AMWAY PHILIPPINES, LLC MARCH-APRIL 2014 ISSUE FEATURE STORY: Zheng Xin Qing and Zhou FanYang Day to night uses of the Artistry™ Intensive Skincare Advanced Skin Refinisher Beauty The of a Clear Skin in this issue Message 02Nutrilite 80th Anniversary Main feature 04The success story of Zheng Xin Qing Zhou FanYang Recognition 06Platinum 07 Gold producer 08Silver producer 09Bracket buster Product feature 14Artistry™ Intensive Skincare Advanced Skin Refinisher As we celebrate Nutrilite’s 80th Anniversary this year, we also reflect on the many milestones reached throughout the past eight decades. It all started with Nutrilite’s founder and visionary Carl Rehnborg whose groundbreaking scientific research led to the use of plant-based nutrients in daily supplements. His commitment to cutting edge science and nutritional health helped lay the foundation for Nutrilite’s current success. Add to this the millions of Amway distributors who sell Nutrilite products to customers around the globe, and Nutrilite has become the world’s No. 1 selling brand of vitamins and dietary supplements.* Indeed, there is so much to celebrate on this special anniversary. We also have a lot to look forward to. Plans to unveil a fully redesigned Center for Optimal Health in Buena Park, California are on track. This will include facilities for manufacturing, and research and development. Additionally, Amway has launched the Nutrilite Power of 5 Campaign in partnership with the nonprofit CARE and other non-governmental organizations. The goal is to address the serious issue of global childhood malnutrition. Finally, we are releasing The Global Phytonutrient Report. This was developed by Nutrilite and is one of the few reports that examine global fruit and vegetable intake, availability and potential impacts on health. Dr. Sam Rehnborg and Nutrilite scientists are sharing key findings from this report as part of a World Tour that is taking place in 2014 and into 2015. We have big goals for Nutrilite. There is so much more we can do to contribute to the optimal health of people throughout the world and we’re making every effort to further develop Nutrilite’s impact. And while we’ll continue to invest in science, technology and research to continue to make Nutrilite a global leader in health and wellness, success depends on our millions of distributors throughout the world. Selling Nutrilite products is an opportunity for a healthy life and a healthy income. And we thank you for your continued support and dedication to your business and the health of those around you. We hope you’ll join us in celebrating Nutrilite’s 80th anniversary. We look forward to growing this brand with you for many more years to come. *Source Euromonitor International Limited. www.euromonitor.com/amway-claims 16 Step by Step Guide to Washing Your Face Properly 22Day to night uses of the Events 24Platinum seminar CSR corner 26Amway One By One Conducts Story Telling Program at F. At Amway, every month is start a business month, whether in the U.S. or around the world! In fact, every day, we equip new entrepreneurs with the mentorship, confidence, products and training they need to own and run a business. Amway Chairman Steve Van Andel said, “We’ve never lost sight of our belief in entrepreneurs. They have been the essential . . . driving force of our business for over 50 years.” “Entrepreneurs fuel our success, as well as the economies of communities around the world,” added Amway President Doug DeVos. “Today, the spirit of entrepreneurism is alive and well.” The findings of the 2013 Amway Global Entrepreneurship Report – which measured the dynamics of entrepreneurism among 26,000 people in 24 countries – reinforce these statements. In 2014, Amway will continue to study the entrepreneurial landscape, looking at what helps and holds people back from bringing their entrepreneurial ideas to life. Amway will also be adding 13 new countries to our study this year, including India, Korea, China, Brazil, South Africa and Norway. A total of 37 countries will be surveyed, and the release of our results will coincide with Global Entrepreneurship Week in November of this year. Until then, follow us on or to join the conversation about the role that Amway, and the entire direct selling industry, plays in building and fostering the entrepreneurial spirit around the world. / march-april 2014 3 Zheng Xin Qing Zhou FanYang What made Zheng XinQing and Zhou FanYang succeed, amidst the challenges they faced when they were first starting out? What made them believers in the Amway business model? Read on and find out. 4 / march-april 2014 / march-april 2014 5 pin level / platinum Julieta and Czarina Miguel Tarlac City, April 2014 What is the secret to success? Hard work, patience, humility and faith in God. It has been almost seven years since we were introduced to this business possibility. Unlike some of the IBOs, I did not think twice and I knew from the start that I can do this because I love selling. However, selling alone is not enough. I think the values I learned from my parents—a farmer and a store-keeper, such as hard work and giving premium to education is something that helped me grow my Amway business. I also attended all the seminars that I could, to continue learning and improving. This Platinum