Happy House Daycare Company Background Types & Nature of Work Happy House Daycare is a fully licensed and accredited daycare that provides care for children of all ages since 2008. The Daycare provides care for 215 children with 11 classrooms and 35 employees. Happy House Daycare offers a variety of ways to earn extra income at the Centre including overtime opportunities: Full-time Preschool Room Teacher: ability to plan and implement activities that are developmentally appropriate care for and teach preschool children in a large group setting provide supervision and guidance of daily activities some light cleaning duties Full-Time Toddler Teacher: ability to plan and implement activities diapering and pottying young children caring for children ages 19-35 months provide supervision and guidance of daily activities some light cleaning duties Full-Time Infant Room Teacher: ability to plan and implement activities feeding and diapering children 0-19 months provide supervision and guidance of daily activities some light cleaning duties Float Staff: full-Time Staff break reliever laundry, food carts and supplies up-keep some cleaning and maintenance duties Pre-Kinder Room Teacher: planning and implementing academic curriculum teaching and getting children ready for a school setting, both socially and academic provide supervision and guidance of daily activities some light cleaning duties The philosophy at Happy House Daycare is that employees take ownership. Happy House Daycare Full-Time/Part-Time Out of School Care Teacher, Out of School Care, Float staff in Daycare: planning and implementing activities provide supervision and guidance of daily activities for older children problem-solving and monitoring school age children some light cleaning duties Ideal Candidate Qualifications Early Learning and Child-Care Diploma or equivalent education experience in a child care setting must be in good mental and physical health passionate about teaching children ability to work in higher-stress situations responsible, reliable and knowledgeable about the first stages of development good mental and physical health Bachelor of Education Degree (required for some positions) Training Opportunities On-the –job training is provided. Hours, Pay & Benefits Happy House Daycare is open Monday to Thursday 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Fridays from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. They are closed on holidays. General starting wages increase with education, experience and time with the company. A Child Development Assistant earns a average of $29,007 yearly. A Child Development Worker earns an average of $33,759 annually. A Child Development Supervisor earns an average of $40,828 yearly No certification 6 month maximum to obtain $10.50 an hour until certification is earned.
