Parade of Progress
This fascinating vehicle is one of only 12 Futurliners built in 1940 and updated in 1953 for GM’s "Parade of Progress", the unique traveling show that previewed the company’s
latest designs and leading-edge technologies throughout America between 1940 and 1956. This remarkable unrestored example is one of the five Futurliners acquired and
saved during the early 1980s by noted collector Joe Bortz, who in turn sold it to the current owner.
Today, it remains the sole known Futurliner to be offered at auction since the restored example that famously sold for $4.3 million in 2006. This particular vehicle is considered
the best of the five Futurliners formerly owned and sold by Mr. Bortz in the 1980s, and features most of its rare original trim and "Parade of Progress" side scripting, as well
as the massive original "GM" front-end logo and a new Plexiglas windshield. Please note that it is not currently running and will require complete restoration. However,
as offered, this Futurliner represents a truly unique opportunity to acquire and restore one of the greatest icons of American and GM marque history, all at a fraction of its
projected value when restored.

1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Convertible
1957 Ford Thunderbird Convertible
With its distinctive styling, strong small-block V-8 power, the 1957 Bel Air was an
unqualified sales success and remains iconic today. This rare convertible, one of an
estimated seven per cent of Bel Air production, features a light blue finish, dual
quads, a 3-speed manual transmission, fender skirts, and much more.
This stunning Thunderbird is a body-off-frame, "nut and bolt" restoration with virtually
every period option, including a 312 V-8, automatic, "Continental" kit, Kelsey-Hayes
wire wheels, PB, PS, PW, radio, and both tops.
1956 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Convertible
Named Biarritz, the 1956 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible carried a substantial factory price tag of $6,501 when new. With just 2,150 produced, surviving examples remain highly
sought-after today and they continue to rank among the most luxurious and elegant automobiles ever to come from GM during the fabulous 1950s.
Offered in very presentable, high-end driver condition notwithstanding some bumper and dash brightwork issues visible upon closer inspection, this Eldorado displays good
panel fit, a good white convertible top, and good two-tone interior. It is equipped with gold-finished Saber-Spoke wheels, whitewall tires, the optional Autronic-Eye headlight
dimmer, a radio, a clock, and all the other expected Eldorado features for 1956. Power is provided by a 305 bhp, 365 cu. in. twin-carb Eldorado V-8 topped by a "batwing" air
cleaner and mated to a Hydra-Matic four-speed automatic transmission.

1957 Dual-Ghia Convertible
The prior owner of this 1957 Dual-Ghia acquired it in 1982 from a Reno, Nevada-based owner who had acquired the car in 1977. It clearly benefited from the benign climate
and with no known damage, a restoration commenced during the 1980s and was completed in 2003. The quality of the restoration was confirmed on the show field, with the
achievement of a class victory at the 2008 Louisville Concours d’Elegance. As one of three Dual-Ghias in this owner’s history, he stated unequivocally that it was the best.
Finished in PPG red acrylic enamel, the Dual-Ghia is complemented by glass and brightwork redone to concours-level standards. A specialist possessing experience with several
Dual-Ghias made the convertible top. Amenities include power windows, power brakes, power steering, and a TorqueFlite automatic transmission, as well as a working period
radio and fully functional instruments. One of the most distinctive and exclusive automobiles of the 20th Century, this Dual-Ghia is also very rare as one of only 117 built.
1958 Chevrolet Impala SPORTS Coupe
This older restoration features show-quality
brightwork, glass and two-tone paint. Equipped with a
283 V-8, duals, Powerglide, power steering, new wide

1965 Shelby GT 350 VIN# SFM5S129
Few automobiles are as sought-after and seemingly immune to market fluctuations as those blessed with Carroll Shelby’s signature performance touch. Heavily modified and
created from the outset to wrestle the SCCA B/Production racing championship from Chevrolet’s Corvette, the Ford Mustang-derived Shelby GT 350 remains particularly coveted
by today’s collectors.
A superbly presented, highly original, well maintained and completely unmolested American icon, this 1965 Shelby GT 350 is offered from the highly respected private collection
of Major League Baseball Hall of Famer and noted car collector Reggie Jackson. Complete with a rare dash pod-mounted tachometer and oil-pressure gauge and five-spoke Shelby
wheels, it is listed in the Shelby American Registry and represents a terrific opportunity to acquire an outstanding first-year GT 350, owned by none other than ¨Mr. October.¨

