I will use my life experience in order to continue to negotiate contracts for all work being performed in our community in order to help keep us fiscally sound. I will do everything in my power to keep our assessments from being increased. I am serving as the Liaison to the Maintance Department, Wood Shop, and Bingo. I am proud to list the following accomplishments that I along with the other members of the Board have accomplished: • The installation of the Solar System • Updating the Pool furniture all new tables and umbrellas • The Restoration of our Clubhouse Hall • The Lighting in our Library • The upholstering of our furniture and new rug in our Library • The installation of Cameras There are many other projects in the works that I would like to help complete with the promise to keep our community financially sound. Prior to moving to Carefree I resided in Belleville, NJ. I was born and raised in Linden, NJ. I received my education in the Linden schools and graduated from Linden High School. I then went on to attend the IBM School, and graduated in 1964. I was employed by RCA in the Computer Department. In 1968 I decided to enlisted in the United States Navy and served on the USS Perry DD844. After serving my country, I attended the Plumbers Vocational School. I worked in this field for 40 years, and was the Supervisor on many construction projects before retiring in 2005. I am a member of the Men’s Club, and an original volunteer for the Poolside Café. I am very active in our community’s activities and always willing to help when and where I am needed. I was a Member of the Masons Corner Stone Lodge #229 in Linden, New Jersey. I am married to my wonderful wife Linda and together we have 4 married children who have given us the greatest gift of 11 beautiful grandchildren, who keep us happy and active. Tony Trause 152 Port Royal Drive Toms River, NJ 08757 732-281-2861 Over the past five and one-half years, I have been fortunate to serve as the President of the Board of Directors of Carefree. I am now seeking my fourth term on the Board. In the past, I have also served as Secretary and have been the liaison to various clubs and committees. It would be an honor to serve the residents of Carefree again. The Board I have been working with is very harmonious. We have been working well together and I hope we can continue to do so. You can look around and see the improvements of the past two years to our facilities and all at no additional cost. Thanks to the efforts of the Board and the Clubs, which have provided us the funds to do this. I have been a resident of Carefree for fifteen years and reside alone. In my past life, I have served two terms as a Councilman and a term on the Board of Education. I was a teacher and Director of Athletics for a total of 30 years and have 40 credits past my Master’s Degree. I have had experience in Budget and Finance and various other areas. Carefree residents should know that these services are NOT entitlements. They are favors offered by volunteers who may agree to do a task or decline to do any job at their own discretion. Aluminum Can Recycling By Vincent Altamuro e started our trial run of collecting, crushing and selling aluminum cans to a recycler back in March. It took us six months to fill up the receptacle, which we sold for $ 72. This money was given to the First Aid Squad. We thank all who donated cans and now have set a three month goal to fill up and sell the contents of the next receptacle. If you can’t get to the recycling center behind the First Aid Squad building, call FreeCare and a volunteer will come to you and pick them up. We thank Bob White, manager of all recycling for his support and John Staution, Sal Pollice and others for their work. Rehearsals start on Sept. 30 from 1 to 3 pm (always Friday). Do you enjoy singing? Singing has many benefits. It is like an infusion of the perfect tranquilizer, the kind that soothes the nerves and elevates your spirits. It releases endorphins (a hormone) and oxytocins (another hormone). Endorphins release feelings of pleasure and oxytocins enhance feelings of trust and bonding which in turn lessens feelings of depression and loneliness. Singing lowers stress and is also an aerobic activity. Group singing feels like a guided meditation. Studies found that it relives anxiety and contributes to quality of life. SINGING CHANGES YOUR BRAIN! So why not give it a try? No auditions required. Please call me if interested Terri McGowan @ 732286-4092. by Barbara Egner Save the date: December 2, 2016 That’s the day Holly Twig will be holding their boutique sale at the hospital.
