8th cold pilger mill put into operation at TPS
End of year 2013, the owner family Lepper as well
as the Management of TPS-Technitube Röhrenwerke
GmbH in Daun decided to invest more than 3 million
Euros in the purchase of further rolling machines
and highly-sophisticated tube straightening machines
which have now startened production in the stainless
steel mill.
“This is already the fifth rolling machine which we have
set up ourselves within the last 10 years, and our existing production capacities could almost be doubled
thanks to this”, says Dietmar Weides, one of the Managing Directors at TPS. “Again, our maintenance team
significantly contributed to the rapid installation of this
equipment”, Weides continues. “We are especially
happy that everything worked so excellently as, this
time, mainly our young generation was involved. This
is particularly due to the fact that there was a certain
change in generation in this important department.

We have already prepared ourselves optimally for the
subject maintenance and demographic change some
years ago by successfully training numerous young
people.
A modern maintenance must ensure that the equipment works efficiently, with a high level of availability
and therefore contributes considerably to the competitiveness in our global markets and to the respective
productivity. The realisation of such performance can
only be achieved with qualified and motivated Maintenance personnel, which we absolutely have. In this
respect, we have also made the right investment”,

long upsets for up to 3 recuts!

The bigger, the better
Custom made forgings
Besides the standard delivery program of Forgings
(Flanges, Forged Fittings etc.) TPS-Technitube Röhrenwerke GmbH is also able to provide our customers
special forgings up to 6,5 meters OD and a weight of
approx. 40tons.
In the Year 2014, we once again proved our skills,
when we delivered forged rings with an outer diameter
of 6.200mm and a weight of approx. 8 tons. Due to the
big outer diameter of the rings, TPS did not only supply
the rings, but also organized the complete “special”
transport incl. all necessary governmental authorizations and the Police escort in order to satisfy our
customer.

Considering the Motto “the bigger, the better” our
forging range incl. various Material Grades like Carbon
Steel, Stainless Steel, Alloy Steel, Duplex, Super Duplex,
Monel, Titanium etc..
For our forgings (as well as for our complete range of
products) we can also offer a very short delivery time,
since a big STOCK of raw material is available.

The 17th edition of the Rio
Oil & Gas Expo and Conference took place in Rio
de Janeiro, Brazil from
15. - 18.09.2014. More
than 1300 Oil Companies, Service Providers
as well as Brazilian and
international institutions
presented their products
and have attracted over 47000 visitors to come to the
Rio Centro this year.
„TPS this year for the second time after 2012 has
showcased their products and during all 4 exhibition
days’ guests from many different companies, mainly
from Latin America has been informed about the
wide range of TPS products”, Mr. Guido Boles – Sales
Director of TPS informed.
For sure TPS will participate in the next event 2016 as
the Rio Oil & Gas Expo and Conference belongs meanwhile
to one of the most important “Must Be Exhibitions” for
TPS.

The Rio Oil & Gas Expo and Conference is the biggest
event of the Oil & Gas Industry in Latin America being
organized by Brazilian Petroleum, Gas and Bio Fuel
Institute (IBP).
From 10 - 13 November 2014 the ADIPEC took place
in Abu Dhabi. According to the organizer, it was the
biggest and largest ADIPEC ever. Over 2.000 companies presented thousands of oil and gas products to visitors from 98 countries.
For TPS, it was one of the best shows in the last years.
Our booth in the German pavilion was very well attended and we were glad to see many known and unknown
faces.
“After last years’ big success, we expected the 2014
edition to be on the same level but our expectations
were exceeded by far. Throughout all four exhibition
days, guests from many different industries came
to get the latest news on the wide product portfolio of TPS. Interesting discussions, the opportunity to
intensify existing contacts and establish new ones
make an attendance at ADIPEC very worthwhile”, states
Mr. Michael Kraemer, Sales Director of TPS.
With an ever-growing number of visitors, ADIPEC has
definitely made a big step forward by taking place
annually. The development of the last years let us look
forward to the upcoming show, which will take place
from 9 – 12 November 2015 at the ADNEC in Abu
Dhabi.
