Phantom Screens completes Idea House in Mobile,
Alabama showcasing motorized retractable screens
Las Vegas, NV (January 19, 2016) - Phantom Screens has completed its first Idea House project and home
restoration in Mobile, Alabama. C. Esther De Wolde, CEO, Phantom Screens has restored the MorganFord House in the Oakleigh Garden district to showcase her company’s entire product range.
Esther – who’s Canadian and lives just outside Vancouver, British Columbia purchased the 1906 Arts & Craft
home in 2014 – and has had it painstakingly restored. Not only does the beautiful home combine history
with elegance it has also been expanded with a large screened-in back porch and outdoor kitchen that
integrates Phantom’s motorized retractable screens.
In fact the back porch has proved to be one of the most head-turning features of the home with its combination motorized retractable
insect screens and motorized clear vinyl screens. The porch can now be used all year round, temperature controlled, or left completely
open on warm Alabama spring and fall days. It’s the kind of porch that homeowners across the US will love!
The home and gardens are now fully restored and Esther and the Phantom Screens team are looking forward to showing it off at the
grand reveal and open house on February 27th. Each room was photographed before and during restoration, so visitors will be able to
see how it’s been preserved and how contemporary technology has been incorporated.
All through the restoration, she’s told the story of the home and its owners in a series of web TV episodes, a blog and through social media
(find everything you need to know at www.experiencephantom.com)
Esther says: “Restoring a Southern home has been on my bucket list for more years than I care to remember and so I’m so happy (and a
little bit nervous) that the day is finally here when I get to reveal it to everyone. I’m especially excited to display all of our products in one
place! I know my other home is 4,345 miles away in Canada, but I’ve fallen in love with the city of Mobile, the Oakleigh Garden District and
best of all its people.
This little corner of Alabama will forever have a special place in my heart.”

Phantom Screens introduces Executive motorized screens with clear vinyl at
2016 International Builders’ Show
Las Vegas, NV (January 19, 2016) - Phantom Screens, the leading manufacturer of retractable
screens in North America, is excited to launch Phantom Executive motorized screens with clear
vinyl, further extending our customers experience to include scenic views and temperature
controlled environments.
The clear vinyl option is great for both residential and commercial projects and has the option to
integrate motorized screens featuring mesh fabrics by stacking rollers and enhancing natural
ventilation when needed.
The vinyl screens will protect your porch or patio from rain, snow and cold weather while allowing you
to utilize the space of your home that would otherwise be neglected throughout the year. With harsh
weather in mind, experience with most applications has shown that extended units can withstand wind
speeds of up to 50 mph (80 kph) with no damage.
“What I love about using clear vinyl with our Executive screens is how much it transforms your
home and how you live” said C. Esther De Wolde, CEO of Phantom Screens. “On a covered porch, for
example, vinyl screens make the difference between using it a few days a year – to using it all year round. You create an
extra room in your house that feels like being outside – even though you have all the comforts of being inside!”
Clear vinyl is now available on select Executive motorized screens through its authorized distribution network and comes
in 4 distinct colors including black, sand, white and brown.

Retractable Window Screens
Historic Boston Home
When you’ve selected high quality windows for your home, you want to
ensure that their design remains unobstructed. Phantom’s window screens
do just that. Unlike conventional fixed screens, they don’t obstruct your view,
retracting out-of-sight when not needed.
Serene Retractable Window Screens
cover all window types including
casement, awning, single and
double-hung, sliding, and tilt’n’turn
windows. Providing solar shading,
enhanced privacy and protection
from insects while maintaining views,
Serene window screens.
Prestige Retractable Window
Screens are designed for custom
wood windows to blend with the
window frame. Available in seven
wood species, these window
screens ensure a near perfect
match to the window.
This historic Boston Colonial home, built in 1912, was on the verge
of complete deterioration after decades of neglect. The current
homeowners had to carefully follow Massachusetts Historical Society
guidelines and rules throughout the renovation process.
As they had to preserve the original windows, they could not add any
fixed screens. They therefore selected retractable Serene window
screens as the best solution for several windows in their home. The
screens are custom made and professionally installed to match the
varying sizes and colors of the original windows in the home.

Motorized Retractable Screens
The Generation X Concept Home
Executive motorized retractable screens by Phantom appear at the touch
of a button - and retract out of sight when not needed. Depending on the
selected mesh type, these retractable screens also help reduce your air
conditioning costs, lowering the amount of energy used to cool the house
in summer.
These retractable screens can be recessed from view, or mounted on existing
structures. Executive retractable screens can be integrated into every type of
architectural style including wood, brick, stucco, natural stone, and concrete.
Phantom’s Executive screens can also be programmed to lower and
retract with sun and wind sensors, and be connected to the building’s
automation system.
Designed by Canin Associates of Orlando, this home accommodates a
multi-generational and blended Gen X family. Outdoor living and open
concept layout were among the key elements incorporated into the design
of this open concept home.
In order to maximize the time spent outdoors without having to worry
about pesky insects or hot midday sun, recessed Executive motorized
retractable screens were installed at the rear of the house. The screens
deliver solar shading and protection from insects, thereby allowing
homeowners to make the most of the favorable Florida climate and enjoy
outdoor living for much of the year.
