Resident Discount Card Information
Frequently Called Numbers
A valid Town of Cheektowaga Resident Discount Card is needed to
receive valuable discounts for many events and programs.
Children 6 years of age or younger will receive these benefits
through their parent’s card. At age 7, children will need their
own card. Resident Discount Cards are valid for two years.
To obtain a Resident Discount Card adults must have TWO
forms of identification, which include the following:
1. You must have a photo ID: a valid NYS driver’s license or a
valid non-driver ID.
2. You must have one additional form of ID which
contains your name and residence address such as: a
current utility bill, or a current bank statement.
For children, a parent must be present with their valid
Resident Discount Card or items 1 and 2 above and the child’s
birth certificate containing the parent’s name, report card and/or
school ID. Home schooled children must show documentation
from assigned school district. An expired Resident Discount
Card CANNOT be used as current proof of residency.
If you are using a P.O. Box for your mailing address—please
be prepared to show proof of your actual residence address
within the Town of Cheektowaga when purchasing your
Resident Card or registering for programs. Anyone found
abusing and/or attempting to defraud the Town of Cheektowaga
will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Non-resident guests are welcomed at our pool when accompanied
by a town resident with a valid resident discount card.
Town of Cheektowaga Pool Rules
1. All swimmers must have a valid Resident Discount Card to
receive resident discounts.
2. Visitors must be accompanied by a resident, with a valid
Resident Discount Card.
3. All pool patrons must wear swim suits or swim trunks.
Cut-offs, clothing with loose strings or ties, gym shorts or
undergarments are not permitted as swimwear. Patrons with
religious concerns must wear clean, covering garments that
do not interfere with their safety and the safety of others in
the water. *See Pool Supervisor for clarification.
4. Children 6 & under and non-swimmers must be accompanied
by parent or responsible supervisor (at least 12 years of age).
Supervision of Children 7-9 years of age is STRONGLY recommended.
5. Any person having an infectious or communicable disease
is prohibited from using a public pool.
6. Persons having open blisters, cuts, etc. are advised not to
use the pool.
7. Running, boisterous or rough play or excessive noise is
forbidden in pool area, showers or dressing rooms.
8. No food or drink, gum chewing or smoking is allowed in
the pool area or bathhouse.
9. Spitting, blowing the nose or discharging body wastes in
pool is strictly prohibited.
10.All persons using the swimming pool must take a shower
before entering the pool.
11. No Masks, Fins, Snorkels or Flotation Aids are allowed in pool i.e.
water wings, PFD, sewn-in Bathing suits, inner tubes, noodles.
Kick boards provided by pool-ONLY use in wading pool.
12.POOL SUPERVISOR HAS THE AUTHORITY TO EJECT
ANYONE WHO VIOLATES THE RULES.

A 30 minute water workout designed to tone the legs and
provide a mild cardio workout. Support “noodles” will be used
throughout the class so all the basics of water walking will
be learned. Minimum of 10 people registered to run class.

This course is designed to allow the
parent and infant to work together on
development of swimming skills at an early age. Parents
will be introduced to methods designed to help infants
feel comfortable and safe in the water.
Games and group activities will be an integral part of this
class. Parent Infant swim lessons will be offered one
day a week for six weeks. Pool water is not heated.

Learn basic gymnastics skills in Olympic
events, including floor exercise, balance
beam, and vault. We emphasize a FUN
and SAFE environment with something for everyone!
Gymnasts must complete this class and fulfill all the
requirements before moving into the Introduction to
Advanced Class. Special Note: Parents are not allowed in
the instruction area, it is very distracting to our gymnasts.
You may wait in the lobby or leave the building.
Ready for Advanced Gymnastics? This class teaches our
students the skills needed to enter the advanced classes.

The Summer Teen Club program will
take part in age appropriate activities
throughout the summer. There will be scheduled field trips
taken each week. The program is open to youth ages
13-15. The Summer Teen Club is NOT DESIGNED AS
CHILD CARE! These are TEEN ACTIVITY PROGRAMS.
The purpose of the Summer Teen Club is to provide an
opportunity for young people to develop personal skills,
clarify values, develop leadership skills, and to participate

Formerly known as Cheerleading Camp
Girls and boys ages 8-12 will have an opportunity to explore
the increasingly popular sport of cheerleading. Whether
you are thinking about joining a squad, want to learn some
basic moves or just want to have a week-long experience
of exercise, friendship and fun-this camp is for you.
Conducted by College Cheerleaders from Gannon University.
Camp activities will include basic instruction, crafts,
games and an end of camp performance for family and

are independent of the Town. Each organization has its
own officers and board of directors that sets its own
rules, regulations and fees. If you’re a new resident and

