Heats Water Up To 8 Times Faster Than Other Systems How Do Other Systems Compare With Hot Water Maker®? Tankless Coils Hot Water Maker® 1 “Instantaneous hot water” only when boiler is hot and wasting heat. 1 High performance insulation keeps water hot even when boiler is off. 2 Boiler may cycle every hour even when you’re not using hot water, wasting energy and money. 3 Cannot support high flows (3-5 GPM). Insufficient for simultaneous shower and dishwasher use. Gas-Fired and Oil-Fired Models 4 Glass-lined or cement linings can crack or peel, causing early failure. 5 Cool air drawn up center flue quickly cools heated water, wasting energy and money. 2 Minimal boiler on/off cycling, saving you up to half the fuel used by tankless coils. 3 Abundant hot water to serve all your fixtures. Hot Water Maker®® Advantages 4 Unique inner liner is crack-proof, resulting in long life. 5 No energy-wasting center flue. High performance insulation completely surrounds stored hot water. Electric Models 6 Rapid recovery for continuous hot water. Heat up 40 gallons in as fast as 12 minutes. 6 May take over 2 hours to heat 40 gallons of water. 7 Indirects: the most effective means to heat water according to ACEEE (American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy). 7 High cost of electricity makes this the most expensive way to heat water. The Original Indirect-Fired Hot Water Maker® Designed for High-Efficiency and Long Life Maximized Heat Transfer Technology Our design begins with copper for maximum heat transfer. Copper conducts heat: • 8 times faster than cupronickel. • 25 times faster than stainless steel. Maximized height/diameter spacing to create a chimney-effect of thermal currents which scrubs more heat into the water faster. High output capabilities to handle larger boilers (up to 140,000 Btu/hr. output). Triple-Shell Design For Performance That Lasts 1. Seamless inner polyethylene water reservoir – not a sprayed-on glass or epoxy coating. • Nonmetallic and corrosion-proof for long operating life. 2. High performance, CFC-free molded insulation – rigid urethane shell completely surrounds reservoir to keep water hot longer. 3. Deep drawn outer steel shell protects against rough handling. This pressure retention shell is rated to 150 psi and features a tough, two-part appliance-like finish. TM How the SmartControl Works SmartControl TM Designed to Maximize Your Hot Water Maker Efficiency The normal heat cycle of your indirect water heater involves turning your boiler on to make heat, and turning your circulator pump on to deliver it. —up to 15% savings— Yearly Savings Equals: ▲ 200 free showers, ▲ 160 loads of whites, ▲ 100 whirlpool baths, ▲ or 300 loads of dishes free! When the water heater reaches its required setting, the boiler and circulator are shut down. The boiler is full of undelivered heat. If left untapped, this heat is wasted up the chimney or into the surrounding room. Tamper resistant temperature setting stays set – can’t easily be changed by children. The SmartControl , with boiler heat TM purge cycle, monitors your water heater temperature, shutting down your boiler before the potable water reaches the required setting. The circulator pump remains on for a period of time, to continue to transfer energy from your boiler into your Hot Water Maker®. It is the sum of the usable storage capacity plus the amount of heated water generated during the 60 minute period. The rate is based on: • 90°F temperature rise • Boiler mass heat sink equivalent to 10 lbs. of water • No low-limit on boiler WH-9, 26 Series Hot Water Maker® Features: • 26 gallon storage • Outperforms an 80-gallon electric water heater • Compact design to fit small spaces • Electronic SmartControl - Standard Available Models: WH-9L, WH-9Z, WH-9L-DW, WH-9Z-DW, WH-26L, WH-26Z WH-7, 41 Series Hot Water Maker® Features: • 41 gallon storage • Most popular model • Recharge 41 gallons as fast as 12 minutes • Electronic SmartControl - Standard Available Models: WH-7L, WH-7Z, WH-7L-DW, WH-7Z-DW, WH-7P, WH-41L, WH-41Z WH-7C Hot Water Maker® Features: • 41 gallon storage • Advanced integrated recovery and storage design for uniform temperatures • Electronic SmartControl - Standard • Rapid recovery • Available in single- or double-wall construction Available Models: WH-7C, WH-7C-DW It should not be considered a true measurement of performance or recovery during a normal intermittent (real world) draw period of 24 hours. During such real-world usage, the actual recovery ability of the water heater may be more or less than the “first-hour” rating, depending upon usage and installation parameters. Continuous Flow - the domestic water flow that absorbs boiler heat output.
