A HOME AWAY FROM HOME SERVING
EVANSTON FOR OVER 40 YEARS
Spirits were running high on that sunny September day when American Hospital Supply employees came to share
their afternoon with the children. The guests of the Child Care Center found happy, eager children in a caring, loving and
learning environment.
OUR PURPOSE
For over 40 years the Evanston
Child Care Center Association
has provided quality day care,
.educational guidance and nutri- trona: support tor infants, toddlers
and.ore-schooters.
We are a notfor-profit
corporation
serving
children
of parents who must
work to support their families.
OUR STAFF
Our Staff includes experienced
administrators
and teachers
trained in early childhood development. We have been able to maintain a child/teacher
ratio that
accomplished
maximum
individual attention and growth. We
use the services of social workers,
speech therapists and other professionals
from
the health
and social agencies in the Evanston network.
OUR NEEDS
OUR CHILDREN
Eighty five children from the age
of 2'/2 to 5 are cared for at our
permanentfacility at 1840 Asbury .
An additional 85 infants and toddlers, age 6 months to 2'/2 years,
are cared for in supervised
licensed homes throughout Evanston. Both programs
provide a
warm, safe daytime home open
from 7:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m.
weekdays,
forty-nine
weeks of
the year.
OUR VOLUNTEERS
Our governing Board of Directors
is made up of a broad cross section of the community. They are
responsibleforsetting
policy, projecting goals and managing the
business of the Association. The
Child Care Center
Auxiliary,
founded 11 years ago, consists of
90 young women from the Evanston area. The Auxiliary's primary
goal is raising funds to support
the programs of the Center.
$3,600.00 per year, per child. This may appear expensive, but when you consider the alternative for many
parents would be to turn away from productive jobs and turn to Public Aid, it makes the expense of subsidized day
care very cost effective. Despite the fact the Center receives some government support and a share of the
United Way funds, there is a continuing shortfall. We need more financial support from caring individuals.
_ Please join our growing family of contributors and volunteers whose donations guarantee the continuance of
quality day care in Evanston.
