Well lots of big changes here on the farm. As many of you know the biggest
being our new indoor riding arena. A long time in coming, but so well worth it. Larry has
been pouring his heart into this doing nearly all of it alone after we hired out to have
the rafters put up. Thank you to
for donating a day to help Larry out.
That meant alot. We hope to have an open house sometime after we get back from
the Appaloosa World Show. Larry wants to get the heated viewing room finished first.
Well we had to cut back on a few shows, but the ones we got to the horses did
super.
was his usual wonderful self at the 4-H State Fair Show with
&
got 1st in Western Road Hack & Stock Seat Equit, 2nd in Western Pleasure & 4th in
Horsemanship. This may have been their last year due to college next year so they
went out with a bang.
We even dragged old
out. He never changes. He won the year end in Youth
trail and came in 2nd in the Adult Trail with only 2 shows. He is doing great & you sure
wouldn’t think he is 23 yrs old.
Congratulations to
of MA on their purchase of
(Emmy). It was a very tough decision to sell her but we know we found a
wonderful home for her. We wish them much success. Emmy had an impressive year
in HIH Mares & is still in the top 10 in Youth HIH mares with Erin.
also had a super year with
. Picking up points in
showmanship, horsemanship, western pleasure and HIH. Congratulations to Ruby’s new
owners the
. We could not have asked for a
better home where she is getting tons of attention. Watch for them in 2008!
once again had a great year with both Erin and Larry. Earning
ROM’s in NP HIH and Youth HIH. He is also 2nd in the nation in English Pleasure in the
ACAAP program. Good boy Azul!
Now for
Well as I write this he is on his way to Texas for the
Appaloosa World Show.
will be showing him in NP HIH & HUS,
will be showing him in open HIH and
will show him in the 3 yr old HUS
and Junior HUS. A top 10 would be wonderful but just getting called into the line up
even once will make our day. LOL He has four days between some of his classes off so
we are taking Mel and giving her a tour of all the cool spots around Fort Worth. Check
out our website for photos and updates as Erin will have her laptop with her.
We had our 3rd annual fall show here on Oct. 14th. We had 25 riders able to
attend. What a great time we had. I can’t thank everyone enough for all your support
of Jem Farm. We even got to use the new indoor. I don’t think I have ever laughed so
much. Special Thank you to
for being our judge. We are already looking
forward to the first annual spring show in April, where all the new riders can join in on
the fun. Till next time.
Donna
News from TEAQ Farm...
It’s hard to believe that we’re heading into winter yet again. It seems like just yesterday we were
busy trying to get the horses shed out for show season. As I look back on 2007 it was a year of
set back from our show season. We faced horses that just wouldn’t lose that winter hair, some
stomach aliments or some growthy yearlings. So, we didn’t hit all the shows that we wanted to
this year, but we have much to be thankful for. My mare
is safely infoal to
for an
April foal and doing very well. She’s enjoying the life of hanging out with her best buddy
. It seems that April can’t come soon enough!
The two shows that we did manage to attend, the LCAC Summer Classic and WNYAA Cowboy
Classic were great shows.
(Paris) did super at both shows and received
a Reserve Championship at WNYAA against some very tough mares, so we were very proud!
(Sydney) didn’t make it to LCAC, but was super at WNYAA. She placed in the Top
Ten in the Weanling Futurity and ended up the highest placing Junior Weanling. She showed like a
veteran and garnered points in weanling fillies and most colorful classes! It was another great
show spent with good friends. The stallion auction was again attended and I did buy a breeding
for Kiss. I’m extremely excited about my choice of
! Imagery is an up and coming
stallion and I was very impressed with his foals this year and can’t wait to see what Kiss & Chrome
will produce in 2009. We would also like to congratulate
&
(Zander) on a fantastic show season. In the short time they were together, this pair definitely
shined in the ring.
A huge congratulations to
on their purchase of
(Ebony)! Ebony has left her career as a broodmare behind and is back in riding shape and looks
absolutely fantastic! Another congrats goes out to
, as he acquired
(Foxy). Another great home and we couldn’t be happier with the pairing!
We did slip away for a weekend trip to the Quarter Horse Congress in Ohio for some shopping,
but it seemed the show lacked a lot of vendors. We have just one more show to attend this year,
the Appaloosa World Show in Fort Worth, Texas. It is always a great show and it will be good to
be horseless this year. It will be great to be cheering on a very special person and her mount,
(Revy)! Meg, we wish you much success at this world show! You’ve got
the horse to do it and all the support!

