White Brothers Ltd is a Maltese corporation, wholly
owned and operated by the successors of its founder,
Angelo Ciantar.
The company owes its name to its
founder's first truck - an American-built
White model 704 - which earned Angelo
Ciantar the nickname Tal-'White', by
which the family business became
popularly known thereafter.

 This is the oldest service offered by our company since being a licensed
Burdnar (or Cargo Clearance and Forwarding Agent). Nowadays, White
Brothers Ltd is a leading exponent in this field, having the necessary expertise and data input facilities to ensure the fastest possible operation.
Our offices are computer-linked with the Malta Customs enabling us to act
as the customer’s representatives through the web-based e-Customs system.

Inland Transport
Much of what we carry these days is containerized cargo, though we are well
geared to handle groupage and air consignments, and even awkward loads
With a workforce of 40 and a fleet of over 50 vehicles, we are well equipped to
handle our clients’ transport needs with ease. Vehicles range from tractor units,
terminal tractors, box trucks, curtain-siders and tilts. A complement of 20 – 40ft
trailers supported by side-loaders makes our fleet one of the most comprehensive
on the island.
We use our side-loaders for lowering sea-containers to the ground and vice versa;
a 20- and (an extendable) 20/45-footer capable to lift up to 33tons, are available.
These are particularly handy in restricted spaces and eliminate the need for bulky
cranes.
Ship-to-Shore operations, is one of our specializations. Our terminal tractors are
constantly employed for the loading and discharging of Ro-Ro vessels in Maltese
ports. The majority of vessel operators use the services of White Brothers Ltd on
their vessels. Apart from terminal tractors, we also supply vessels with Ro-Ro

Ltd. is well renowned for.
Cargo is precious to Importers and Exporters. For this reason we handle it
with the utmost care. From personal belongings to sophisticated pharmaceutical equipment, from parcels to heavy lifts, from Ro-Ro vessels to giant

Machinery Removals
This sector has become part of the organization’s specialised areas in
more recent years.
Equipped with trailers capable of carrying up to 110 tons and tractors
to match, we handle the heaviest equipment coming to our island. Our
company enjoys a reputation of an automatic first choice for this kind
of jobs. Recent tasks include 85tons transformers, 4 colour printing
machines, high pressure boilers, air handlers etc. These were all successfully executed for different companies who were extremely satisfied with the service. Among these one can find ST Microelectronics,
Actavis, Simonds Farsons Cisk and Gutenberg Press to mention only a
few.

Packing and Storage
White Brothers Ltd provides its customers with storage and warehousing
facilities. We cater for companies with the need for warehousing space
for their imports/exports/transshipments, as well as office space. This is
extremely useful when storage space is restricted as it eliminates the
headache of stores which are out of the way and in remote areas. Our
warehouse is always accompanied and protected with fire and burglar
alarms as well as CCTV systems. A customs approved bonded warehouse
is also available for temporary storage and transshipped cargo.
Packing is a compliment for storage and we can offer wooden cases/
crates as well as packing for furniture and personal belongings being exported.

Project Cargo
BWSC A/S of Denmark was awarded the tender for the extension of Malta’s second power station, situated at Delimara. In turn BWSC appointed White Brothers as their local freight forwarder for all their transport requirements during this period.
The Company has been heavily involved in the clearance, transport and handling of all cargo
connected with this project in the last couple of years. This has meant the handling of a mixture of movements, from normal airfreight consignments and container loads to bulky, awkward and heavy lifts. The latter were imported on conventional chartered vessels and were
mostly handled at the site’s own small wharf. Where the wharf was too small for the vessel,
cargo operations were carried out from Marsaxlokk port terminal and transported by road to
site, thus entailing detailed preparation for route planning, traffic management, permits and
escorts to ensure safe passage and the least disruption. The largest of these shipments consisted of 8 boilers, each unit weighing 93 tons and measuring 15m x 6m x 4m.
White Brothers was also involved in on-site lifting operations for the erection of equipment. At
times the enterprise was working with two cranes in tandem, not an easy feat considering the
limited space available and the exceptional weight and dimensions of some of the pieces.
