GENERAL INFORMATION
The shoot management is composed of the officers and directors of the U.S.T.A. ATA rules will govern
this shoot.
• The 2013 Utah State Shoot will consist of 1,300 targets shot on the days of
.June 18, (Marathons) 19, 20, 21, 22 and 23, 2013
• Fluorescent orange dome (PITCHED) White Flyer targets will be thrown.
.Doubles will be shot in 2-25 pair sub events.
Saturday’s Single Championship may be shot 50 birds per house; any event may be shot 50 birds per
house at the management’s discretion.
• All Singles and Doubles events will be carried over to the next day’s similar event until through
championship events.
• All ties in Handicap events will be shot off at the end of each day; unless mutually
agreed upon by all shooters to carry over.
• Shoot-off participants must report to the line within 10 minutes of their shoot-off call.
• Shooters winning or tying for Class in any Singles or Doubles event in this program will be advanced
at least one class for the next like event. Should you earn yardage in any Handicap event, including a
“marathon” event, it shall be your duty to report to the handicap chairman or his designee for earned
yardage punches.
• Errors in scores must be corrected on the score sheet before changing stations.
• In Handicap events, there shall be no more than two (2) yards difference between adjacent shooters and
will follow ATA standard rules for yardage separation on squads.
• All ATA shooters are invited to attend our Utah State Shoot.
• Sale of ammunition, re-loading supplies, etc., on the grounds without the permission of the Spanish
Fork Gun Club is strictly prohibited. Shells will be available at the club house. Hand loads must meet
the requirements set forth by the ATA and may be subject to inspection by the management.
• All shooters will be charged a daily USTA fee of $4.00 and an ATA fee of $3.00.
• The management reserves the right to refuse any entry or to disqualify anyone who interferes with or
disturbs the harmony of this shoot in any manner.
• All squadding will be straight through squadding, no exceptions.
• A pre-squadding fee of $2.00 per post will be charged at the time of pre-squadding starting April 15,
2013 on Presquad.com.
Any shooter re-squadding at shooter’s request will be charged a $20.00 fee.
• Watch your squad number. You will have three minutes to take your position with your squad or they
will proceed without you. The $20.00 re-squadding fee will be enforced if you miss your squad and
require re-squadding.
U.S.T.A. MEMBERSHIP MEETING
The Annual Membership Meeting will be held at Spanish Fork Gun Club between events of
the Singles Championship on June 22, 2013. Business will be conducted as follows:
• Presentation of State Team, Rookie of the Year and Special Awards.
• Presentation from Gun Clubs Bidding on the 2014 USTA Tournament location
• Other business as directed by Board of Directors.
• Voting for the 2014 USTA Officers.
• Voting for the 2014 ATA/USTA Delegate & Alternate Delegate.
• Voting on the 2014 USTA Tournament location.
All Utah shooters are encouraged to attend and to vote. You must have current year ATA
average card or a lifetime membership card to vote. Ballots will be given out when you
cashier. Voting will begin after the State Meeting on Saturday,

Waste Disposal - No wastewater of any kind will be permitted to drain onto the ground. Please
contain wastewater in holding tanks and dispose of it properly. For reservations call Debra

HANDICAPPING, SQUADDING & CASHIERING
Handicapping, squadding and cashiering will open Tuesday, June 18, 2013 from 3:00 PM until
6:00 PM. Wednesday through Sunday, office hours will be from 7:00 AM until 6:00 PM. Cash pay-offs
will be available after 11:00 AM the day following the event. ALL PRE-SQUADING OF AN EVENT
MUST BE CASHIERED PRIOR TO 6:00 PM THE DAY PRIOR TO THE EVENT OR YOUR
PRE-SQUADING WILL BE DELETED. Returned entry checks will be charged a $30.00 fee.

TARGET REQUIREMENT PENALTY
• Shooters who have NOT registered a total of 500 ATA Singles targets including both this
current and/or previous target year will be classified not less than CLASS B.
• Shooters who have NOT registered a total of 500 ATA Handicap targets including both this
current and/or previous target year will be classified not less than 23 YARDS.
• Shooters who have NOT registered a total of 500 ATA Doubles targets including both this
current and/or previous target year will be classified not less than CLASS B.
• Penalty classification does not apply to Special Category shooters shooting for targets only.
To ALL SPECIAL CATEGORY SHOOTERS: it is your responsibility to notify the
handicap table of your desired status, BEFORE event starts. It is also your responsibility to
notify the handicap table of your birth date upon initial registration.
Special category shooters are:
Lady I (up to age 55), Lady II (55 and over), Sub-Veteran (55-64), Veteran (65-69), Senior
Veteran (70 and over), Sub-Junior (under 15), Junior (15 to 17), Junior Gold (18-23).
All age-based categories are established on the shooters birthday.
ATA policy on fallback rules will apply to all events.
The USTA will consider Special Category championship trophies superior to Class
championship trophies.
The intent of the USTA regarding the winning of trophies: No shooter may win more than one
trophy per event.

