Akin Konizi grew up in the heart of London. He attended a well-appointed grammar school and learned
early on the value of education. When it came time to decide on a career, Akin wanted to do something
that involved his hands as well as his head, so scored an apprenticeship at a salon in London’s Leicester
Square that also included a training academy. After three years, he moved out into the suburbs to get an
alternative taste of what hairdressing life was like outside the West End. Eventually Akin took the plunge
and opened his own salon just outside the West End. Today under Akin’s guidance and tutelage, HOB
Salons has become an award-winning group and his accolades include London Hairdresser of the Year,
Fellowship Hairdresser of the Year and the British Masters Award. This unique opportunity will give you a
chance to get to know Akin not only creatively but intellectually as well.