Racing Handling Package, Power Upgrade Package,
X-Pipe exhaust, Hurst shifter, 3.55 axle, Special
Appearance Package with hood and side scoops, and
full Shelby badging.
2005 Ford GT
During the 1960s, the original GT40 epitomized Ford’s ¨Total Performance¨ program and was created with just one
purpose: to break Ferrari’s dominance of international endurance racing. That goal was realized in 1966 when the
GT40 secured its first win at Le Mans, repeating the trick three more times in 1967, 1968 and 1969. Based on the
GT40 concept unveiled at Detroit in 2002, the modern-day Ford GT represents a more than worthy successor to the
original, with a 550-bhp supercharged V-8, an electronically-limited 205 mph top speed, and phenomenal handling
capabilities.
This first-year 2005 Ford GT was bought new by Major League Baseball Hall of Famer Reggie Jackson and is still
titled in his name. With only 263 miles on the odometer, it is the 21st GT built and complies with California emissions
regulations. Options include the very rare stripe delete, brake package, McIntosh Stereo, upgraded wheels, and
California registration eligibility.

chrome luggage rack, and more.
A documented, "nut and bolt" restoration with no
expense spared, to the exact specifications of a
Yenko Super Camaro. Power is by one of the 427
second-generation ZL1 engines, based on the original
castings.
1970 Dodge Challenger R/T
Development of the Challenger began in late 1966 with design work led by Bill Brownlie. Its enduring success stems not only from its handsome styling, but also from its ability
to accommodate the entire Chrysler engine range by virtue of the front sub-frame it borrowed from the B-bodied Charger/Coronet. At the rear, adoption of the Charger/Coronet
rear suspension provided a wide rear track capable of accommodating the wide tires available by 1970. The rest is automotive history.
This ultra-rare factory FE5 Bright Red Challenger is a real U-Code 375 bhp, 440 cu. in. V-8 car and features a red interior, bucket seats, a center console, power steering, Rally
gauge package, and more. Interestingly, it is a former Hawaii car, with heater delete. It clearly benefits from a comprehensive restoration as offered today, and it has been
documented by Mopar expert Galen Govier.

1959 Lincoln Continental Mark IV Convertible
Remarkably rare as one of just 2,195 units originally produced, this top-line 1959 Lincoln Continental Convertible carried a stratospheric $7,056 price when new, befitting
its regal stature. Abundant standard features included Six-Way power seats, tinted glass, a Travel-Tuner radio with dual speakers, and power vent windows. Uniquely, the
convertible top incorporated a retractable glass rear window. The standard powerplant was a 350 bhp, 430 cu. in. V-8 engine with four-barrel carburetion.
Benefiting from a complete "nut and bolt" restoration and climate-controlled storage, this Continental is strikingly finished in red. Its proportions and fascinating "dream car"
styling are complemented by an impressive interior, gold-colored model identification scripts, abundant brightwork, a highly detailed engine, engine bay, and trunk compartment.
Quite rare today, this 1959 Continental Mark II Convertible will undoubtedly provide a unique, powerful and luxurious driving experience for its next owner. In addition, it will
be a sure-fire conversation starter wherever it goes.
1957 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Convertible
1960 Ford Thunderbird Hardtop

glass, a parade boot, and Saber-Spoke wheels with wide whitewalls.
From the final production year of the distinctive and immensely successful secondgeneration, four-seat Thunderbird, this example from 1960 is very well equipped
with Select Aire factory air conditioning, Kelsey-Hayes chrome wire wheels and a
mirrored spotlight, as well with power features covering the brakes, seats, steering,
and windows.

1960 Crown Imperial Convertible
One of just 618 Crown Imperial convertibles from 1960, this very fine example was formerly owned by Academy Award winner Jack Palance from the early 1980s to his death
in 2006. It benefits from a frame-off restoration, which was completed in August 2007, with over 2,000 hours invested and no expense spared.
Correctly finished in Regal Red with body gaps and panel fit superior to the original production standards and outstandingly brightwork, it retains its original, rebuilt powertrain,
with a 350 hp 413 cu. in. "Wedge" V-8 engine and a TorqueFlite automatic transmission. The engine bay is detailed to a complementary standard, and virtually all mechanical
components were rebuilt to correct specifications. The restored interior is equally impressive. With its striking presence, Virgil Exner design heritage, celebrity ownership and
recent restoration, this outstanding Imperial stands ready to be driven or shown with pride.

tilt steering column, bucket seats, seat belts, a floor console with gauge package, a tachometer, power steering, power disc brakes, a 12-bolt Positraction rear end, and front
and rear spoilers. From the factory firewall stampings to the Goodyear Polyglas tires, it is a truly great example of the musclecar era. Press the throttle, hear the roar of the big

1939 Lincoln Model K Coupe
By LeBaron
Lincoln built just 133 12-cylinder Model Ks in 1939, the last year for the exclusive, luxurious model produced since 1933. No fewer than 21 different body designs were available
from Brunn, Willoughby, Judkins and LeBaron, with all but three built in single-digit quantities. That number included the 2-passenger coupe by LeBaron, of which just four are
believed to have been built, including this exceptional example.
The maroon exterior is accented by a discrete gold coachline, and the interior is trimmed in beautiful grey leather and elaborate woodwork. An external rack-mounted trunk
supplements a smaller internal trunk for smaller items, the padded roof is covered with black leather, and other features include dual enclosed sidemounts, turn signals,
wide whitewall tires, hubcaps, trim rings, and Trippe lights. The engine and engine bay are highly detailed and painted, featuring brightly polished aluminum cylinder heads.
Stately, elegant, and incredibly rare, this top-line LeBaron-bodied Lincoln Model K coupe continues to benefit from the restoration performed about 10 years ago, and remains
praiseworthy today.

