pagemaps is three!
It’s really hard to believe that PageMaps
is turning three this month. I stopped for a
moment and thought about the number of
sketches that must be on the site and lost
count (I should qualify this by saying that
math is NOT my strong suit). To celebrate this
auspicious occasion, see page two for the
anniversary contest details, as well as a big
announcement for all you pixel pushers!
My spotlight layouts for May are two pages
that made me want to stop everything I was
doing and scrap. Megan’s darling daughter,
all decked out in a frilly tutu, brought a huge
smile to my face. Seriously, could she be any
cuter? Iris has long been one of my favorite
scrappers and I love her rotated approach
to the sketch. The birds and branches across
the top were the perfect touch to her page.
May’s sample pages were made by a truly
talented bunch of gals and I hope you’ll check
iris babao-uy
out everyone’s online galleries for more inspiration. Just follow the Friends of PageMaps link on
the home page.
On deck for June is the quarterly installment of CardMaps, followed by
a set of SideMaps (8½x11 horizontal) in July.
If anyone is interested in contribution to the SideMap samples, shoot me an email with a link to
your blog or gallery ([email protected]).

To celebrate its third-year anniversary, PageMaps is hosting a sketch contest. Here are the
contest details:

Dates of Contest: This wing-ding starts
Wednesday, April 15, 2009 and ends
Sunday, May 24, 2009 (12 midnight
MST)
Entries: ONE ENTRY PER PERSON, so
choose your weapon (page size)
carefully. If you enter more than
once, I’ll have to send Guido after
you.
Who Can Enter: Open to everyone all
over the world (I’d say the universe,
but I understand it’s pretty cold on
Mars this time of year). Paper or
digital—your choice.
Create Your Entry: After selecting the
category you’d like to enter (see list
at left), choose a Map of that size

that Map and send ‘er in! Please do not use
a sketch from the current book; only a sketch
from this site is eligible.
Maps That Are Excluded From This Contest:
MiniMaps, TagMaps, RoundMaps, HalfMaps,
BasicGrey sketches and sketches from the
book Scrapbook PageMaps.
How To Enter: Email a photo or scan of your
contest layout/card to contest@pagemaps.
com along with your name, address, email
address and month you chose your map
from. In the subject line of your email, type
the category you are entering. Please make
sure your entry is an attachment to your email,
not a link to a web page (like PhotoBucket, a
private gallery, or something like that).
Fine Print: Winners will be notified via email no later than
Thursday, May 28, 2009 and all five winning entries will
appear in the June 2009 PageMaps newsletter and on
the PageMaps site. By entering, you are giving PageMaps permission to publish your entry on its website and
newsletter. Your entry must be a new, never-before-see
layout. Do not post your entry in any gallery, message
board, blog or website until the winners have been
announced (June 1, 2009).

For almost as long as PageMaps has been
online, I’ve been emailed at least once a
week by a digi artist, asking when the monthly
pagemaps will be offered as digital templates.
Okay, okay, ooooooohkay! :-)
Beginning with the May set, each month’s
set of PageMaps will be available for down-
load as a complete set of digital, layered
templates, both PS and PSE friendly. Ten
templates, all zipped up, for one low price of
$7.50—that’s just 75¢ a template!
I would love to see your digi creations with
these new templates, so please do share.
