GRAND KNIGHT‘S MESSAGE
Brother Knights,
Winter is finally drawing to a close, and
Spring will be upon us before we know it. On
April 23rd The Councils Annual Dinner and
Dance will take place. This year’s event will be
chaired by DGK Ed McGibbon. The cost is
$75.00 pp. There is a new Venue this year.
The event will be held at Gennaro’s Catering
Hall on the corner of 13th Avenue & 66th Street.
As usual, there will be lots of food and drink, Raffles, a
50/50 Drawing, and a general good time to be had by all.
Please make every effort to attend this, as the Committee
has worked very hard to make this a success.
The members of the Council will be selling Palm
Crosses on March 13th & March 20th in front of St.
Athanasius and St. Dominic’s Churches. Please support
this fundraiser.
Also in April, our Columbiettes will be hosting their
Annual 4 Seasons Card Party in the Council Chambers at
7:30 P.M. This is their Major Fundraiser for the year, and
it is always a sellout. Contact Chairperson Linda Scalici at
718-256-7731 or JoAnne Toigo at 718-376-8025 for
tickets. Don't get Shut Out!!!! Ticket price includes Food,
Soda, Coffee, and Dessert.
In Conclusion, both JoAnne and I would like to wish
each and every one a Happy and Blessed Easter.

MOTIONS:
Motion made by PGK Carl Bartolotti to
donate the sum of $200.00 to Bishop
Kearney High School to assist them with
their fund raiser to offset tuition costs. Seconded by PGK
Jim LaSalle, Mike A. Nuccio and others. Motion Passed.
Motion made by PGK Carl Bartolotti to expend the
sum of $800.00 to offset the costs of sending 2 delegates to
the NY State Convention; this is a standing motion and
needed no vote.

FOOD PROGRAM:
The food pantry has had its ups
and downs. Hunger is always up.
PLEASE, each time you come to
the council, bring an item of nonperishable food.
A can of Soup, a box of Pasta, a
can of Vegetables, a jar of
Peanut Butter and/or Jelly, a box of Cereal, etc. Every ite
m goes a long way in feeding families and individuals
who struggle to survive.
Matthew 25:35: For I was hungry and you gave me
something to eat.

FS News:
Knight Alert notices have been sent to those who have not
paid their dues. Knight Alert is the final dues reminder that
members receive. The next step is the first step towards
suspension. To those who have received the Knight Alert
notice, please pay your dues as soon as possible. The
Knights of Columbus is a strong organization because of
its members. Every member we lose softens our voice.
Congratulations to our newest 1st/2nd Degree members;
Anthony Bianco, Damon Coromilas, and Joel Medina.
Anthony and Damon took their 1st Degree on January 26
at Columbus Council and Joel took his 1st Degree on
February 17 at John Hughes Council. All three, plus Kevin
Regan and Christopher Simeone, took their 2nd Degree
on February 17 at John Hughes. Welcome to our council
and our order.

On Sunday, 3/13/2016 and Palm Sunday 3/20/2016 we
will be selling Palm Crosses in front of St. Athanasius
and St. Dominic’s after all morning masses. This is a