Its hard to believe that show season has already come to an end & the horses are
starting to get fuzzy! 2007 has been an outstanding year for our own horses & even more
so for the
babies! We are thrilled to announce that Vision has made it to
! He is the youngest stallion on both lists with by far
the fewest number of total foals. A huge
to all the owners of those Vision
babies who have done such a fantastic job in the show pen! We would like to congratulate
the following on their 2007 Accomplishments:
with
- ROM FPD Mares, 3rd in the Nation FPD Mares.
with
- ROM NP Most Colorful, two Top Five Youth World Placings, one
National Top Five and one National Top Ten Placing, 5th in the Nation FPD Mares.
with The
- Top placing Junior
Weanling and 7th overall at the 2007 WNYAA Weanling Futurity.
with
- ROM Open Halter Geldings.
with
- ROM NP Most Colorful, 3rd in the Nation FPD Stallions.
When show season comes to an end, we realize that foaling season is just around the
corner! We anticipate that our 2008 foal crop will be the best yet! Six foals are expected
to arrive on our farm beginning in March, all sired by Clear Vision. Please visit our
website for the 2008 foal preview at
On our site you will also
find a link to the outside mares expecting Vision babies - be sure to bookmark those
pages and keep checking back for announcements and photos as each foal arrives!
Congratulations to the following folks on their new equine partners from HDC
Appaloosas.
of JEM Farm and
- “Demi”was bred and
originally owned by Coffee Cup Farm. She has found the perfect home as Larry’s new
project and they make an outstanding team!
&
and
- “Baby”is now living the good life with two beautiful young ladies to pamper and love
her.
and
- “Spice”is looking forward to slightly
warmer weather in Maryland and will be making her show ring debut in 2008. Are you
looking for a horse??? Be sure to visit our website sale page! We have a few of our own
horses listed as well as some FANTASTIC outside horses.
Before we wrap up this month’s farm notes, we want to wish
&
GOOD LUCK at the 2007 World Show! We know how hard you have worked and
will be cheering you on!
Bridget
I’m sure many of you know by now what we are going thru here at the farm. Don has prostrate cancer & will
be operated on Nov.7. He’ll have a 6 to 8 week recovery time. So I’ll be in charge of all the chores.
The last 2 weekends we’ve had a help save Gagnon’s barn party & the work our friends did on the barn is
unreal. New beams everywhere & it will make it thru many more winters. A big thank you to everyone that
helped !!!!
My Dr. also found more compression fractures in my back and told me I can NOT ride a horse or our Harley
ever again. So guess the 9 horses we have are here to pet & feed.
I want to thank Bridget for taking Dee & Willow for me. I am not able to handle a young one any more and
now with Don sick I can not get hurt.
We hope to have pups in about 40 days then I’ll be real busy !
With so many medical bills coming in, some of our horses are for sale. We are down to all the good ones so
no more give aways but they are priced fair.
We also have a 2 year old German Shep. female for sale, if anyone is interested.
Linda
We’re wrapping up an exciting year over here!
’s first foals hit the ground
running, with
placing Reserve Grand in Mass!, his first show
ever!
(pending) was a later baby, but watch out for him next year!
finished up her Open Most Colorful ROM, and we’re close on the
other..she was a star this year! We are most excited to announce the purchase of
--an O6 Colt from
.”MacGoo”showed quite
sucessfully with
, winning the yearling futurity in Syracuse! Imagery,
or “Chrome”as we know him, will be making the trip to
, in
Marysville, Ohio, for the 08 breeding season.Look for his ad in the December
App.Journal, designed by
!! We aren’t making the trip to Texas this year,
but want to offer congratulations to
!!
is going to WOW
them, I just know it!! Thanks to all who bred to Chrome in 07, and those who bought
our kids!! Look us up in 08, you won’t be disappointed.

(
) completed his AQHA Open Reining ROM this summer.
He is great and we are doing well in South Carolina. He was circuit champion in open
reining at the N Carolina Spring Classic in Raleigh.
I’m thinking of selling him, as I have been riding a 3 yr old western pleasure mare and
falling in love with her. Besides, everyone in the barn where I board shows pleasure
horses. “When in Rome do as the Romans”.
Say “hi”to all. We miss everyone.
Lynda
Here is some news from
and me: we survived another steamy DC area summer,
mostly by somehow managing to get up and ride at the crack of dawn before it gets to
hot. We thought we had said good-bye to the hot weather but it is in the upper 80s
this first weekend of October! Cadet and I are going to a dressage show in
Woodbridge, VA next weekend and will ride Training Level Test 4 & First Level Test 1.
Then the next weekend I head off to Hawaii for a vacation while Cadet gets tuned up by
the trainer to get ready for the Virginia Dressage Association Schooling Show
Championship at Morven Park in Leesburg, VA on Nov.3. We will ride the same tests as
in Woodbridge.

