“Where Everybody is Somebody!” Mary C. Marshall, Superintendent Lisa Wagner, Curriculum Director www.pentwaterschools.net A WORD FROM SUPERINTENDENT MARSHALL SUMMER ISSUE Volume 7 Issue 4 JUNE 2016 We watched fourteen enthusiastic graduates enter into a new phase of their lives once they received their diplomas on May 27, 2016. Future plans for our graduates include attending Ferris State University, Central MI University, Grand Valley State University, West Shore Community College, Grace Bible College, UNLV, and Michigan Tech University as well as work and technical school. These young people are ready for their future, and we couldn’t be prouder of them and their accomplishments. The end of the year is a significant time of reflection and we have much to be grateful for as the 2015-2016 school year ends. Our students worked hard and showed academic gains. Our teachers developed effective curriculum and instructional practices and showed true flexibility as they worked to meet the needs of each child. Our community continued to support our efforts through volunteerism, scholarships, contributions toward critical programs to support our students. Together, we raised the bar with pride. As I write my last Superintendent update to you, I would like to thank you for the opportunity provided to me to be a part of the Pentwater Falcon team. I have grown professionally and personally through the experience, and as I transition to retirement here in our village, I look forward to finding ways to support our kids and our community. I am looking forward to the leadership of Scott Karaptian, our new Superintendent/Principal. Mr. Karaptian brings many strengths to the district and his leadership will take us to even higher levels of success. But for now, let’s all bask in a Pentwater summer, support our kids in the creative play and daydreaming that come along with a slower summer season, and collectively, keep an eye on them to assure they are safe. It truly does take a village, and I can’t think of a better village than Pentwater to raise a child! OUR MISSION IS TO PROVIDE AN ENVIRONMENT THAT ENCOURAGES EACH CHILD TO SUCCEED BOTH ACADEMICALLY AND SOCIALLY AS A MEMBER OF THEIR COMMUNITY ACADEMIC HIGHLIGHTS— (4.0 MP4/S2—ALL CAPS; 4.0 S2—Low Caps; 4.0 MP4—Low Caps; MP3, MP4 or S2 Honor Roll– Low Caps) PROM 2016 The prom was held on Saturday, 5/7/16, at the 7th Grade: JUSTINE MURPHY (4.0), Lucas Quinteros Cartier Mansion in Ludington.