recognition is another dream-come-true for me. Last October 2013, I was recognized as a Silver Producer, and then last February 2014, I was a Gold Producer. That was when I got up on the stage and was able to speak in front of a thousand people. I felt that I have inspired them, and that somehow, I was a hero. My children—all of whom I was able to send to medical school (one is now a Physical Therapist, one as is taking up medicine and the youngest, taking up nursing) are my inspiration. I was motivated to give them the best life I could, that which I did not experience growing up. My gratitude goes out to my ever supportive mentor, Dr. Donde and Mary, to Emerald Ghe and Teen, to my downlines and crosslines; to N21, you all make me feel great and you have shaped personality; and to Amway, you make me feel young, happy, healthy and beautiful, and soon, wealthy! You make our dreams come true. Maribeth and Michael Earl Riemer Agusan Del Sur, March 2014 We had moved to the Philippines in February of 2009. A few months thereafter, my wife was introduced to Amway. I wasn’t interested at the time because I knew all about Amway. In fact, a number of times in the past, well over twenty years ago, someone had presented the plan to me. “YES!”, while I was thinking, “NO!” After the meetings, I was usually asked if I was “all fired up.” They thought that because I was there, I was a part of the team, for I was with my wife and surely I must be on fire for the business. I just looked at them and said nothing. “You can’t make any money in Amway, can you?” Back in the U.S., I did not know anyone personally that had made any money with Amway. At the time she was presented with Amway, she was also looking into another business and thought she might do both. I told her not to do that, just pick one. I didn’t care which one she picked, I said, “Just chose one and put your heart and soul into it.” We moved to the Philippines after my forced retirement and were living on my small pension. It was enough to supply our immediate needs, but not what we would need a few years down the road. We have undertaken many ways to increase our earnings with random businesses like multicabs, tri-cycles, rubber & falcata trees and others. But those things have only produced an inadequate return. I now believe that Amway is the answer to the prayers we have prayed, the way God will supply the great financial needs. I believe the Scripture that says: “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19). Most of time God does not drop money out of the sky to supply our needs. He impresses others, at times to give of their bounty to help those in need. Other times he brings opportunities or things in our lives that when taken hold of will enable us to be able to enrich us and in so doing will enable us to find the means to fulfill our needs. Of course, she picked Amway. Initially, she was just dabbling in the business, and wasn’t really that committed. To help her commit, her immediate up-line, Lorely Gulisao, was so persistent, knocking in our doors every morning, talking to Maribeth about the business. Diamonds Mario and Evelyn Tero were also instrumental in convincing Maribeth to commit, when they stayed overnight in our home one time. After a few seminars, my wife realized that Amway is a couples business and persuaded me to go. To make her happy, I reluctantly agreed to make a few concessions. At the meetings we attended, the speaker would ask, “Are you all excited?!” “Are you all fired up?!” Everyone was saying, If you ask me now, “Are you excited?” I will definitely say, “Yes!” Jose and Violeta Sy Manila City, February 2014 From my experience in building my Amway business, the company requires a small investment but guarantees a big harvest—if you put in your best efforts. business. I have improved, I met a lot of people and I now have the right attitude. I have recommended Amway products to my friends, especially Nutrilite because I know that those are fantastic products. Currently, it is my son who is in-charge of the family My friends uses Amway products as well. business while I focus on our Amway business. If I can do Amway, now that I am now 65 years old, From my experience, I am happy; I don’t feel the why cant you? Do not waste this golden opportunity same pressures and stresses in doing the Awmay to succeed. 6 / march-april 2014 pin level / gold producer Edwin and Elaine Llamo Maryetta Falk Talisay City February 2014 Mindoro March 2014 Joel Remollena Byron and Rosanne Laurente Cainta April 2014 Davao City November 2013 Liberty and Francisco Lacsento Bohol January 2014 / march-april 2014 7 pin level / silver producer Ryan Fernandez Gerry Cayanan Erwin Larce Maribel and Glenn Dahan Quezon City March 2014 Manila February 2014 8 / march-april 2014 Davao City March 2014 North Cotabato April 2014 recognition / Bracket BUSTERS FEBRUARY 12% GUZMAN, HELEN GRACE M. & GUZMAN, BRYAN BULAON LEE, KOK TIAN & CHUA, YAN TING XU, GUANGRONG YANG, FUQUN LI, FUMEI MADERAL, LALAINE AMOR HUGO JAVIER, LILIAN TOBIAS & JAVIER, PRIMO TORRES DIOSMANOS, CARMELITA ABANTE & DIOSMANOS, DIOSCORO CHANG, ZITING ESTROPIGAN, VILMA ESPINOLA CAOILE, EDGARDO DE LEON ARRIOLA, MYLA THERESA M. Artistry’s latest offering, Artistry Intensive Skincare Advanced Skin Refinisher is yet another