PARISH MISSION
STATEMENT
St. Patrick Parish committed to the
Eucharist and guided by the Holy Spirit strives to be
a welcoming presence to all, reaching out to the
spiritual, emotional, educational, social and material
needs of all God’s children, both in our parish and
beyond. We hope in this way to show our love for
God, not only by what we say, but by the way we
live our lives.

Congratulations: (CCC 1227)
“According to the Apostle Paul, the believer enters
through Baptism into communion with Christ’s
death, is buried with him and rises with him….The
baptized have ‘put on Christ.’ Through the Holy
Spirit, Baptism is a bath that purifies, justifies, and
sanctifies.” Remember to pray for our newly
baptized who have entered the Body of Christ on:
May 1, 2016, Giovanni Francesco Bruno, son of
Robert & Sarah Bruno
May 1, 2016, Sienna Amalia Bruno, daughter of
Robert & Sarah Bruno
May 3, 2016, Sebastian Marcus Koch, son of
Andrew & Eszter (Szkalak) Koch
May 7, 2016, Katerina Boldolirev, daughter of
Vadim & Karla (Sanchez) Boldolirev
May 8, 2016, Carmela Rose DiPietro, daughter of

St. Patrick's Prayer Shawl Ministry
SOCIAL JUSTICE MINISTRY OF ST PATRICK
TAKES OFF
This is the first year of the social justice ministry at St
Patrick’s and we already have approximately 40
members. This ministry believes in negotiating with
Government officials to make “structural changes” in
improving the lives of the most vulnerable. To have
the power of numbers we join hands with 22 other
religious congregations (Episcopalians, Baptists,
Unitarians, Evangelicals, Congregationalists, and
other Catholic parishes) in a common organization
called PEACE.
A large group of us attended the Nehemiah Action
on March 14, when approximately 2,200 people, put
forward proposals to the County Commissioners and
the Police regarding the following issues:
1) We asked the State Attorney to stop the practice
of arresting youth for non serious misdemeanors,
and instead induct the youth in the program of
civil citations, where they learn to take
responsibility, apologize and do restitution or
community service for the damage done. The
State Attorney has agreed to work with us on this
program.
2) We asked the County Commissioners to assure us
of a dedicated source of funding to end
homelessness in Palm Beach County. They too
agreed.
3) We asked the Sheriff of Palm Beach County to
accept consular IDs for those undocumented
who cannot get driver licenses, instead of simply
arresting them and getting them deported. The
Sheriff has since sent us his newly adopted policy
by which they will do just this!
During the year we will follow up and monitor these
officials and public organizations to see that they are
doing what they promised to do.
If you are interested in joining this ministry - and
making “structural” changes to the lives of vulnerable
people - you can contact us through the Parish Office
or through our coordinator, Toni Parker
(tel: 561.308.1694)
Our spiritual animator is Fr. John DMello
Pentecost Sunday
Young Adult Prayer Series!
Do you have a hard time praying? Do you find it hard
to focus? Is your mind racing with things you have to
do while you are trying to focus on praying? Is prayer
an overall struggle and chore for you? If so, you may
need a different way to pray! The Ascension Young
Adult group will be starting a five week long prayer
series. We will explore unique and different forms of
prayer that are not your usual prayer types or
methods.
All young adults age 18-35 are
invited to come explore the
vast prayer forms we can use
to deepen our
relationship with the Lord.
We hope to see you there!
Ministry for the Sick and Homebound
Perhaps you are aware of a fellow parishioner, or a
friend who is homebound due to a recent
hospitalization or an illness whether acute or
terminal, or is frail and unable to attend mass. Do you
know anyone who is presently in a health care facility,
nursing home, assisted living facility, rehab and/ or
local hospital who is "homesick" for our parish?
Volunteers are available to visit your friends and
family members regularly. They bring a connection to
our parish as well as support, comfort, socialization
and a spiritual presence. When requested, they offer
the Eucharist. Don't hesitate! Call the
parish office during business hours.
You will find assistance and help to
arrange a visit call 561-626-8626.

celebration of the holy mass. If your child
is interested in learning more about training