1932 Duesenberg Dual-Cowl Phaeton
In the Style of LeBaron
Offered from a prominent private automobile collection, this majestic example from 1932 features iconic Dual-Cowl
Phaeton coachwork in the style of LeBaron and a particularly fascinating history. Reportedly, it was involved in a
collision during the early 1930s and evaluated as being too costly to repair. As such, it was placed into long-term
storage, where it remained until having been unearthed and rescued in the 1980s by the late Rick Carroll.
It was then completely restored to its period splendor, with no expense spared. The quality of its restoration was
confirmed by the achievement of AACA Senior National honors in 1990, as well as serving as the feature subject
in numerous publications, including the January 1991 issue of the AACA’s Antique Automobile magazine and "The
Mightiest American Car" by J.L. Elberts.

13
1932 Duesenberg Five-Passenger Sedan In the Style of Derham
Priced from $8,500 for the bare chassis when new, the Duesenberg Model J was by far the most expensive car offered for sale in America. With coachwork, the delivered price
approached $20,000, a staggering sum at a time when a typical new family car cost around $500. However, few argued that its incredible engineering did not support the cost.
Indeed, the Model J’s specifications sound current even today: dual overhead camshafts, four valves per cylinder, sophisticated brakes, and 265 hp in naturally aspirated form.
Offered from a large and diverse private automobile collection and formerly part of the noted Stewart McCall collection in Texas, this Model J is fitted with formal five-passenger
sedan coachwork in the style of Derham. With a dramatic black finish and handsome brightwork, it is complemented by burgundy cloth upholstery, dual covered sidemounts,
wire wheels, a luggage trunk, and remains a great example of a true motoring icon.

Features include a built-in sun visor, a lifting windshield, cowl lights, 18-inch painted
wire wheels, twin-trumpet horns, and chrome hood ports, as well as left-hand side
and rear-mounted spares and a rumble seat.
A show-quality restoration from four years ago, with 69,968 original miles from new,
benefiting from careful maintenance, proper storage and occasional use. Handsome
in dark blue complemented by Dove Grey leather upholstery, grey carpeting, and a
dark blue cloth top, it includes a jump seat, dual enclosed sidemounts, fog lights and
wide whitewalls.

A fascinating vehicle; custom built for a
cinematographer for location filming and reportedly
once owned by Harrah’s. Aluminum driver’s
compartment and van body, inline 8-cylinder Pierce
engine, 4-speed, power brakes.
1938 Curtiss Aerocar
The luxurious and streamlined Aerocar travel trailer was the brainchild of pioneering aviator and aircraft
manufacturer Glenn Curtiss, who, along with half-brother G. Carl Adams, envisioned an improved fifth-wheel
camper design near the end of World War I. They organized what later became the Curtiss Aerocar Company of
Florida with manufacturing in Opa-Locka, the town founded by Curtiss in 1926.
Aerocars were used by wealthy individuals and families for personal use, by corporations as VIP transports, and
by luxury hotels to transport their guests on weekend tours. The pioneering aviator, balloon racer, auto racer, and
Broadway actor, Augustus Post, originally owned this example. Next, it was owned by the Los Angeles Biltmore,
then Republic Van Lines in Santa Monica, and then Robert Breeze, the colorful Hollywood stuntman known as ¨Wolf
River Bob.¨
The streamlined fifth-wheel tow rig was produced by Standard Carriage Works of Los Angeles and based upon
a 1-ton 1938 Chevrolet truck cab and chassis, with the ash-framed rear bodywork incorporating a storage
compartment. One of 12 known survivors and only one of the two in running condition, this Aerocar is offered in
unrestored but remarkably nice ¨barn find¨ condition, remaining without doubt one of the rarest and most unique
early recreational vehicles in the world.

Display
Auburn Spring represents the first time that a restored and unrestored
example of these iconic machines is together on public display. The
unrestored bus, with a pre-sale estimate of $450,000 - $600,000, is set to
cross the auction podium during the afternoon on Saturday, May 14.
These futuristically-styled buses, measuring 11 feet high and 33 feet long,
were designed by Harley Earl and originally built in 1940 and refurbished in
the early 1950s. Before the dawn of television, they travelled the highways
and byways of the United States to demonstrate General Motors’ new
automobiles and technology to American consumers.
