Stahl* Recovered Fold Rollers
Recovered Fold Rollers are economical way to return life to your folder.
You should consider to recover your
fold rollers if:
■ The steel is not excessively worn.
■ You can be without your folder for the
period of recovery.
■ If price is a consideration.

The Recovery Process:
■ Roller is received and inspected to see if the
roller is a candidate for recovery to see if there
is excessive steel wear or journal wear. If we
determine that the roller is not a candidate for
recovery you will be contacted to discuses
your options before we proceed.
■ Old material is stripped off.
■ Core is straightened.
■ Your choice of new urethane material is applied
(standard poly urethane or Soft P.U. foam).
■ Urethane is ground to OEM specs.
■ Final inspection

A point to remember:
The best job of fold roll recovery will not duplicate the quality of a new set of fold rollers
due to the previous wear in the steel of the recovered rollers.

Our combination fold rollers are produced with special steel and knurl that matches OEM parts.
They are covered with your choice of standard poly urethane or special soft urethane (foam).
MBO Spiral Fold Rollers are also produced with the same high quality steel. OEM style knurl
and then covered in either standard urethane or super grip foam urethane.

Regrinding MBO* Fold Rollers
The process for reconditioning an MBO* fold roller is a slightly different process than Stahl or Baum.
On a Stahl or Baum, the urethane is physically replaced.
MBO* style rollers do not receive new urethane, rather a portion of the total diameter is removed,
thus correcting the imperfections and returning the roller to OEM specs.
MBO* fold roller wears in 2 ways:
■ The roller develops high and low spots giving you an inconsistent grip.
■ The roller wears in a concave fashion, typically from use in one spot.
No contact in center of roller
Diameter reduced on outside
Rollers touch on outside
Full contact across the length of roller

When the roller is reground, a portion of the total diameter is removed thereby eliminating
the concave structure.

As with all other fold rollers, some rollers will not be able to be reground. Excessive body and journal
wear will make a roller unacceptable for regrinding. If this is the case you will be contacted regarding
your options.
