Book of the Quarter Club Our new book club book is the Divergent Series by Veronica Roth We wrote over 100 thank you cards to the new teachers of Walton County in recognition of teacher appreciation week. Continue to bring Box Tops for local schools and books for the local libraries in the County. International Outreach Kathy Young & Sandy Edison (chairs) Please visit www.goodsearch.com to help support Corazon de Vida! -based non-profit organization supporting Baja orphanages. It provides children in dire need the necessities of shelter, food, clothing, education, and healthcare – as well as hope, compassion and love. CDV not only financially supports orphanages in Baja, but also provides assistance through frequent cross-border visits by board members, staff, and volunteers. Continue to bring cloth and pillowcases to make pillowcase dresses over the next couple of months. Please save any Happy Meal toys and sample soaps and shampoos to help with Operation Smile. Boys & Girls Club 5K Saturday, May 24th at Felker Park @ 8 a.m. Continue to bring coupons! Remember to pick up a copy of Be a Buckler to read to a group of children. On April 26th, at the GFW State Convention, the MJWC got a chance to meet Margo and her Canine Companion and see firsthand how our contribution has made a difference. Conservation Stephanie Crunkleton(chair) Conservation is still collecting Entenmann’s Little Bites Bags and plastic grocery/Walmart bags for recycling. Document Destruction Day is coming up on May 31st. More details to come via email. Arbor Day email and info to plant our tree will come once we have approval to plant the tree at the church. If they say no then we will look elsewhere for a spot to plant it. June 21st is our next Adopt-A-Road clean up at 8 am (early but it will be hot!)
