A. When does the House league season begin and end? The House league season begins April 11th and will end with Championship weekend scheduled for the th th weekend of June 19 and June 20 2016. Player evaluation and assigning players to teams will begin the th week of April 4 . Q. My son/daughter would like to play on the same team as (insert other players), can you please ensure they are on the same team? WMLA will consider requests when they are submitted; however, WMLA’s priority will be to ensure that house league teams are balanced and equitable to ensure a fun playing environment for all players. Therefore, requests cannot be guaranteed. A. Q. A. How are children assigned to teams? This upcoming season we will be taking a new approach to help ensure more balanced and equitable teams. A third party organization will be running player evaluations during the week of April 4th. These evaluations will be used to build the teams for the 2016 season. Q. A. When will I receive the season schedule? Once the evaluations are complete the teams will be built, coaches assigned and schedules will be uploaded to league toolbox. This will only be able to occur the first week that the season begins. You will receive an email when the schedules have been uploaded to League Toolbox. Q. A. Will the team my child plays on be co-ed? Until registration is complete and we determine the number of players registered we cannot yet confirm whether a division will be co-ed. Soft lax, Paperweight and Tyke play co-ed. Q. A. Will any divisions be combined for the 2016 season? For this upcoming 2016 season we are expecting the breakdown for divisions as follows: Soft Lax Jr. Paperweight Sr. Paperweight Minor Tyke Major Tyke Minor Novice Major Novice Peewee Bantam Midget/Intermediate Combined 3 and 4 year olds Divided Divided Divided Divided Divided Divided Combined – Minor/Major Peewee Combined – Minor / Major Bantam Combined – Minor/Major Midget and Intermediate (if any) All divisions are built once registration closes. Our intent is to maintain separate divisions; however, if we do not have enough registered players in a division we may need to look at either combining divisions or moving to 4V4. An email will be sent to communicate to all registered players in a division should a change be required.
