Page 16 mAINTENANCE n Adjusting Gear Mesh Whenyouchangethepiniongearand/orspurgear,youmustreadjustthegearmeshtoensureproperoperation.Inaddition,thegearmesh shouldbecheckedperiodically.Duringprolongedusethemotormayshiftslightly,causingthegearmeshtobeincorrect.Ifthegearmesh istooloose,thegearsmaystripout.Ifthegearmeshissettootight,thegearswillbind,causingdamagetothegearsand/orthemotor. Once in a while, remove the wheels and clean the wheel bearings, using a bearing cleaner. This will remove any dust and grit that may,overtime,damagethebearings.Aftercleaningthebearings,oilthemusingagoodqualitybearingoil.Neverrunthebearings dryordamagetothebearingswillresult. After a period of time the chassis will accumulate a lot of dirt and debris. This buildup should be cleaned off using a soft brush and compressedair.
