Using the new bulk editor tool
The bulk editor in the Pinterest Ads Manager helps you
create and edit several campaigns or Pins at once.

CREATING MULTIPLE CAMPAIGNS AND/OR PROMOTED PINS
•
Download the blank CSV template linked under Create
•
Fill out the required columns (descriptions of each column are below, and also in the second row
of the CSV template)
o
The descriptions in the CSV template start with a ‘#’ – your entries should not include
the ‘#’
•
Save the CSV file and upload it— if you’re creating new Pins, upload your image files as well

Some things to keep in mind when creating a campaign:
§
To create multiple Pins in a campaign, just copy and paste the same campaign
info for all Pins within that campaign
§
If you want to use an existing campaign, simply use the campaign ID and leave
all other campaign fields blank
o
§
You can find the existing campaign ID on the campaign dashboard URL
Set your campaign to Active if you’re ready to go live, but remember, your
Promoted Pins will still need to be reviewed
§
Our campaigns run in UTC, so if you’re setting up campaigns later in the day,
you may have to set the start date to a future date
o
Some things to keep in mind when creating a Promoted Pin:

If you’re creating a new Pin to promote:

Place the images in a folder and fill out the image file name column on
the asset sheet, including the extension (e.g.: Test_image.jpg)
Include a Pin description (required), organic Pin URL (the destination
URL, required), Promoted Pin name (optional) and Promoted Pin URL
(where the Promoted Pin will drive to, if you want to add specific
tracking parameters)
o If you leave the Promoted Pin URL blank, we’ll default to the
organic Pin URL
If you’re promoting an existing Pin from your profile:

Some things to keep in mind when filling out your targeting:

Copy and paste the Pin ID (formatted as: P687195232197) and leave the
Pin description and organic Pin URL fields blank
Include a Promoted Pin URL if you want to track this Promoted Pin
separately, or if this Promoted Pin has a different landing page
o If you leave the Promoted Pin URL blank, we’ll default to the
existing organic Pin URL
Make sure to include at least 1 interest or 1 keyword
Interests:
• If you want to target interests, add at least 1 interest.
• We use specific codes that refer to each interest (see ‘Interest Codes’
below, or check out the Help Center)
Keywords:
• Add at least 1 keyword and no more than 2,000 comma-separated
keywords
• We recommend setting at least 20-30 relevant terms per Pin, making
sure to exclude spaces between keywords (for example: summer
outfits,vacation outfits,bathing suits)
Locations:
• Specify US, CA to target all U.S. and Canada locations
• Specify US to target U.S. only
• Specify CA to target Canada only
• We use specific codes that refer to metro areas (see ‘Location Codes’
below, or check out the Help Center)
If you want to target all locations (U.S. only), genders or devices, make sure to
specify All
Here’s a tip: If you already have existing Promoted Pins running, you can download all
your data to take a look at how the spreadsheet is formatted)
NOTE: Do not delete the first and second row (column name and description). Do not delete or change
the order of any columns.
EDITING MULTIPLE CAMPAIGNS OR PROMOTED PINS

Download your existing Promoted Pins data under Edit
•
Edit the fields you want to change (descriptions of each column are below, and also in the
second row of the CSV template)
•
If you’re making campaign-level edits, you only have to adjust one row and delete all other rows
with the same campaign. Alternatively, you can apply the same changes to all lines with the
same campaign
•
Save the CSV file and upload it

REVIEWING YOUR PINS
•
If there are any errors in your bulk sheet, you’ll see a red error message on the ‘review your pins’
screen when you try to submit. Each line should highlight where the error is located and what
needs to be fixed.
•
If there are no errors, the ‘review your pins’ screen will display a preview of your Promoted Pin
NOTE: Even if you set the status to ‘active,’ your Promoted Pins will still have to go through ad review
before they go live.
