Chamber Presents 55th Annual Banquet
Chair Raina Sanford Announces 2015 Goals
Thursday, January 29, 2015 @ 7:00pm
Georgia Northwestern Technical College
Gordon County Campus
It is with great pride and honor that I begin my term as the 2015 Chair of the Gordon County Chamber of Commerce. I look
forward to working with the Chamber President and staff as well as my fellow Chamber Board Members. I also am looking
forward to working closely with all our Chamber committee members who take the time to work together for the greater good of
our community.
The past year was exciting and productive as our committees focused on implementing their action items and worked hard to meet
goals, bringing meaning and benefit to our Chamber members and to our community. Many of our sponsored events saw record
attendance in 2014 along with many positive comments from our chamber members. This has fueled our committee members’
desire to think outside the box to find additional ways to bring value to our Chamber members in 2015. I am certain they will
succeed in their endeavor and that our Chamber members will benefit from their hard work.
I have been asked by many people what my vision is for the Chamber this year. My first thought is that I would like to see all
Chamber members feel pride in their membership and know that the Chamber of Commerce brings benefit and value to their
business. Our community has many valuable businesses such as agriculture, manufacturing, small business, large business,
government, healthcare and educational institutions to name a few. It is all these businesses working together that makes Gordon
County a great place to live, work and play.
My final thought is that I would like to see more people from our local businesses become involved in our committees. It is
important to have diversity and strong members to create an atmosphere of teamwork and to develop innovative and creative
ideas. It is important to have committee members that represent all the businesses in our community in order to make sure that the
Chamber is supporting and meeting the needs of all our members, so I encourage you or someone representing your business to
serve on one of our many committees.
In closing, I feel very blessed to be a part of this community and the Gordon County Chamber of Commerce. I would like to thank
the Chamber President and staff, the Chamber board members, Gordon Hospital and my family for allowing me to serve. I look
forward to another successful year in 2015 with many blessings for our community and our businesses.

Mildred Landress Dutton and Terresa
Dutton were the happy winners of the
2014 Convention & Visitors Bureau
Passport Contest. The mother and
daughter, both lifelong residents of
Gordon County, enjoyed visiting the
local sites and collecting card stamps
throughout the year. The figurines they
each received were commissioned and
handcrafted by a local artist.

Twenty-two years ago, Beth Lacefield
combined her experiences in interior and
fashion design to create a small line of
hand painted holiday ornaments. Thanks
to her talent, Beth’s company Lacefield

sew workroom with a focus on various
holiday décor items. In response to market
demands, the company shifted its focus
to creating soft goods for the home such
as slipcovers and drapery panels. Today,
Lacefield designs a line of printed textiles for
