The construction is based on a machined aluminium base plate on or in which the individual components are mounted or fitted. 3.2.2.2 Geared swivel arm The light construction geared swivel arm incorporates the toothed gear wheels and their bearings and the blade hub on which the saw blade unit sits (diamond cutter with quick-release flange). A plug screw with magnet is fitted on the side of the geared swivel arm. Saw blade uptake The diamond saw blade and the quick-release flange together form the saw blade unit. The saw blade unit is secured via the blade hub of the geared swivel arm by means of a central screw. 3.2.2.3 Quick-release flange The quick-release flange essentially consists of the blade flange and the blade cover as well as their anchoring screws. The blade flange is designed for normal cutting and for flush cutting, see “Chapter 4” 4.4.3, 4-7. 3.2.2.4 Lock unit The lock units are components that are screwed to the side of the chassis and provide support for each other by means of braces. The lock units comprise: • Grip (combined with lock function) • Swivelling block • Support plate with fixed guide roller and screwed grid element • Swivel roller holder with guide roller Guide rollers The guide rollers are constructed in a wear-free material and with sealed four-point ball-bearings. 3.2.2.5 Blade guard uptake bolts The scope of supply of the WX-15 wall saw includes the bolts for the folding guards blade guard uptake. WX-15 / 002 3-3 Design and function Operating Instructions 3.2.2.6 Drive motor Electric drive motor with overload protection (high frequency, water-cooled) 3.2.2.7 Feed motor Electric motor with integrated gears and integrated brake 3.2.2.8 Swivelling motor Electric motor with integrated gears and integrated brake 3.2.2.9 Water connection Central water supply and flow control take place via the drive motor. The system for coupling the water supply has a screw connection securing it to the drive motor. The water line leads to the cooling via the drive motor. Water flow control takes place by means of a bypass line and a water valve on the mounting side of the drive motor. The water admitted flows through the chassis via the geared swivel arm and emerges centrally on the diamond saw blade. 3-4 WX-15 / 002 Operating Instructions Design and function 3.3 Function of the WX-15 wall saw The WX-15 wall saw is the central component of the wall saw system. All the motors, along with the cutting tool and the blade guard are mounted on the WX-15. 3.3.1 Components 10 7 3 5 2 6 1 4 9 Fig. 3-3 8 Components 1 2 3 4 5 Chassis Geared swivel arm Saw blade uptake Lock unit Guide rollers 6 7 8 9 10 Blade guard uptake bolts Blade drive motor Feed motor Swivelling motor Water line Information The geared swivel arm should only be moved if the blade flange has been fitted. Otherwise there is a risk of damage to the machine from the protruding locking sleeve. WX-15 / 002 3-5 Design and function Operating Instructions 3.3.2 Function of the components 3.3.2.1 Chassis The chassis is the main body of the WX-15 wall saw. The chassis incorporates the following components and seats. Drive pinion for travelling motion: The drive pinion incorporated in the chassis for the travelling motion transmits the speed generated by the feed motor directly to the toothed guide rail. Toothed gear for the swivelling motion of the swivel arm: The toothed gear incorporated in the chassis for the rotating movement of the geared swivel arm transmits the speed generated by the feed motor with a ratio of 1:4. Drive shaft with pinion for geared swivel arm: The drive shaft running on bearings in the chassis transmits the speed from the drive motor directly to the drive pinion of the geared swivel arm. Bolt uptake on blade guard holder: Four M8 threaded bore holes are provided in the chassis for securing the blade guard. Lock unit uptake: The two lock units are mounted on the side of the chassis: 3.3.2.2 Geared swivel arm The light construction geared swivel arm transmits the speed generated by the drive motor and the torque via the toothed gears (ratio 1:2.6) to the cutting tool. The geared swivel arm has a rotation of 360°. Saw blade uptake: The diamond saw blade and the quick-release flange together form the saw blade unit. The blade hub formed for the saw blade unit and its quick-release flange allows rapid changing of the diamond saw blades. Plug screw with magnet The plug screw with magnet collects metal particles in the geared swivel arm. 3.3.2.3 Quick-release flange With the quick-release flange you can mount your diamond saw blades on saw blade units for normal and flush cutting, see “Chapter 4” 4.4.3, 4-7. The saw blade units allow quick changing of diamond saw blades. 3-6 WX-15 / 002 Operating Instructions Design and function 3.3.2.4 Lock unit The lock units with integral guide rollers clamp and secure the WX-15 wall saw on the rail system. Guide rollers The guide rollers ensure safely guided longitudinal movement of the WX15 wall saw on the guide rail. 3.3.2.5 Blade guard uptake bolts The bolts are used to secure the blade guards. 3.3.2.6 Drive motor The drive motor drives the cutting tool via the geared swivel arm (ratio 1:2.6). The speed can be varied as required. The drive motor is connected to the control unit. The direction of rotation is set. Overload protection: To prevent damage to the drive motor, it is fitted with overload protection. Resetting (coupling) overload protection: 0° 30° Fig. 3-4 Resetting overload protection Proceed as follows: • Switch off the wall saw • Remove the blade guard • Rotate the diamond saw blade backwards by 30° against the saw blade direction of rotation • The coupling can be heard to click as it resets • Mount the blade guard and switch on the saw system again 3.3.2.7 Feed motor Using the feed motor the WX-15 wall saw can be moved backwards and forwards on the guide rail.
