Today’s sophisticated consumers value not only the
quality of the foods they eat, they are also concerned
about how they are made. Solar energy will make it
possible to bring our pistachios from the field to the
store while off-setting the carbon emissions from the
consumption of 4,198 barrels of oil.
In partnership with Cenergy Power, Setton Pistachio
of Terra Bella, Inc. is harnessing the power of the sun
to make pistachios even greener than before. With
the addition of two new solar photovoltaic (PV)
systems totally 1.7 MW, Setton’s Solar Power System
is the largest solar power system in the central valley.
Photovoltaic (PV devices) or “solar cells” change
sunlight directly into electricity.

Setton’s new solar power system will produce over
2.6 million kilowatt hours of clean energy per year to
sort, roast and package millions of pounds of
pistachios each year in Setton’s 300,000 square foot
processing facility.

Located in the heart of the San Joaquin valley in
California’s central valley, Setton Pistachio of Terra
Bella, Inc. is one of America’s largest pistachio
growers and processors. The family’s passion for
farming California pistachios began in 1989 and
today Setton farms over 7,000 acres owned and in
partnership with others.
Our impressive 50 acre processing and storage
facility spans 300,000 square feet, incorporating the
latest technologies in each stage of production. Our
ability to focus on every step of the process ensures
the top quality and value of our products for
consumers. Setton attends to each detail of growing,
harvesting, processing, manufacturing and
packaging pistachios.
California’s central valley provides the ideal
environment for growing the strong beautiful trees
that bear our best tasting pistachios. With ownership
in over 7,000 acres of planted pistachios, totaling
nearly 1 million pistachio trees, Setton and its grower
partners are advocates of healthy farming which
assures that our pistachios are grown responsibly.
