retailer collections.
The Indie Beauty Expo (iBE) was founded to support
the growth and success of independent beauty brands
and the entrepreneurs behind them.
Anthology serves as a visual summary of each iBE.
Here you will find a collection of today’s best beauty
brands and a celebration of the passion and independent spirit that drives our community.
We would like to thank everyone who joined us in Los
Angeles to make the launch of iBE LA an incredible

After a successful launch in New York, we brought iBE to Los
Angeles. Los Angeles is the second-largest retail market in the
US, with its own distinct culture, trends and community of brands,
buyers and consumers.
We selected the Shrine Auditorium as our venue because of its rich
history and architectural beauty, which reflects the indie spirit of
creativity, individuality and respect for heritage.
Over a hundred brands participated at iBE LA and over five times
the number of attendees, buyers, press, trade and consumers
were present than in New York. Speakers, panels and workshops
featured industry leaders and beauty experts across all categories.
In short, it was a beauty lover’s utopia of discovery and inspiration.

clean-up after a long bike ride and before heading
out to a work meeting. The thought of not “stinking” and how nice it would be to have a product

The term of “shower-less” was discussed and
long talks on how a product could be made that

In 2011 Violets’ founder, Cynthia Besteman,
received a devastating diagnosis of breast cancer.
She believed she had led a healthful life, so she
