1st Generation
Giovanni and Julia Pedroncelli came to Dry Creek Valley in 1927
to purchase vineyard, a home and winery. In 1934, after selling the
grapes during Prohibition, they added winemaking to the family business. Over the years, more land was purchased, the cellar
expanded, equipment bought and a line of wines proudly bearing
the Pedroncelli name became available to the general public.
2nd Generation
Sons John and Jim Pedroncelli followed
in their parents’ footsteps, John heading
up winemaking and grape growing while
Jim took the reins selling and marketing
their wines. Their contributions, like their
father’s, helped ready the winery for national and export sales. The line of wines expanded under their leadership
as friends far and wide began seeking out the Pedroncelli name.

3rd Generation
The next generation includes
Jim’s daughters Julie, Cathy, Lisa and
Joanna along with Ed St. John and
Lance Blakeley, married to Julie and
Lisa respectively. John’s children
Richard and Maureen are part of the
team as well. Their roles are varied
and hands on, much of it earned
working side by side with John and
Jim. Their goal, as the next generation, is to honor and build on the
success of the first two generations.

Sustainable Stewardship
As a family who has farmed for over 85 years in
the Dry Creek Valley, you could say that we have
‘sustainable’ in our DNA. The ranch has sustained
three generations so far. We want the next generations to be able to continue farming in an environmentally sensitive way. The most important
statement we can make about our wine is that
we are here for the long term and protecting
the land is one way we will achieve that goal.
At Pedroncelli Winery, we practice sustainable
winegrowing and, over the years, we have reduced water
use, built healthy soil and protected the vineyard environment. This is a comprehensive approach to vineyard management involving all aspects of farming including viticulture, soil
management, water management, pest management, habitat
management, and wine quality.

Our tasting room is open 10–4:30.
You’ll be greeted by our friendly staff and
maybe even a Pedroncelli family member
or two. We offer a wide selection of hand
crafted wines from northern Sonoma
County. Our picnic decks and Bocce court
are open year ’round. Stop to taste and
drink in the view.
