Innovation - AMC Engineering Conference
28th Annual Five Sullivan Brothers Convention Center Waterloo, Iowa May 6 - 8, 2013 www.amc-online.org Environment of Innovation Images courtesy of Valtra 28th Annual Agricultural Machinery Conference Location Environment of Innovation We have truly lived in an environment of innovation in recent times. Next January, most off-road diesel engines will need to meet Tier IV Final or Euro 6 emissions. The 90% reduction in emissions requires a level of technology that seemed impossible 10 short years ago when the requirements were set. However, we have no time to rest. Innovations will be needed in the future to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, increase food production, develop new fuels, and solve thousands of other problems facing the agriculture machinery industry while still saving our natural resources for future generations. The Agricultural Machinery Conference (AMC) sets the groundwork of an environment of innovation by facilitating the sharing of knowledge and experiences to develop Jim Evans the new technologies and products needed to General Chair solve these problems. 28th Annual AMC The 28th annual Agricultural Machinery John Deere PEC Conference will be held at The Ramada Hotel Waterloo, IA and Five Sullivan Brothers Convention Center in downtown Waterloo, Iowa. Waterloo is in the very heart of U.S. agriculture and machinery industry. More than 220 agricultural manufacturers call Iowa or its surrounding states home. As always, the AMC kicks off on Monday with Continuing Education Sessions held both in the morning and in the afternoon in the convention center. This year's topics include: Overviews of J1939 and ISO11783, Ductile and Compacted Graphite Iron Metal Castings, and Agricultural Tire Design and Applications. On Monday afternoon, you will have a chance to view today’s technology during a tour of the John Deere Engine Works in Waterloo. In the evening, we will hold the opening ceremonies at Antique Acres in Cedar Falls, IA. Greg “Machinery Pete” Peterson will speak on “Tractor Trends: What is the used equipment market teaching us about new equipment customer needs?" Tuesday and Wednesday are filled with new technology and innovation with keynote speakers at breakfast and lunch, as well as several technical sessions on subjects such as wireless technology, vehicle simulation and modeling,Tier 4 engine solutions and alternative fuels. In between the technical sessions and speakers be sure to visit the exhibit floor in the Five Sullivan Brothers Convention Center, which will be filled with suppliers showcasing their latest products and technologies for the agriculture industry. You will also be able to view displays of both antiques and the latest innovations in farm equipment. An evening social on Tuesday provides an additional opportunity to network with exhibitors, which offer a wealth of knowledge on components, systems and services targeted toward farming and other industry professionals attending the conference. We hope to see you in Waterloo, Iowa on May 6 to 8, 2013. The 28th Agricultural Machinery Conference will take place in Waterloo, Iowa, at the Ramada Hotel & Five Sullivan Brothers Convention Center. Metalcasting Presented by: Industry members of the Ductile Iron Society Abstract: Metalcastings are prevalent in all walk of life. They are key to making the quality of life that we all enjoy happen. Take a few moments to observe what your daily life would be like without Metalcastings and you will quickly confirm this fact. The automotive, construction, housing, appliance and the agriculture industries to name a few would not have advanced to the stage that they are at without Metalcastings. The electronics industry would not be needed if Metalcastings were non-existent. The charter of the Ductile Iron Society is to promote the technical advancements and application of ductile and compacted graphite irons.
