A Golden Affair - Knoxville Opera
The Knoxville Opera Guild
welcomes you to the 2012 Opera Ball
WE LOVE OPERA! The Knoxville Opera Guild (KOG) is a non-profit
volunteer organization created in 1992. We work to make opera available in the
Greater Knoxville area. Through a variety of fundraising events, the KOG raises
approximately $100,000 annually for Knoxville Opera.
WE FOSTER YOUNG TALENT. By working with regional and national
organizations, we encourage and support aspiring, young operatic talent.
For example, working with the Nashville Opera Guild, we host and financially
support the annual Metropolitan Opera National Council District Auditions
program. We also support the University of Tennessee’s School of Music Opera
Theatre program.
WE LOVE MAKING NEW FRIENDS. Through a variety of social events, we
provide a structure wherein opera lovers can network. Some of the events at which
you can get to know others in our opera community are our annual membership
party, Opening Night Dinners, Monday Night Opera dinners, annual Martini
Party and annual Croquet Tournament. So, if you like opera, we want to meet you.
Many wonderful friendships have begun at our social events. Carolyn Townsend,
first President of the Guild, once wrote, “I cherish the friends I would probably
have never met if it were not for the Opera Guild.”
JOIN US! The Guild has a variety of involvement levels and volunteer needs; one
will be just right for you. Call 865.524.0795 Ext. 8 for information or visit
