Under 5 year-olds travel free, 5-15 year-olds half price.
1/3 OFF FOR GROUPS
Groups of 3 to 9 people get a third off with a GroupSave ticket
on off peak GWR trains. Buy on the train from Newcourt, or
from ticket offices at other stations.
How to buy tickets
Travelling for work, school and college
Please buy your ticket from the machine at Newcourt station
before boarding the train. The machine takes cards and cash
(including notes) and gives change.
Why not try commuting by train from Newcourt?
Regular passengers can make substantial savings by taking
advantage of season tickets and carnets.
A few tickets, such as GroupSave and Ranger tickets, are not
available from the machine. In these cases, just board the
train and buy your ticket from the Conductor.
Remember, if travelling before 9am (Mon-Fri) without a
season ticket, you’ll need to pay the peak fare (see below).
For longer trips (e.g. Bristol, London), you can save a lot of
money by buying your ticket up to 12 weeks in advance. Buy
online or at a staffed station. Tickets bought online can be
collected from the machine at Newcourt station.
DEVON DAY RANGER & EVENING RANGER
With this day ticket, explore all rail routes in Devon, plus
the Tamar Valley Line, for just £10 (£5 for child). Valid after
09:00 on weekdays and any time on weekends and Bank
Holidays. The Evening Ranger is valid after 18:00 seven
days a week, and costs £5 per adult, £2.50 per child.
DEVON & CORNWALL RAILCARD
For just £10 per year, this card gives Devon and Cornwall
residents a third off most Standard off peak tickets for you
and a friend when travelling in the two counties. Buy at
staffed stations (proof of residency and ID required).

for ‘National Rail Enquiries season ticket calculator’ or call

Buy your season ticket at a staffed station – take along a
recent passport-sized photo. Once you have a photocard,
weekly tickets can then be bought from the ticket machine.