1000 BIRD TEAM RACE: Utah Residents Only
A five-person team race will be held concurrently with the Championship Singles on Saturday.
Any five Utah shooters may form a team. The team must be declared to Chad Sorensen prior
to the beginning of Event 10. $100 will be awarded to the first and second place team. There is
no charge to enter.
400 TARGET HAA TEAM RACE: Utah Residents Only
A five person team will be made up from members of a gun club. Any one shooter may only
shoot for one club. A club may have as many teams as they want. This race will be held
concurrently with the Championship Singles, Doubles and Handicap on Saturday and Sunday.
All teams must be declared to Cashier (Leslie Bodily) prior to the beginning of Event 10.
There is no charge to enter.
UTAH GUN CLUB WOBBLE CHALLENGE
A five person team consisting of members from their home gun club in Utah will shoot one (1)
twenty five bird round from the 24 yard line. One shot per bird, 25 targets per person. Cost is
$25 per team. Sign-ups begin Sunday morning June 23, 2013 at 7:30 AM. Contest begins at
8 AM. Pays 1st and 2nd place team 60% - 40% of total entries. Targets donated by USTA.
UTAH TRAPSHOOTING HALL OF FAME
CONTRIBUTION AWARDS
Events 8 & 12
The $10.00 fee for this award is a tax-deductible donation to the Utah Trapshooting Hall of
Fame. The purpose of this donation is to further the Utah Hall of Fame Expansion Program.
All donors will qualify for the Utah Hall of Fame awards. Your entry card will show this
contribution and will be your receipt. The Utah Hall of Fame will retain 50% of the donation
while the remainder will constitute the portion to be awarded. Award will be paid out in four
Lewis Classes, 60/40% in each class on Events 8 & 12.
ATA HALL OF FAME CONTRIBUTION AWARDS
Event 12, Utah State Handicap Championship
The $15.00 fee for this award is a tax-deductible donation to the ATA Hall of Fame. The
purpose of this donation is to further the ATA Hall of Fame Expansion Program. All donors
will qualify for the ATA Hall of Fame awards. Your entry card will show this contribution
and will be your receipt. The ATA Hall of Fame will retain 50% of the donation while the
remainder will constitute the portion to be awarded. Award will be paid out in four Lewis
Classes, 60/40% in each class.
The Trapshooting Hall of Fame maintains a museum at the home grounds in Vandalia, Ohio
and provides a research library for the history of our sport. It also awards college scholarships
and conducts a youth program to promote the future of trapshooting. We encourage you to
participate and support its various activities.

UTAH 2013 STATE TEAM REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Utah State Team requirements for the 2012 target year and future years are:
.Men’s First and Second Team 18 – 64 years old
• Singles : 2,000
• Handicap : 2,000
• Doubles : 2,000
• 600 Singles, 600 Handicap and 600 Doubles of that team requirement must be shot from six (6)
different USTA clubs.
Special category teams: Lady, Junior, Veteran & Rookie of the Year
All special category shooters state team category will be determined by category selection at your first
shoot of the target year. For example: if a shooter qualifies for (2) State Team Categories such as Junior
and Lady, which ever category is selected on the first shoot of the year for that shooter will be the State
Team that you are qualified to make otherwise State Team category will be determined by age.
• Singles : 1,500
• Doubles : 500
• 400 Singles, 400 Handicap and 400 Doubles of that team requirement must be shot from four (4)
The Rookie of the Year candidates will be required to submit a resume to the USTA Secretary on or
before March 1st following the target year applying for to be reviewed by the USTA BOD.
Special Category Teams: Senior Veteran and Sub Junior
• Singles : 1,500
• Doubles : 500
• 200 Singles, 200 Handicap and 200 Doubles of that team requirement must be shot from two (2)
All members of any Utah State Team must be a member in good standing with the ATA during the year
they are named as a team member.
All registered targets, marathon and otherwise, will count toward all State Teams for the purpose of
determining averages.
Marathon targets will not count towards a club requirement.
A marathon target is defined as a group of targets provided by a club in quantities to be considered an
endurance contest and not a competition.
Once an event has started, there will be NO refunds.
DRAW SCORE GUN SHOOT
A draw score gun shoot will be held on Events #7, 8, 9, &10 for those that pay the Gun shoot option on
these events for a Ruger 10/22 (4). Ruger 10/22’s were donated by Steve Johnson of Utah Bail Bonds.
Draw score number will be drawn after event concludes.
ADDED MONEY DISPURSEMENT
The $50,000 added money will be dispersed on events #4-12 and HOA for Utah Residents and on events
#10-12 and HOA for Non-residents. All added money for individual events will be divided by the
number of shooters in each CLASS or YARDAGE GROUP and will be paid 60%-40% to the top scores
of each CLASS or YARDAGE GROUP. (See event detail or trophy list for specific amounts per event.)
HOA added money will pay Champion, Runner-up, and Class and Category winners for Utah Residents.

Event example: 100 Shooters enter event that has $3,000 added money, 10 shooters in AA, 20 Shooters
in A, 25 shooters in B, 30 shooters in C and 15 shooters in D class, money would be split like this….
AA=10 shooters = 10% =$300 split 60%-40% top two scores
A=20 shooters = 20% = $600 split 60%-40% top two scores
B=25 shooters = 25% = $750 split 60%-40% top two scores
C=30 shooters = 30% = $900 split 60%-40% top two scores
D=15 shooters = 15% = $450 split 60%-40% top two scores

2013 ATA STATE SHOOT BUCKLE AWARD
One(1) buckle to be awarded at each state/provincial shoot. Buckle goes to resident champion
of handicap event preceding state handicap championship. A sum of $500 will also be awarded
(split 50-30-20 high gun) to top three resident shooters in same state event as buckle. State buckle
winner will be eligible for another buckle and $1,000 (split 50-30-20 high gun) at the 2013 Grand

The $20 fee for this award is a 50% tax-deductible donation to the Hall of Fame. This
donation provides support to our new museum and to the many worthy projects undertaken
by the Hall of Fame. All donors will qualify for the Hall of Fame Award. Your entry
card shows this contribution and is your receipt. The Hall of Fame will retain 50% of the
donation while the remainder will constitute the portion to be awarded. Monies will be
paid out in three Lewis Classes, 60/40 high gun each class. The high score in the event
will receive a Shamrock Leathers specifically crafted oak and leather wall clock suitably
engraved. NOTE: Any ties will be resolved by shoot management’s discretion.
