Château Hostens-Picant is a major vineyard located on the right bank of the Garonne river, 23
kms East of Saint-Emilion, near the town of
Sainte-Foy-La-Grande (Appellation Sainte-Foy
Bordeaux/Côtes de Bordeaux). Yves and Nadine
Hostens-Picant fell in love with the area and
bought the vineyard in 1986. They made their
first vintage in 1990.
Essentially Merlot and Cabernet Franc for the
reds, Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle for the whites, they produce year after
year wines that are crafted in the same way as
Grands Crus Classés. Yves, a perfectionist at
heart, likes to say that "our wines must be perfect, otherwise there’s no point in making
them”. Hostens-Picant wines have an amazing
balance between subtlety and body, which is
the trademark of great Bordeaux.
Thanks to their hard work, a very selective distribution and the constant quality of their
wines, they have always had an excellent reputation in France and worldwide, getting not
only recognition among professionals and in national and international competitions but
also appreciation among consumers.
Their two daughters, Charlotte and Valentine
have joined the adventure and are continuing
the excellent work initiated by their parents
while adapting to an ever-changing trade.
The family's wines have been present on the
Chinese Market since 1996 - In Guangzhou
(House wine of the White Swan Hotel), Xiamen,
Shanghai, among other places.