Have an interest in running but not sure how to start? Join our 0-5K running group! Twice a week, as a group,
we will begin our training to meet a 5k goal. Each class we will work on building endurance and strength; while
having fun! 0-5K is great for beginners and anyone interested in getting back into running. The first session
class runs for 7 weeks culminating with the Crabapple 5K Run on July 16th! Plus for joining the 0-5K running

of the Village of Depew, who live west of Transit
Road. If your mailing address and zip code is
Depew, NY 14043 and you live west of Transit
Road, you are a resident. A non-resident is
anyone who does not live within the Town of
Cheektowaga. Most programs/classes have
different fees for residents and non-residents.
Non-residents must pay an additional surcharge
in a fee schedule adopted by the Cheektowaga
Town Board. Cheektowaga Youth & Recreational
Services reserves the right to remove anyone

The Dartwood Park gazebo will be the setting for another

Permits will be issued on Wednesdays & Fridays, 7:30am
- 2pm, at the Parks Office, 500 Losson Road. The cost for
a permit is $40. Proof of residency is required. You must
come in person to obtain a permit. We are NOT able to
process credit card payments for Park Shelter Permits.

Picnic Paks
We have put together Picnic Paks to help you plan for picnics,
family reunions, birthday parties and weekend fun & games.
The pak contains a yellow football, playground ball, Toss-Um
set, Bocce Ball set, multi-colored volleyball, volleyball net,
two frisbees, set of horseshoes, equipment bag with an adult
softball bat, youth softball bat and three softballs. There is
a $20 rental fee with a $20 deposit. A valid driver’s license
is required to rent a pak. Call the Youth and Recreational
Services Department at least ONE WEEK IN ADVANCE to
reserve a Picnic Pak this summer. Your deposit will be
returned when all Pak items are returned in good condition.

July 11 – 14 | Fashion Illustration
8:30am-12:30pm – Johanna Brassel
Do you have a love for fashion? Do you enjoy drawing? If so, this camp is for you! Learn to draw fashion figures, while creatively
expressing yourself through designing and drawing garments. This exciting 4-day camp uses different media to teach you the
fundamentals of fashion illustration. No previous experience is necessary, just a desire to grow your skills!
July 11-14 | Digital Art

This class will introduce students the basic tools within Adobe Photoshop that will allow them to manipulate and edit photographs,
scanned materials, and traditional 2D artwork to create original digital illustrations. Students will explore some of the different digital
techniques and styles used to produce imagery stemming from different narrative, thematic, and conceptual sources. They will
be introduced to the broad commercial and creative application of digital artwork and illustration across the professional design
industry, and learn how they can begin to creatively tell their own visual stories.
July 18-21 | Sport Management

During this four day, 16 hour course, students will discover the sport industry world as a profession. Learn what skills are necessary
to land a job in this fast-paced, exciting field and ascertain the wealth of settings where one can put these skills to work. With
hands-on activities derived to expose students to all facets of event creation to event delivery, students will plan, promote, market
and execute an athletic event by the end of day four. Activities such as creating a run-down schedule, writing a press release,
developing a commercial, merchandising, planning ticket sales, creating a budget, strategizing a marketing plan, identifying human
and equipment resources, executing the plan and creating an event recap will be covered. Anyone who has a passion for sport
or a curiosity as to how major and minor events are pulled off will enjoy this class.
July 18 – 21 | Color your World
1:00pm-5:00pm - Sandra Reicis
Learn how to add color to your interiors to create rooms that you can be proud of. Whatever the mood you want, you can get it
with the correct color choices. This course will provide the basics of color theory as well as a bit of color psychology so that you
can make selections with confidence. Whether it’s a bold room makeover or just colorful accessorizing you will make a splash
with your next interior design project.
July 25-28 | Animation
8:30am-12:30pm – Sara Clabeaux-Gelster
An introduction to storytelling, creation and the production behind the animation process. Projects will include both traditional
animation techniques and an introduction to software used in the animation industry. Students will explore several areas of
animation, so that each one will get to experience what it is like attending a college animation program, and what they can expect
in a “career beyond college.”
July 25-28 | Mixed Media Drawing

In this camp students will explore a variety of media in the construction of drawings and images. Collage, marker rendering, ink
and charcoal along with other media will be used. Students will learn about the use of allegory and symbolism in the creation of
their work. No experience necessary.
August 1 -4 | Jazz

The Villa Maria Jazz camp will provide activities designed to enrich the participants in fundamental Jazz concepts. All participants
will receive guidance in performing Jazz music, listening to styles of important musicians and understanding Jazz building blocks.
The camp is designed for High School age students but others interested in an active educational experience focused on Jazz
music and musicians may inquire. More exciting details to be announced!
Recording Studio

Learn the basics with the latest technology. Students will gain a better understanding of digital recording through hands on learning
using the latest software and the basics of digital recording.
TOPICS INCLUDE: Learning professional software used in the music industry, gaining an understanding of how music is recorded,
microphone techniques & hands on recording sessions.
