Martin Mathys®
Pioneer in innovations
Martin Mathys, founder of the Mathys® company, put the emphasis on outstanding quality from the earliest days back in 1845.
We have been faithful to that deliberate choice ever since. As a
result, Mathys® has grown to become one of the biggest manufacturers of paints and waterproofing products in the market. With its
extensive experience and comprehensive expertise, Mathys® has
been a renowned problem-solver for many years: realizable and
long-term solutions are created for the most complex problems in
increasingly international markets.
The product range is dominated by specialised high-quality products for coping with difficult and delicate problems in the areas
of damp-resistance and decoration.
Each product is more valued than the other and all of them can
be used to decorate and protect structures from private home to
industrial construction projects. Products that also excel due to the
environmentally friendly properties. All of the Mathys® products
are the result of continuous research and development in the company’s own laboratories.
Martin Mathys® N.V. has been part of the American holding company RPM® since 1992. That ensures its further expansion and
development of both products and markets, without losing touch
with the customers that supported the company over many years.

Rust-Oleum®
Timberex®
From fish to paint
The Scottish sea captain Robert Fergusson
noticed that the decks of his ship would not
rust in places where fish oil had been spilled.
On the basis of that observation, the captain
developed the first rust-proofing paint with a
fish oil base. In 1921, he perfected a paint
that prevented rust and would dry in one night
without unpleasant odours. RUST-OLEUM®
Corporation was born.
THE BEST NATURAL PROTECTION FOR WOOD
Timberex® International originated in southeast England. It has been producing environmentally friendly and long-lasting oils
for floors, countertops, planks, furniture and
creative applications since 1927. The goal
of Timberex® is to offer its customers the best
possible protection for wood. Timberex® has
been certified with ISO 9001 and BSEN71.
Its oils are all made of natural, renewable raw
materials and comply with the latest health
and safety regulations. They all comply with
VOC 2010 and have also been certified as
compliant with EN71-3, which covers safety
standards for food and children’s toys.
Rust-Oleum® Mathys®
Best solutions in paints and coatings
In Europe, Rust-Oleum® focuses on the development, production and sale of industrial
paints and coatings for professional users. Together, Mathys® and Rust-Oleum® offer more
than 250 years of paint experience. The bundling of their knowledge, expertise, and experience leads to more possibilities, new solutions
and trend-setting innovations. The close collaboration of the production centres in Zelem (B)
and Roosendaal (NL) ensure the continuity of
deliveries. That also results in large productdevelopment capacity. The sites also comply
with environmental and safety regulations, of
course, and invest continuously to be able to
continue to meet the highest standards.
Zinsser®
Innovation, quality and problem-solving are
Zinsser´s basic principles; the company has
been true to those principles since 1849.
With the introduction of the shellac resins in
its primers early in the 1800s, the company
was able to successfully combat mould, damp
and similar problems. Zinsser ® became well
known among professional painters as a way
of dealing with those problems. The Zinsser ® products have all been prepared in ISO
9001-certified production sites in Europe.
RPM®
RPM® International Inc. In an international holding company with subsidiaries that manufacture and sell high-quality coatings, sealants
and specialised chemicals. They are intended
for maintenance and improvement purposes.
In 2011, turnover at the company was $3.38
billion. Fifty-seven per cent of that turnover
was generated in the United States of America and 43% in the global markets. RPM® has
approximately 9,000 employees in 78 branches over 18 countries.

You get the best result in finishing when you prepare the surface properly before you start. It
is important for damaged, uneven surfaces to be cleaned and prepared and for walls and

Careful puttying with Plastopan Super N, followed by sanding, is the basis for good adhesion of a primer or finishing layer. It assures you of an attractive result. Sand the puttied
