Tasting Notes
Classic full notes of gooseberry and passion fruit with a touch of citrus and grass on the nose.
The palate is clean and fresh with tropical fruit and a cleansing citrus finish. One of the first
grapes to arrive from the vineyards each year and one of the first into the bottle, it is bright and
chic and an ideal accompaniment to panko-crusted halibut, lemon chicken, baked oysters, or
creamy goat cheese.
Stylistic Notes
A long, cool 100% tank fermentation helped bring out out the fruit flavours. Sourced from one
of our neighbour’s properties on the Naramata Bench with a nice westerly aspect and clay/loam
soils, this 15 year old vineyard produces a fresh and crisp Sauvignon Blanc. A range of picking
dates was used to help capture the full spectrum of classic lemon, passion fruit and grassy
attributes of this aromatic varietal.
Vintage Report
2013 had all the textbook indicators for a great vintage beginning with a good spring and
continuing with a summer that featured generous sunshine and warm temperatures. MidSeptember saw a cooling trend that brought some precipitation to the Okanagan Valley and
growers were challenged by these conditions. Good viticultural practices by this vineyard with
careful canopy management enabled the harvest of good quality, ripe fruit.
