Replaces DataWeld, Great Plains, & Corporate Radar!
“After evaluating the current state of our business systems and processes and comparing that to where we need to be, it became obvious that our current software
system could no longer support our business objectives moving forward. We selected
TECSYS’ EliteSeries because of its inherent support of “best practices” and the ability to extend the system to support our unique requirements. The solution’s fit to our
industry is “out of the box” as well as the ability to support the “kaizen philosophy”; in essence it is delivery and service quality
at the lowest cost that was attractive to us. Our decision was very timely! The slower business climate allows us to focus on
restructuring our business processes on a solid footing and deploy technology to get ready for the challenges ahead when the
recovery takes full effect.”
Scott Chenoweth, President
TecSys is a supply chain management software that delivers

everyone, from a warehouseman to the President, the information they need, when they need it,
no matter where they are. As such,
everyone gets better informed, works
smarter, and makes better decisions.

2009 Safety Recap
Karl Price Safety Hero!
Safety Trends
Something like that takes a lot of focus
on the most important thing – which is,
everyone goes home looking the same
as when they came to work with all their
fingers and toes.
Last June Karl noticed Alejandro Hernandez didn’t appear to feel well while working in the cylinder sorting island. After a
closer look Karl realized that Alejandro
needed to get checked out. It was later
determined that he had Heat Stress. If it
were not for Karl’s intervention, the condition could have resulted in complications.
For taking decisive action that prevented
a serious heat related injury, we honor
Karl Price as a TWSCO Safety Hero!
Even though
there was a
downturn in
the economy
in 2009, our
safety record
for the year was much improved from
previous years. The steady decline in
the number and frequency of incidents
is something we should all be proud
of. The reduction of our injury rate from
11 to under 2 in two year’s time shows
commitment. That’s a 550% reduction.
A couple other safety milestones were
achieved. As a company, we put in over
500,000 work hours without an injury
that caused an employee to lose work
time (From Feb. 2008 to December
2009). Twice during this time we worked
200,000 hours with out any injury worse
than a first aid.
We are not quite where I would like to be
because we still had 4 injuries this year.
My goal each year is to be able to say at
the end of the year nobody got hurt. With
the improvement over the last 2 years,
I am hopeful we will be able to say in
January 2011 that “In 2010 TWSCO went
completely injury free”.
The commitment of everyone, from the
most tenured employee to the most recent, is very important while we improve
our safety record. Thanks to the Executive Team for allowing me to do the things
that make the workplace a safer environment, and also thanks to the employees
paying attention to their work activities
everyday. Your attitudes and performance makes my job easy.
Joe Johnston, Safety Manager
2009 wrapped up our 4th full year of continuous process improvement. Since inception we have seen significant measurable cost
savings, innovaton, and improved processes that have directly impacted our bottom line as well as customer satisfaction – both
externally and internally. The most important area that we focus on is Customer Satisfaction. Externally our customer satisfaction
remains at 99%. Internally, we have improved customer satisfaction from 74% to 90%! Big Improvement! As such, our employee
retention rate has improved and turnover decreased by 21% Outlined below are just a few summarized accomplishments for 2009.
In total, we implemented nine (9) events, which three are summarized below. Thanks to each of you for your participation!
Customer Satisfaction at 99%
High Level Objectives
Local Scorecard
TWSCO Develops “Local Score Cards”
Mid-year, TWSCO learned, introduced, and implemented a
new continuous process improvement tool called “Local Scorecards.” The objective of this new tool is to assemble line-level
employees and middle-level managers to brainstorm and discuss specific elements of the job that they perform on a daily basis, and how it directly contributes to and affects our high level
objectives. An employee understanding how their job directly
contributes to customer satisfaction and linkage to the high level
objectives sets the foundation of the Kaizen process, and ultimately its cultural sustainment.
Department managers participated in leading their teams to
develop Local Scorecards. Once completed, these scorecards
have become a critical metric addition to each department storyboard. Below is a picture of Mike Rincones training the Fill
Plant, and to the upper right an illustration of what a Local Score
Card looks like, and how it links to the High Level Objectives.

