Bearers are optional and are only used to raise
building up in the wet areas. Bearers are not to

The area for all bases must be clear, free from all
obstructions, trees, bushes etc. With no drains, pipes

Pressure Treated Platform Bases are constructed
from 100mm x 50mm timber with bracing in each
corner. When installed these are staked out and
packed where necessary to ensure a perfect level.
These can be used for uneven ground with no more
than 100mm fall and will elevate your building.
If used for sheds the ground must be solid and

soft or boggy. Pressure Treated Platform bases can
also be used for heavy buildings i.e. Workshops
and summerhouses providing the ground under
the structure is Tarmac, Concrete, Solid Patio or
additional slabs laid to support the base and building.
Pressure Treated Heavy Bases are constructed
from 150mm x 50mm timber. When installed
pressure treated legs are concreted in the ground
and are used across the whole of the base to support
where necessary. The ground must be solid and not
have more than a 12 inch fall across the whole area.
Concrete Bases are laid with a minimum thickness
additional charges will apply if extra materials and
labour is used. For larger base requirements or any
concerns, contact your local show site to arrange a

product that is robust and hard wearing. Protek Royal Exterior

For untreated Interlocking Cabins, we recommend Protek
Wood Preserver at £39 per 5ltr tin, then stained inside and
out with 3-4 coats of Protek Royal Exterior.

Joinery doors & windows with real glass and lock and key. If you would like a cabin erected have peace of mind
that our expert team have many years of experience. A perfect base is required for these cabins as all walls are
computer cut. There is very little tolerance.The buildings must be treated as soon as possible. We recommend
you fit gutters and apply Protek timber treatment then 3 coats of Protek Royal Exterior inside and out.
For added protection we recommend a top coat of Royal clear is applied

Educational Buildings
As the cost of building a typical ‘brick and mortar’ classroom is
somewhat expensive, local schools have approached us to build
affordable, additional classrooms. Whilst working with them, we
have developed an understanding of the needs of creating additional
teaching space. Our range of interlocking log cabins have proven
very popular as they can be bespoke to a school’s individual
requirements in both size and with extras such as windows or
insulation. Built using 44mm thick logs and double glazed as
standard, our log cabins are built to be durable and to last for years
to come. Unlike traditional timber buildings that are constructed
using a frame and cladding system, our log cabins are built using
interlocking timbers which makes a more rigid and robust building.
Schools need to adhere to budgets, we realise that energy efficiency
is key in the design of such classrooms. Based on this we have
developed a ‘twin-skin’ system which creates a cavity between the
exterior and an interior wall. This allows for additional insulation to
be installed within the building ensuring it can be used throughout

Skinners Sheds philosophy is demonstrating its commitment to tackling the complex issue of timber procurement. All
sources of timber is from a well managed, legal and non-controversial sources which carry recognised and acceptable