It was great to see the number of trail rides members attended this year. A big thank you to Karen Newton
and all the hard work she puts into the trail rides. I am sure she will be looking for trail ideas for 2008, so

Be sure to keep logging your hours. Please note a change in the rules. Starting in 2008. If you do not turn
your hours in either before or at the Sept. meeting, they must be

not be accepted. This is to not only get them in more timely but to help people not to forget.
Many people turned in incomplete saddle log forms. This makes for alot of extra work trying to figure out
the awards.
. If you have any questions
when filling out your forms please contact Karen Newton 643-0658
Here are some key things that were missing on some forms:
1. Riders Age was missing. (we need to know this as it is broke down by youth and adult)
2. Total Hours need to be filled in at the bottom of each column.
3. Page Total of hours must be done on each page.
4. Yearly Total of Hours and Minutes must be put down.
5. Riders Name, Address and Phone number must be on page in case we need to contact you.
6. Make sure you fill in the date, horse and hour on each line you are entering information.
1. * Must be a member of LCAC for hours to count. Hours may be started when membership is paid. If not
renewed by the January meeting, hours cannot be counted until membership is paid.*
2.
. Year End Awards will be presented for
Total Yearly Hours. There will be awards for 1st through 6th place.
3. There will be 2 divisions in the Saddle Log Program & Driving Log Program. 18 & Under, 19 & Over.
4. Hours may be earned on type of riding or driving.
5. Any breed of horse or pony may be used.
6. Horse or Pony does not have to belong to the LCAC member.
7. Hours are kept on the
system.
8. Hours are to be kept on log sheets supplied by LCAC & hrs can be totaled from all horses for awards.

FTR shows did very good this year and
memberships were the highest they have ever been.
Great to see so many new horse people.
I guess there were questions
on how show hi points are figured. Holly
volunteered to do up a sheet explaining how they
are figured and posting it at shows so everyone
knows how they are done. Thanks Holly.

Good luck to all the FTR members who are headed
to the QH Congress in OH. Be sure to let us know
how you do.
Dates to be announced.
If you do please contact one of the officers with
your ideas so they can be brought up at the next
meeting.
Please check out information in this newsletter
about the FTR fundraiser for 2008.
We will be doing our every other year
. As we did last time we
will have a raffle of member donated items. Member will be asked to do two things.
Either bring your item to the
, send it with someone who is
going or get it to Missy Alexander. Youmay call Missy at 492-7438 to make
arrangements. Items of general interest are prefered as we hope items are of
interest to non horse folks as well as ourselves. If you bring your item to the
Banquet please tag it so we know the donor and can give credit on the list.
T, please sell as many chances as possible. We have gotton a
great collection of items in the past but, unfortunately, we have to give them all
away to our winners! Our profit comes from chances sold. So donating isonly half
of what we need members to do
. We spend a minimum of $45 per class for Year end Awards and more if
we have ties. In addition we have a record number of 15 Participation awards this year. (Great job
Youth members!) That is well over $2,000 per year on awards. Add in judges, ribbons, Fairgrounds
fees, paid staff at the shows and Insurance. Our expenses are considerable. We have 92
memberships this year, most are couples or families for a total of 155 actual members. If each
membership sold even $10 worth of chances we could make over $900. Please do your best so we
can look forward to successful years in the future!
First I would like to thank the following people:
for copying the papers for show season.
for doing the work in the booth. We certainly could
not have done this without any of you.
for being the ringmasters.
for setting up the jumps at each show
for moving the wagon with all of the jump standards at every show
for helping with the setup of trail at each horse show.
for setting up the games& western riding.
for keeping track of the points
Without each and every one of you show season would not be possible
I would also like to thank the following for sponsoring classes at our show.
~ Youth halter
~ Novice Youth Classes
~ 11 & Over Walk Trot Classes
~ Western riding
~ Barrel Racing
Thank you to all of these individuals for helping our club to succeed year after year!
I am also looking for
for the year end award banquet. They can send them to me through
email which would be the best because I could just copy and paste into a word document or they can
send a hard copy and I will scan it in. If they want the original back I will bring it to the banquet and
return the original.

- 1994 ApHC Few Spot Mare (Waggoners Rawhide X Miss Roman Bars)
Heidi is a wonderful mare that has given us some outstanding foals over the years. She consistently
produces babies with good bone, beautiful movement, height and sweet dispositions. It is our belief
that Heidi would be the perfect mare for a sport horse or hunter breeding program. Our focus is on
halter horses here and for that reason alone, we have decided to sell this sweet mare. As a few spot,
Heidi will always produce foals with Appaloosa color and/or characteristics, regardless of the stallion
she is bred to. She is confirmed in foal to Clear Vision for March of 2008. Heidi is breeding sound
only due to an injury as a young foal. $2500 HDC Appaloosas (518) 236-4061

(
) completed his AQHA Open Reining ROM this summer.
