Business Scenario
• BuyerUk Inc. Located in Peterborough, UK is producer of pumps used in
engines:
– Receives more orders than forecasted from their customers.
– Needs to find alternative supplier for Bearings (HS GB 8482400000).
• Sam is from Procurement Department:
– searches globally and gets three different offers from two suppliers:
• Option 1: India with air
• Option 2: China with air
• Option 3: China with ocean (no speed production so the product price is much more less)
– needs to make decision for
• Which option to choose. It may be possible to cancel some of the customer orders if the cost
difference is very high between option 1,2 and 3. In other words, is it worth to accept all orders from
customers?
• asks Lucy, the ELC Analyst, for the Estimated Landed Costs for each option.
