Picking the best pattern size for you is important for
easier adjustments and proper fit. Learn to decipher
the information on the back of the pattern envelope.

Using a waist cincher corset as the project, you will learn to apply a
busk, set grommets and make bone casings. We’ll start by measuring
your body, cutting out your pattern, basting your corset together and
fitting it to your body. You’ll be introduced to a simple technique that
allows you to go from mock-up to finished corset fairly easily with the
use of exterior bone casings. Do not expect to finish in class! Our
goal is to complete one side of the corset in class, so you can finish
the rest at home. Special cancellation date of November 1 for refund.

HOW TO CHANGE A PATTERN
For those of you who have taken Veronica’s Beginning
Sewing, now you can learn how to make simple changes
to store bought patterns to give them new looks. Imagine
buying one pattern, but creating several styles by just
altering the sleeve design, hem length, neckline, etc. You
will not only build your wardrobe quickly and economically, you will come away with a basic understanding of

SEW VOGUE RETREAT
Join Nancy Shriber and Mac Berg for a sewing
retreat that is truly unique. Nancy and Mac
will host instructional seminars in the morning
and PLAY - PLAY - PLAY in the afternoon! You
will set up your “studio” and we are locked into
Vogue Fabrics after hours till midnight to sew on
your own projects without interruption with the
store available for those creative moments.
The retreat cost includes a special welcome reception soireé Thursday night, lunch on Friday,
Saturday and Sunday, plus high tea and happy
hour and a closing dinner on Sunday. Oh, yes,
it includes Mac and Nancy, too!
This year’s theme: One Jacket - Many Choices
