TENUTA GUADO AL TASSO
Tenuta Guado al Tasso extends from the green hills surrounding the old village of
Bolgheri down to the sea. Tenuta Guado al Tasso, that covered about 4.000 hectares,
was part of feudal lands and belonged to the della Gherardesca family, a historical
noble family. In the Thirties the land was inherited by Carlotta della Gherardesca
Antinori, mother of Piero Antinori. Nowadays the estate covers over 1.000 hectares,
300 of which are planted with vineyards, and the rest with wheat, sunflowers and
olives, included the wood of the “Macchia del Bruciato”, where piglets of “cinta
senese” breed are raised in a halfwild state.
Wines
The 300 hectares (750 acres) planted to vineyards on the property are in the
center of the so-called” Bolgheri amphitheater”: rolling hillsides which surround a
splendid plain which slopes gently towards the sea and create a micro-climate
with unique characteristics.
Guado al Tasso, the flagship wine of the estate, expresses all of the force and
suppleness of this corner of the upper Maremma. It has contributed to raise
Bolgheri to the level of the most important areas of Europe’s viticulture,
expressing a decisively Mediterranean character of power, elegance, and balance.

OPTIONAL EXCURSIONS
The largest island of the Tuscan Archipelago, Elba is also part of the Arcipelago
Toscano National Park,[1] and the third largest island in Italy. Following the Treaty of
Fontainebleau, French emperor Napoleon was exiled to Elba after his forced
abdication in 1814 and arrived at Portoferraio on May 3, 1814 to begin his exile
there. He was allowed to keep a personal guard of six hundred men. Although he
was nominally sovereign of Elba, the island was patrolled by the British Navy.
During the months Napoleon stayed on the island, he carried out a series of
economic and social reforms to improve the quality of life, partly to pass the time
and partly out of a genuine concern for the well-being of the islanders. Napoleon
stayed on Elba for 300 days.

POPULONIA & BARATTI
Stretching over 80 hectares between the slopes of the promontory of Piombino and
the Gulf of Baratti, it is presented as a real open-air museum, glittering with ferrous
slag which show the impressiveness of the industrial Etruscan village. The Park
includes a significant part of the ancient town of Populonia, a unique Etruscan
settlement built directly on the sea, with its necropolises, the calcarenite quarries
and the industrial working quarters for iron coming from the hematite deposits on
the Island of Elba. The park is spread over various areas of visit which enable the
visitor to appreciate the transformation of the scenery over the centuries

SAN GIMIGNANO
S. Gimignano, with its numerous medieval towers, stands on rolling green
Tuscan hills among olive groves and vineyards.
During the Middle Ages it developed along Via Francigena, the principal road
that led pilgrims to Rome and became one of the most prosperous Tuscan
cities.
VOLTERRA
Volterra, thanks to its strategic position, offers the view one of the most
astonishingly beautiful nature landscapes in Tuscany.
It was one of the twelve Etruscan “lucumonie” by the name of Velathri.
During the Roman period it became a very important dominating power
over the surrounding territory. In the Middle Ages it became a free city and
walking through its very enchanting historical centre today we can see how
the town planning has maintained intact its Medieval character.

Thanks to its position and its organization this is one of the most beautiful golf
courses not only at the regional level, but also nationally.
The Center is open all the year and it offers the possibility to play golf clinic
organized by Federal Circle. It also organizes competitions, especially during springsummer seasons.
Opened since 1964, the Golf Club Punta Ala is equipped with all services and the
proper staff: bar, restaurant, driving range, golf cars, electric and hand tracks and
pro-shop.

Castagneto Carducci
The area of Castagneto Carducci offers a multitude of different landscapes: a countryside scattered with villas, farmhouses and estates, soft hills in
the typical Tuscan shades, small medieval towns, and immense pinewoods reaching out to touch the sea. Castagneto Carducci is a town full of
tradition. Its old village clusters around the Conti della Gherardesca Castle through a circular system of roads and is well-preserved and rich in
historical remains which can be admired while strolling among the tight stone-paved alleys, the small squares and the charming ancient buildings.
Bolgheri
You reach Bolgheri by the Viale dei Cipressi, a beautiful shady road lined with cypresses, sung in a famous poem by Giosuè Carducci, and enter the
village by an ancient brick arch. Bolgheri has a fascination all of its own: through the years, the town has preserved its original architecture and
everything is as if time had stopped. Only the ever-changing colours of the countryside all around measure the cycle of the seasons.

Day 1
Arrival in airport.
Your personal driver and guide will attend at the airport and will be with you
throught out the tour. Transfer to Tombolo Talasso Resort for your 2 night
stay:
check in with accomodation in Suite seaside rooms:
2 bedrooms one with double bed and one with French size bed, separate living
room, covered terrace, toilet and bathroom. Each Suite (approx. 56 sqmtrs),
named after Livorno painters, is individually decorated with different colours
using mainly natural hues and is furnished with natural materials like wood,
leather and cotton. All rooms are equipped with an advanced heating system
which allows each guest to ad just the temperature to his/her liking. Thanks to
the Wi-Fi coverage, sat TV and Sky TV guests can access their e-mail and
watch movies in various languages. In addition all rooms are equipped with
telephone, minibar and safe. Bathrooms are tiled in mosaic, marble or hand
painted, have bathtub and/or shower and feature bathrobe, slippers,
hairdryer and amenities.

Day 2
Breakfast in hotel and departure for Ornellaia
Visit of the vineyards and winery, including a wine tasting of top wines
Lunch at ornellaia Estate. After lunch a tour through the mediaval towns of Bolgheri and castagneto
carducci. You reach Bolgheri by the Viale dei Cipressi, a beautiful shady road lined with cypresses, sung
in a famous poem by Giosuè Carducci, and enter the village by an ancient brick arch. Bolgheri has a
fascination all of its own: through the years, the town has preserved its original architecture and
everything is as if time had stopped. Only the ever-changing colours of the countryside all around

In the afternoon visit of the Antinori estate’s vineyards, followed by the ‘cinta senese’ breeding.
The tour will take you also in the winery where the procedure of vinification and aging of wine takes
place.
In the afternoon return to Tombolo talasso resort and free time at your disposal in the wellness
Center, that is a real “SPA - Salus Per Aquam ”, meaning “health through water”. Sea water is our
extraordinary resource captured at 900 meters from the coast to guarantee it’s pureness.It is heated at
various temperatures and utilized to offer our clients specialized Thalasso treatments ranging from
acuqa-fitness, water massages, hydro-massages with algae or salts, underwater hydro-massages, jet
showers, horizontal sea rain showers and many more.
