Dolph`s Resins and Varnishes
Dolph’s Resins and Varnishes In May 2013 Von Roll acquired the Albesiano Sisa Vernici company, Dolph’s exclusive. We Enable Energy Von Roll is a global market leader for electrical insulation products. It is the only company worldwide to provide the complete range of electrical insulation products, systems and services for the electro-technical industry, generators, high- and low-voltage motors, transformers and other electrical applications. Customers enjoy the following benefits: » One single source for all insulating materials » Thorough expertise for efficient insulation » Proven compatibility for system components » Testing at Von Roll of both materials and systems » Consulting for applications and technologies » Training in insulation materials and systems In May 2013 Von Roll bought the Italian company Albesiano Sisa Vernici S.r.l, which has over 150 years of expertise and a strong commitment to resins and varnishes. This important step, together with the takeover of the American company John C. Dolph’s in 2007, enables us to expand our portfolio of resins and varnishes and to offer our customers optimized services, including: » An extended value chain and distribution network » Enhanced core competence and a strong research and development department » Coherent system solutions, tested by a highly committed application laboratory team. With liquids production plants in Europe (2), America (2), China (1) and India (1), Von Roll has an excellent presence, a comprehensive network and expertise in resins and varnishes worldwide. Worldwide Network Dolph’s Resins and Varnishes Impregnation Dipping Dipping is the most common impregnation process for any kind of low-voltage electrical material, such as motors, generators or transformers. It is highly versatile and seems very easy. Nevertheless, the resin choice is always highly critical due to environmental constraints (smell, fire risks, irritation, toxicity and more) process issues (stability, viscosity, reactivity, productivity and more) and the ultimate technical properties (thermal class, chemical resistance, electrical properties, bonding strength and more). Impregnation dipping of ballasts 3 4 Dolph’s Resins and Varnishes Vacuum Pressure Impregnation (VPI) VPI (vacuum pressure impregnation) is mainly used when penetration and filling factor of the resin has to be improved. Dolph’s proposes a large choice of resins and varnishes, solvent based as well as solvent free which can suit any process and properties. Vertical Vacuum pressure impregnation machines Dolph’s Resins and Varnishes Impregnation Trickling & Roll Through Trickling and roll-through processes are more convenient when high productivity is required on standard little/medium motors and generators sizes. These two processes allow higher resin filling factor with less resin usage. Due to hot processes the resin quality maintenance has to be carefully managed. Dolph’s has developed and optimized a complete range of resins – that combine safety, quality and fast processing.
