A hybrid Waltham-type butternut squash.
Maturity
85 – 95 days from sowing.
Plant Characteristics
A vining –type growth habit. Vigorous growth gives good leaf cover of fruit and plants remain active for longer.
Fruit Characteristics
Average fruit size of 1.2 to 1.8 Kg. Typical Waltham shape. Very good uniformity of both size
and shape. Flesh is a deep orange when fully mature. Small seed cavity.
Diseases Resistance
Intermediate resistance to ZYMV.
Features and Benefits
ARELA produces a large proportion of medium-sized fruit. Uniformity of both size and shape
is very good. The consistent shape is important in producing an attractive
end-product. The plants are very vigorous and remain green and active after most others are
in decline. Resistance to ZYMV reduces risk to growers.
