Hailed as “Top Race in the State Worth Traveling For”
by TripAdvisor, MO’ Cowbell has quickly become the go-to
race for first-time runners and those seeking a personal
record. Their is a race for every skill level, Marathon, Half
Marathon, Half Relay, and 5K. Plus it is walker friendly!
Always taking place on the first Sunday in October,
MO’ Cowbell is the only race of its kind... “Flattest and
Fastest in the Region.” Highlighting historic and unique
neighborhoods as well as scenic views of the Missouri, it is
a must experience event!
Did we mention lots of cowbells? Each year nearly
10,000 cowbells fill the streets with noise cheering on
participants in our funfilled community tradition.
Our Runners
This year approximately 6,000+ runners, 500+ volunteers
and 8,000 spectators are expected on race day. Here’s
how the participant numbers breakdown:
- 66% women
- Average age 39
- 25% first-time participants
- 64% travel 30 miles or less to race
- 20% travel 100 miles or less to race
- 44 states & 3 countries represented
MO’ About Us!
MO’ Cowbell is created by the community, for the
community with the proceeds staying in the community!
Organized by the civic group Partners for Progress (PfP)
with the assitance of Big River Running Company, this
memorable community event introduces people to
St. Charles County as a great place to live, work and play.
MO’ Cowbell is not Missouri Cowbell despite the rumor
but MO’ short for more. It is a tongue-and-cheek
reference to a classic SNL skit featuring Will Ferrell and
Christopher Walken.
