Easily accessible to some of the best offshore fishing grounds,
Orange Beach, Alabama is home to a large fleet of sport fishing
boats and some of the best fishing crews in the Gulf of Mexico.
Summer is coming on, the fishing is great and boats from every
gulf coast state come to fish the OBBC. Held at The Wharf Marina,
the tournament is a big event in the Orange Beach community and
in the wider sport fishing communities. It kicks off the gulf coast
tournament fishing season and is the first leg of the Gulf Coast
Triple Crown Championship series.
The Wharf provides a great venue for the owners and crews and for the popular Saturday night weigh in.
Surrounded by shops, bars and restaurants, the scales are in the heart of The Wharf complex and we always
have a crowd of several thousand spectators.
In 2015 articles were published in the Mobile Press Register,
The Destin Log and the Northwest Florida Daily News about
tournament results. We also had live television coverage by our
local NBC station. The OBBC is written up in Marlin Magazine,
InTheBite Magazine (which presented it’s Captain of the Year
award at our awards ceremony) and The Billfish Magazine by
The Billfish Foundation, the conservation organization that we
support with our proceeds.
As an Orange Beach Billfish Classic sponsor there are several
levels of opportunity to maximize your exposure and
involvement with the tournament. The levels listed are a
guideline and we always want to try to accommodate any
special requests or ideas.