significant step forward. Fifteen to twenty years ago, 30 was considered the beginning of the decline of good health and good looks. At 40, most men and women looked significantly older than when they were in their early 30s. These days though, with all that is known about nutrition, health, skin and body care, those who want to pass for “twenty something” even in their 40s can now do so. Motherhood was the scapegoat for women who “let themselves go”, but these days, there are no excuses. The phrase “hot mama” has become fashionable as so many moms have the choice, and make the choice to continue to look good even after they have had kids. Few brands can claim to have advanced the science of extending youthfulness like Artistry, from direct selling pioneer Amway. Artistry’s latest offering, Artistry Intensive Skincare Advanced Skin Refinisher is yet another significant step forward. “Everyone wants a smooth, young looking skin, but the best skin care treatments are usually those found in dermatology clinics. A particularly popular and effective treatment these days is the dermatology fractional laser, a high tech procedure that “resurfaces” the skin. These treatments are typically quite costly and they 14 / march-april 2014 require a few sessions before yielding visible results,” according to Guia Santos, Artistry’s Brand Marketer. Santos added, “through exclusive proprietary technology, Artistry Intensive Skincare, Advanced Skin Refinisher provides all the benefits of dermatology fractional laser treatments, at their own convenience, sans the hassle of having to be treated at a clinic. It is an intensive "Smart Pore Eraser" for instantly softer, more eventextured skin with a progressively more refined look and feel.” Artistry’s Advanced Skin Refinisher uses a a newly invented and exclusive technology that addresses the 5 factors leading to uneven skin texture to deliver instant as well as long term skin textural benefits for aging skin. It is clinically proven to provide significant visible improvement in visible pore size, surface smoothness and oil control with just one use. After 2 weeks of usage, imperfections are minimized and skin is significantly more radiant and youthful. Clinical tests have shown that with extended use (6 weeks), visible improvements continue to increase with more dramatic reductions in the appearance of pore size, imperfections, roughness and oil production. When you wash your face incorrectly, it can lead to all kinds of familiar problems—damaged skin tissue, inflammation and redness, acne and dryness — to name a few. Here is a simple routine from a leading woman’s blog and Artistry, to get your skin clean and healthy just by washing properly, so you can put your best face forward. 1. Keep you hands clean. It all starts with clean hands. Dirty hands can transfer oil, bacteria and dirt to your face, so start by cleaning your hands with antibacterial soap. 2. Take it off—your make-up we mean! Put a dab of Artistry™ make-up remover on a cotton or facial wipe and apply it to your face. You want to be able to clean into your pores, and if makeup is in the way, that can't happen. Use makeup remover on cotton pads or makeup wipes. 3. Splash your face with lukewarm water If the water is too cold, your pores will tighten and you won't be able to clean them out. If the water is too hot, your skin will get dried out. Lukewarm water produces the smallest reaction in your skin, so it's the best temperature to use when washing. (This means turning the temperature down in the shower, too.) 16 / march-april 2014 4. Lather up a small amount of your favorite Artistry facial cleanser and apply to your face. A drop about the size of a dime is really all you need. Lather it in your (clean!) hands, and then apply it to your face using a circular motion. Apply a bit of pressure when you wash to stimulate blood flow, but don't press too hard! If you are too rough with your skin, you risk pulling and tearing it, which can also cause irritation, redness and acne flare-ups. 5. Gently scrub your skin Use a damp, soft washcloth or a sonic face scrubber to gently massage your skin in circular motions. Start on your forehead, and then move down the nose to the chin, and then scrub each cheek. Remember, don't apply too much pressure and don't pull. You want to exfoliate and work the cleanser into your pores, not irritate your skin. 6. Rinse off the cleanser Using water that is slightly cooler than lukewarm, splash your face until the cleanser is removed. Pat your skin dry with a clean towel (remember not to wipe or rub, as this can also tear and irritate your delicate skin). 7. Remove makeup around your eyes once more If you were wearing eye makeup, it's a good idea to take another swipe with makeup remover. Leftover flakes of mascara and eyeliner can get in your eyes and irritate them, even after you wash your face, so take the time to make sure everything is removed. 8. Finally, apply your favorite Artistry moisturizer and under eye cream Remember, the skin on your face is extremely delicate — and it's also the first thing people see when they look at you! Keep it beautiful and healthy by washing it and moisturizing it properly every night. / march-april 2014 17 nutrilite recipe / Want to Eat Your Pasta, Smoothie and Protein too?
