There are 500 acres of rolling Devon countryside, mature woodland and lush green caravan and camping meadows lined with Beech and Ash tree Devon hedges. The site is a peaceful retreat and makes an ideal base for exploring a wide variety of outstanding scenery and for visits to many places of interest and family attractions. Within close proximity of Stowford, there is the natural beauty of Exmoor National Park - wild, open moorland, deep river valleys, wooded gorges and the rugged appeal of Valley of the Rocks. Lynmouth - England’s ‘Little Switzerland’ - provides some of the most spectacular coastal scenery in the British Isles. Elsewhere along this Photographed by Steve Russell © Damien Hirst and Science Ltd. All rights reserved, DACS 2012 coastal fringe you will find magnificent cliff headlands, sheltered coves, picturesque harbours and stretches of golden, sandy surfing beaches. Only 8 miles away is Woolacombe, a regular winner of both Blue Flag and Premier Awards for beach safety and cleanliness, and rated as one of the top 10 beaches in the world. Over the past 25 years that I have been caravanning I can honestly say that this was one of the most pleasant sites I have ever stayed at…I would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone planning a holiday to North Devon. Mrs Pitt, North Somerset Touring Caravan & Camping Park Stowford - Our family business Stowford Farm Meadows was established in 1978 by Winston Rice and family; 35 years on the family continue to strive to maintain the same commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction that has been a trademark of Stowford since its early days. Over the years the site has developed to a place where it is now recognised to be amongst the very best of the best in the country. The evidence of the years of commitment and investment is there for all to see: • An award winning Touring Caravan and Camping Park with a full range of facilities for all the family to enjoy • A gold award Caravan Storage facility making it easy for regular customers who love to return time after time • Caravan Centre supplying the market-leading Bailey Caravans, Bailey Retreats and Bailey Motorhomes (via our South Wales Centre) as well as a selection of pre-owned caravans • An air conditioned Caravan Accessory Shop and full NCC Approved Caravan Workshop • A high quality development of luxury Country Lodges, available to buy as Holiday Homes The natural features of our farm have been maintained with each of our five touring meadows being surrounded by Devon banks and hedging. Should you decide to holiday at Stowford in 2013 you can be assured that we are continually working hard to ensure that your caravanning holiday is all that you hope it will be, and more… • And all this development, sympathetically and responsibly managed in a way that has lead to the “David Bellamy Gold Award” for conservation OPEN ALL YEAR 01271 882476 BOOKING HOTLINE or book online at www.stowford.co.uk 4 Birds were singing all around us – perfect! Woodland Walks Several years ago, a 70 acre area of woodland was purchased and prepared for the enjoyment of our guests. The woodland now benefits from an excellent network of wide waymarked paths and tracks which will take you deep into the beautiful Bittadon Valley on a 3 mile circular route. You can see the woodland animals in their natural habitat as you stroll along the nature walk which starts and finishes on site. Education and interpretation boards will enhance your experience. For those bold enough to explore away from the beaten track there are endless signs of wildlife to be discovered such as the well worn badger runs or the less obvious deer tracks. There may even be a sight of these majestic creatures themselves, who are frequent visitors. 5 Everything you need: • Family bath & shower rooms Food, drink & entertainment: • Fully equipped laundry rooms • The Old Stable Bar & the Barn Bar • Accessory shop and awning sales • Take away - traditional fish and chips • Caravan storage facility • The Wild Pheasant restaurant • Caravan sales, servicing & repairs • Outside eating area • The ‘Cow Shed’ shop for all your daily essentials • Disabled washroom facilities • Children’s entertainment held every day in high season • Recycling facilities • Dog day kennels • Evening entertainment is held regularly in the bars Activities: Let’s play! • Horse Riding Centre • ‘Petorama’ Undercover Mini Zoo • 9 Hole Fun Golf • Sports Field • Extensive Waymarked Woodland Walks • Large Indoor Heated Swimming Pool Sky Sports is available in the bar • 9 Hole Crazy Golf • Kiddies’ Cars • Indoor Soft Play Area • 4 Outdoor Play Areas • Games Room Site facilities are open between the 1st April and 31st October. The location of the Lodge development is so idyllic that in the 1300’s an early farm settlement flourished in this precise area.
