PETERLEE SHOW 2010
SUMMARY
38th Peterlee Show
4th & 5th September 2010
The new layout of the Showfield worked really well
and lots of positive feedback has been received
from townspeople and organisations.
This year’s Show started off with the Parade from the
Leisure Centre including Jazz bands, Pipe Bands, Brass
Bands, Stilt Walkers and a mix of children and adults
from different organisations marching to the Showfield.
We had a weekend full of sunshine with families having
lots of fun watching free performances over the 2 days
of Festival Circus. Local companies competed against
each other in ‘It’s a Knockout’. The Funfair was as
popular as ever with lots of children having fun and trying
out the amazing new rides.
A fantastic host of performers including The Nikki
Summers Band, Emerald Thieves and Gangsters of Ska
took to the stage on Saturday evening and kept the
crowds entertained. A fabulous fireworks display
finished the night off perfectly.
The team from Sun FM hosted the weekend once again
from the main stage.
Competitive Shows, the Dog Show, Horticultural Show
and Crafts Show received considerable attention from
our visitors this year. New this year in the Horticultural
was the Children’s Section, which was well received.
The Companion Dog Show saw an increase in entries
this year, with families bringing their pampered pooches
to take part. There was also a free dog chipping service
available on Sunday from Animal Ambulance Stray Aid.