Focus on Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)!
As we continue to deepen the root system of continuous process improvement, we are focusing more on formal written Standard Operating Procedures, also known as SOP’s. An SOP is a “set of instructions” which lend
themselves to a defined standardized procedure that ensures consistency
and efficiency, without loss of effectiveness.
In order to easily locate and utilize our Standard Operating Procedures, we
have created a centralized location on the intranet. When you are at the
internet, you may locate the tab illustrated “SOP.” Once you click on this tab
it will bring you to a page (as seen to the left) that outlines different areas of
the company. Click on the desired text header to bring you to a folder which
houses the appropriate standard operating procedures within that area or
department.
We encourage each of you to reference and utilize your department SOP’s to
ensure processes are completed to TWSCO standards. By doing so, this will
ensure task and process consistency. Feel free to partner with your supervisor or manager should you have any questions or suggestions to improve our
existing procedures.
Employee Satisfaction Survey Results!
The best way to find out whether employees are satisfied is to ask them! Every few years
TWSCO conducts Employee Satisfaction Survey’s to measure the satisfaction pulse with our
employees. An effective employee satisfaction survey program focuses on measuring employee perceptions of how well a company delivers on the critical success factors and dimensions of
their job and working environment as a whole. Measurement areas that we surveyed included
management effectiveness, company culture, communication, teamwork, compensation, benefits, work hours, work conditions, and overall happiness. Once gathered, the information is reviewed in-depth by the Executive Committee to guide us with critical decisions and action steps
to align with our business model, mission statement, and corporate values.
Our last employee survey generated “Significant” measurable improvement in most all areas.

New MicroBulk Installation Truck!
TWSCO creates dedicated Specialty Gas
logo and website! Specialty gas has become a core focus moving forward. As
such, we are focusing on new branding
and marketing opportunities to promote
our specialty gas product offerings.

The newest addition to our fleet, T-40 is a 2005 International flat bed tractor (25,500
lb.. GVW) designed to pull heavy-weighted utility trailers and goosenecks. After years
of wear and tear on our ¾ pickup trucks, we needed to upgrade to a truck that was designed to pull our MicroBulk installation trailer, which at times weighs in around 14,000
lbs. It has a quiet Kohler generator on the back that can be used to power various tools,
fans or welders on installation jobs. It has four seats and tool boxes on the side for storage. Mike Hall, Gas Technologies Manager
Specialty Gas Continues to Raise the Bar!
New Developments - With 2010
underway, we are looking forward to expanding capabilities with our new Varian
450-GC coupled with FID and TCD technologies. Our analytical versatility has
dramatically increased to include numerous saturated and unsaturated hydrocarbon compounds. As we reflect back on
2009, the total cylinder count for the year
was actually more than our 2008 number
with a grand total of 9,376 cylinders.
A special thanks to Abel Navarrette for all
of his hard work and dedication to filling
and analyzing our UHP products.

TWSCO Internet Site Yields New Opportunities!
Generating Sales Leads
& Business Development throughout the Internet.
In some cases we have vendors that require us to go online to
pull statements and pay bills. Point being, marketing and technology is becoming an increasingly important advantage within the
sales toolbox, and overall branding scope.
It’s been four years since we last upgraded our TWSCO web
site. We received overwhelmingly positive feedback on our
initial upgrade. Since then, recent technology has outpaced
our last update. From a technological standpoint, we have new
opportunity areas with regards to e-commerce, search engine
optimization, lead generation, database management, e-mail
campaigns, and online bill pay. Our historical approach to market is 99% direct sales and relationship driven, as opposed to
marketing. However, our customers are changing. They are
becoming more technologically savvy, particularly on-line and in
web applications, offering new technological opportunities.
As of February, TWSCO will be launching two (2)
brand new web sites! The first will be our www.twsco.
com site, supporting our overall broad offerings and
a second site www.twsco-specgas.com targeting new
customers within the specialty gas market niche. Both websites
will offer significant marketing upgrades and several new technological applications including internal search engines, 18 “callto-action” customer applications, on-line forms, and e-commerce
that will follow later in the year. Illustrated below and on the next
page is a sample of what the home page of each internet site will
look like and various customer applications thereof.
TWSCO Website
Specialty Gas Website
TWSCO Internet Campaign
Immediately following our new website
releases, TWSCO will experiment with
new marketing technology to launch
“internet campaigns” designed to drive
& track customer traffic to our TWSCO
websites. These internet campaigns are
very specific targeted approaches designed with the latest internet technology to engage search engine optimization, lead generation, and database management
opportunities to support direct sales efforts. During the campaigns, we will be able to pull live data of who has visited our
site and what pages they are viewing, thereby generating a database of potential sales leads that our outside sales team will
follow-up on. We also will be able to specifically track incoming
sales or phone calls that were generated from site visits.

Wings
WINGS was founded in 1999 by two breast cancer survivors.
Imagine that you have been told you have breast cancer. Worse,
you have little or no insurance and no way to pay the average
$98,285 cost for full treatment. WINGS believes no one should
die from breast cancer because they do not have adequate funds
to pursue medical treatment that would allow them to defeat their
cancer and continue to live life to the fullest. The program offers
comprehensive breast cancer screening and treatment at no
charge to the patient. Through their network of 240 physicians,
labs, healthcare and related services WINGS provides FULL
care for $14,373. WINGS relies solely on donations. Ninety-two
percent of the funds go directly to patient treatment and care.
