“Let’s Draw about Mexican
Music and Traditions”
The Institute for Mexicans Abroad invites all the children to participate in the 20th Children Drawing Contest
“Este es mi México”, through the Mexican Embassies and Consulates around the world.
For the first time, the contest request drawings elaborated by teams of at least two members, to promote
teamwork, harmony and coexistence among children.
This year, the contest promotes teamwork among children, from all nationalities, to elaborate drawings about
Mexican Music and Traditions, gathering ideas from friends and classmates. In addition, for the first time, we
are inviting children living in Mexico, and especially migrant children who have returned to Mexico, after
living abroad with their families.
Participating children must draw what they like the must about Mexico, its Music and Traditions. You can elaborate your drawing with a team of friends and classmates. It is your choice!
The contest goal is to promote knowledge about Mexico, among children interested in drawing about sceneries, histories, characters, culture or whatever they learn about Mexico, its Music and Traditions.
We are counting with all the children to begin this adventure!!!!!

Music and Traditions”
To participate:
1. Draw your artwork, with a team, and fill the Registration Form;
2. Send your drawing to the closest Mexican Embassy or
Consulate (directory available at: http://bit.ly/1WoEp1K);
3. In addition, take a picture of your drawing and the Registration Form and send it to the following e-mail address:
[email protected] .
Additional Requirements to Participate
• Children must be around 6 and 14 years old.
• Use brushes, pencils, acrylics, water paints, crayons, or whatever other drawing technique…
feel free, it is your choice.
• Draw on a square paper (30cm x 30cm or 12” x 12” inches).
• Sign and date at the front of the drawing.
• Do not forget to fill out the registration form.
• Copied or traced artworks, or drawings made with the help of an adult, left unfinished, without
the registration form or with different measures than indicated (30x30 cm or 12” x 12”), will not
participate in the contest.
• Deadline to submit your drawing is September 30th, 2016.
• The results will be published on the website of the Institute for Mexicans Abroad (www.ime.gob.mx)
by November 22nd, 2016.
NOTE: : By participating at the drawing contest, you authorize the Institute for Mexicans Abroad to use
your drawing at exhibitions and publications, for non-commercial purposes.

AWARDS:
• The 12 winners will receive an artwork by the Mexican artist endorsing the contest, Emiliano Gironella
Parra, a package of books of Mexican literature, a diploma, and a surprise gift.
• The winners and the honorable mention drawings will be part of an itinerant exhibition in Mexico and
the Mexican Consulates and Embassies around the world.
• The Mexican Embassy and Consulate sending the greater number of drawings will receive an artwork
by Emiliano Gironella Parra, the Mexican artist endorsing the contest.
JURY:
• Representatives of the Ministry of Culture of Mexico.
• Representatives of the Institute for Mexicans Abroad.
• Emiliano Gironella Parra, Mexican artist endorsing the contest.
• Mexican artists and contest guests.
Any situation not mentioned in the present document
will be resolved by the Institute for Mexicans Abroad.
