1 - Introduction
The eMessage Web Services 3 are a collection of services to send messages like SMS, MMS, Fax, Voice
Messages and Letters.
This is also a technical document which describes how to interface with the eMessage Web Services 3
running in the Production environment. This document assumes that the reader is familiar with web
services and understands terminology such as HTTP, GET, POST, WSDL, UDDI, SOAP, etc.
The eMessage Web Services 3 are:


Self-describing via their own WSDL documents
Communicative with clients via SOAP over HTTP/HTTPS
1.1 - Retrieving the WDSL
Web services publish their own API in an XML format called Web Service Definition Language (WSDL).
Currently there is no Universal Description, Discovery and Integration (UDDI) directory that contains the
eMessage Web Services 3 documents. The WSDL must be retrieved directly from each of the web services,
as shown below:
http://secure.emessage.it/ws/emessage/webservices/soap/Credit.asmx?WSDL

2 - Using eMessage Web Services 3
All the eMessage Web Services exposes some web methods to call to obtain information or to send
messages.
Every web method returns a class inherited from eMessageResult, a class with these mandatory field:


success: a boolean true/false value indicating if the web method completed correctly.
description: a text describing what happened during web method calling.
If an error occurs during web services calling a SOAP exception is immediately thrown.
Every web methods fields must be passed if mandatory, otherwise you can pass a null value (or 0 value
from numerical fields).
Some web method calls may take some time (for example sending hundreds of sms in one call) so configure
your clients timeout so they will wait for a reply from eMessage Web Services 3.
