accessible in case of a fire.
5. Displays located in areas where conditions are hazardous if smoking or open flame could cause a fire or explosion
No Smoking Signs must be posted.
6. Displays may not block, impede, or obstruct a fire exit from view. Should the sight-line of such exits be affected, the
Saskatoon Fire & Protective Services (SFPS) Fire Marshal may provide alternative plans.
7. Displays may not restrict access to or obstruct from view any fire hose cabinet, fire hydrant, or fire department
connection.
8. When booth layouts are done, care must be taken to avoid dead corridors with appropriate fire aisles designated.
9. Decorative covers or booths shall be flame-proofed or properly treated with a flame-retardant chemical.
10. If the following materials are used for display or decorative purposes, they must be flame-retardant or, in case of
natural foliage, treated with an anti-dormant spray:
► Artificial flowers ► Artificial / natural foliage ► Plastic materials ► Textiles
► Paper, cardboard, or compressed paperboard ► any other material used for festive decoration
Wallpaper is permitted if pasted securely to walls or wallboard backing.
11. The following materials may be used indoors under certain circumstances with special permission:
► Straw and hay
► Acetate fabrics ► Corrugated paper ► Flammable liquid
► Paper-backed foil ► Combustible material used for covering or skirting tables
12. It is necessary to flame-proof textiles, paper, and other combustible merchandise on display. This may be limited
to an acceptable quantity.
13. Open flame shall not be used solely for attracting attention.
14. The use of open flame is limited to equipment that requires open flame to demonstrate the function of such
equipment. Approval is required from the SFPS Fire Marshal, who will ensure that the equipment set-up complies with
safety standards. An approved fire extinguisher will be required in the display area.
15. Flammable, combustible, and / or compressed gases including propane may be used or displayed with approval
of the SFPS Fire Marshal. Any such installations may be subject to gas inspections by the Gas Inspector. Propane
must have an approved restriction device and be no larger than 5 lb. With regard to aerosols, pressurized containers
(not exceeding 500 ml capacity of each product classified as a flammable liquid) may be exhibited. Restrictions do
not apply to non-flammable products.
16. Internal combustion engines, vehicles, or equipment cannot contain more than one-quarter tank of gasoline or
fuel and must be inoperable, e.g. battery and / or ignition disconnected, or the vehicle is locked and the hood cannot
be opened from the outside of the vehicle. Fuel caps must be taped or locked shut, drip pans are required under all
vehicles while inside the facility, and keys are to be left with the SPPC Events Office. Vehicles that are equipped with
pressurized nitrous oxide tanks must have the tanks empties prior to display in the facility.
17. Boxes and cartons from which merchandise has been removed must be neatly piled in storage areas designated
by SPPC or the SFPS Fire Marshal.
18. All electrical appliances, electrical cords, and electrical connections must be CSA approved. All outlet bars must
be fused.
19. Any booth which may pose a particular hazard by the storage or actions within must provide a portable fire
extinguisher with a minimum rating of 5 – 20 lb, type ABC. This will include cooking, use of propane, etc. Only one
propane tank permitted in a booth at a time. Additional tanks must go to designated storage area.
20. If it is deemed by SPPC that a display or action of any exhibitor may affect public safety, the exhibitor shall accept
the required changes or event management shall be required to evict the exhibitor.
21. These guidelines to fire safety are general requirements only. For more detailed information, please contact

22. Saskatoon Fire & Protective Services has final say in all matters concern the Fire Regulations that are in place at
